...The point is that you've got lots of res but so very little time, it only makes sense to use the res (on missiles) rather than using what little time you have making enough energy to power lasers--the result of that is needlessly complicated.

I'd provide an image of said simple design, but youtube blocks comments with links, if you really can't figure it out, send me a message.

Alright. I've stripped it down a little to the bare minimums needed to work, just 1 solar 3 and 6 missile 3's. I've also taped it and submitted it to be a response. Cheers. Truly an awesome game.

Not bad, but there's an easier way.

Make one repair station level one behind the starting solar station, then make two more solar stations, one above and one below the one you started with, now upgrade all three solar stations (upgrading the repair station isn't necessary), now build 8 fully upgraded missile launchers off of this structure in an eastward facing arc, then just hit the button to make the thing go fast.
