I wonder how long it will be before CBS moves their SEC football games from Saturday afternoons to Saturday nights in primetime.

My guess is that "SEC On CBS" goes primetime every Saturday night during the season starting in 2012.

This theme carries a great deal of sentimental value especially for young Gator fans like me. CBS picked up the SEC in '96 I believe and has always used this theme. That and Florida has the most appearances on CBS. This is what we grew up with and still have. I hope it never changes.

@thefreashking Well, being a Florida graduate, that 2007 game with LSU ticked me off (although I came away impressed with LSU Coach Miles', ahem, GUTS, going for several 4th downs in the game (and converting them). My favorite SEC on CBS moment has to be the 2008 SEC title game, when they rallied in the 4th quarter with 2 TDs to beat unbeaten Alabama 31-20. They went on to beat Oklahoma for the national title, of course.

September 2011 will mark the lead-in to the 25th year of the theme that basically introduces us Fall with college football on CBS. Next year, The exact date the theme turns 25 shares with Super Bowl XXI as it debuted on January 25, 1987. (When the GIANTS WON btw anyway) The longevity, let alone the lasting power of the theme that is recognizable by many and basically symbolizes College Football like "Heavy Action" for MNF, now on ESPN, for football is pretty amazing if you ask me.

Actually, I've been a Packer fan since before they were "cheeseheads." I posted my rude comment to CBS Sports after they cut away from a very exciting Pats game in a blizzard to go to a boring substitute. The Pats were winning by a lot, but football in the snow? Can't beat it..since they took our mud away. To conclude, the New England Patriots are a very good football team, and CBS eventually went back to them.

I like football; most football FANS are fucking annoying.

I don't watch college football as much as the NFL, but I love this theme. It's very catchy, and what's great is that they haven't changed it from the time they started using it (apparently 1987), unlike the NFL on CBS. This is why I don't mind watching college sports, they don't change their theme songs as much as the professional leagues.

the SEC on CBS. this is the greatest theme song in sports. better than NFL on CBS. better than NFL on FOX. better than FOX saturday MLB. it literally gives me goosebumps every time i hear it on saturday afternoon's in the fall. it just has that "big game" feel to it. the vols and gators during the late 90's. the iron bowl. lsu and the hogs the day after thanksgiving. man. i think this is the soundtrack to my life.

I love the SEC on CBS. It flat out takes a dump on ESPN and ESPN on ABC! CBS has better intros, a way better theme song, and they do a better job presenting the game. I just wish that in the future CBS will try to get the rights to broadcast the BCS Champ Game.
