  • As per new Marine Corps standards he did 20 pull ups ( he kipped the last one and dropped off the bar) and 0 sit ups (incorrect form)

  • No pushups??

  • Those are chin ups

  • Three pull ups????

WTF I had Pt today and I had to do 20.....

  • Al Moreno is the man!!! Hey Al, I salute you and honor you as a true gladiator that have withstood the test of time. God bless you my brother!

  • First, I wuld like to say oorah devil dog!!!! You definitely motivated me to get back I that Marine Corps shape I used to be in. Whoever makes a negative comment about this Marine of the 60's and the Vietnam War can go to hell! Wait until you're 60 or 62 yrs old and obtain a perfect or 300 PFT and then make a comment. In fact, most of you young folks today won't even make it to 50 with your lifestyles! For this veteran Marine oorah sir! and keep up the good work and great health because at the

  • if i did this at my rs my sncoic would kick my ass for not locking my elbows

  • Dude used momentum to get himself up during those chin-ups. Still good for his age, but I guess they weren't strict with him since he has seniority.

  • 2:42 holy shitt

  • People the grip does not matter as long as you come to a dead hang! Move on now

  • the pull ups and sit ups i can do, but that 3 mile run is gonna be hard lol, im 14 and a freshman in highschool at the moment, im signing up for the delayed entry program when im a junior, and then going to parris island hopefully after i graduate. i cant wait!

  • @RileyDoesStuff Haha thats my thought to XD i cant run for that long in that amount of time XD

  • aren't you supposed to stop yourself from swinging or something like that to prevent it from being easier

  • ey wohne in leipzig

  • OUTSTANDING!

    Fuckin' OOH RAH!

  • 2:50 WTF IS THIS SHIT.. that grip is for pussies.. wheres the proper over hand grip? thought these guys were trained for war

  • i read his story in LA times. awesome. lilfear, true about dead hangs.

  • but thats a curl up...

  • great vid but those were not dead hang pullups...you see his knees coming up just before the rest of him? (thats now called cheating) but when he was in that was allowed

  • Comment removed

  • @pointlesscomedy when did that happen??

  • Comment removed

  • @PointlessComedy pretty sure thats wrong, im in the DEP. its atleast 2 pullups. 100 situps/2minutes, and under 13:30 mile and a half

  • @USMCpoolee19 your right, my mistake. typo

  • @PointlessComedy its all good i do it to

  • i was always taught that the military sit ups had to have fingers locked behind your head and it doesn't count if your fingers break.

  • @Bamabarrett Not anymore. That stuff's hard on your neck.

  • This is EXACTLY what i need

  • holly crap al ur the man.

  • why do they do it backhands??? that`s easy.. we must doe it fronted.

  • strong man

  • you inspire me, sir.

  • at 62 years old hes more physically fit than every poolee at my recruiting office

  • i would pass this test even though i just started training 3 days ago xD

  • @TheBlackLounge

  • .....pfft......

  • fuck, i need to stop eating fat shit now

  • Damn! I wish I'm either as fit or better when I'm 64

  • i ran 3 miles in under 20, but marines are still more fit then i am.

  • @TheBlackLounge 131? I thought the record was 76 usmc pull ups? You sure this isn't some kipping pull ups? Can you give me a link to where you got these numbers and names please?

  • 21 pull ups ? 100 sit ups ? the guy is not impressive its just everyone else suck -,-

  • @HassanTheSlayer

I would love to see you do 21 p/u 100 s/u and a 18:30 min run time when your 64!

  • @MrJarhead4life i did not say the guy is bad i said the other guys suck so bad they make him look like a hero lol and yeah sure when im 64 i will make a video for u :)

  • LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO 4:00 "chargeee motherfuckerrrrrrr"

  • Those arent proper pull ups in my school we'll im in mcjrotc we cant swing out legs and our pft is a 1 mile run under 6 minutes. 75 or above push ups in 1 minute. sit ups at least 120 in 2 minutes and pull ups 20 or more

  • @312979drpepperjuggal you're full of it.

  • OohRah!! Motivate!! Semper Fidelis

  • lol the physical requirements isn't very hard!

  • dude s a beast!

  • whos the fat guy at 5:23??

  • this must be the arm and hammer guy from the baking soda box

  • that was chin ups in my mcjrotc we do 25 or more pull ups

  • @312979drpepperjuggal jaja same here but at 62 he is still bad ass

  • that man is showin there ass's up..... i wanna be in the usmc so bad, and im a wrestler and a cross country runner so i feel like i can get through the pft, God i hope i can serve the usmc

  • CHARGGEE!!!! motherfuckers! 4:02

  • One word "bad-ass"

  • this guy is inspiring

  • those are chin ups

  • @shibs33 Your allowed to do either. But yeah I see your point.

  • that is one bad man!

  • now that's motivation

  • im working on this all year long now to get there

  • Those are not proper pull-ups Al :)

I can do 18 pull-ups on a regular basis (23 personal best) but with "technique" in this video I could probably go up to 30+

Pull-up is an excellent exercise but also very hard if done properly!!

Check out that "Marine Corps Fitness - Proper Pull-Ups" video for good pull-up example.

    No offence!! :)

    P.S. Thumbs-around grip ALWAYS!!!!

  • I was thinking that the rangers are the best that the us have...

  • why is this so easy i'm in the british marines and the test just to get in is a lot more than that

i respect all millinery but i do like the us marines there are the best the us have

  • @ben62860 Thats odd, because your profile says you are in the RAF

  • @OneEyePI ooohh ya i was in the RAF but i transfer to the royal Mureans about 2 years ago bit more excitement on the job you know

  • Wow that was amazing! I tried my hand at a marine pft an made sure to follow all rules and regulations. I got 80 situps 11 pullups and a 27:30 run time and im a 14 year old freshman (granted i turn 15 in 2 months) thats a score of 178 putting me pft class 2 i cant wait to finish highschool cuz im enlistin on my 18th birtgday oorah!

  • 55 situps in 2 mins is easy

  • u got my respect ! keep it up !

  • ....jesus christ...... i wish i half as awesome as al...

  • Sir Al is way better than me I'm 17 and he's 64 i'm just one of a lazy ass goddamn it.

  • lol did anyone hear the Charge Mother Fuckers at the beginning of the run

  • Amazing. He's me fitness role model now.

  • Not a very strict PFT overall, but the run was extremely impressive. Especially in that heat.

  • like a boss!

  • wtf! ive trained here in the Philippines for the airforce team and they want me to do 47 push up in 2 mins 55 sit ups in 2 min and run 3 miles under 17 mins 20 seconds. ive been in the gym for a year so push up and running is not a problem but i can't finish 55 push up in just 2 mins it took me 2 mins and 20 seconds to finish it

  • @violence007 thats sad i do 55 situps in 1 min

  • @buhtailo well im doing it in proper form after watching the others how they did it i did what they did and i got 90 in two mins.

  • I am just curious where on Camp Pendleton this was filmed?

  • wowowowo very nice for 64!!

  • hahahaha @ 3:37. everyone else behide him has tanked.

  • I am trying to get a 300 pt score befor I even enlist. I can do 30 lat pullups very neatly to military standard and def do 100 situps in 2 min but I am currently working on my running, any tips? I hate running and it is boring but I thought maybe I should mix it up with biking, running and swimming to still get cardio but make it more entertaining.

  • Comment removed

  • @VBH8888 I find running VERY BORING aswell. Mixing it up is good, I do running and swimming now and I've improved my 1.5 mile running time from 13 minutes to 10:40 minutes in just 3 weeks! Also try to find a running partner if you can, it adds a bit of competition and motivation and makes running less boring. Good luck!

  • whoa for an old man he's sure beastly in everything a teenager can do.

  • SEMPER FI DO OR DIE!

  • damn i remember that that was my least favorite those ropes killed me

  • What happens if someone gets 300 points

  • I will be glad if I'm alive at 64

  • PARATROOPER AND WAR JUNGLE

    MORE RACE!!

    BRAZIL !!!

  • Well, he's a gunny. No surprise.

  • If I was the fat ass administrating the PFT i woudl feel ashamed of my self that an old man is in better shape then me! unsat marine!

  • holy !!!

  • the man is a role model. I can only do 15 of pull ups without stopping, maybe 20 if I push it. I don't know how long they had to do sit ups but I can only do 55 a minute. His 3 miler is amazing, my best 3 mile to date is 22:50

  • @CoffeeBeatsTea

    120 seconds for sit ups.

  • This is the old military the real deal. Nam enough said

  • This is the old military the real deal

  • it was only 21 but your comment says 27... your informations seems unreliable

  • I'm pathetic, I am 19 and can't do what this man is doing...Time to PT!

  • wish i could do that crap

  • That's Outstanding!

  • what!!?? i did test for a junior commando camp in belgium and the requirements were 2.4km in 9 min and 6 seconds, 71 sit ups, 10 pull ups Ö

  • Orrahh Marine! Very inspirational. Al I would really like to invite you to my forum to see what you think about this project that I'm working on and see if you would like to join it and chat with other Marines interested in the PFT? Semper Fi!

    300pft.com/

  • Was he even in that good of shape in '68?

  • @RebelliousPatriot I guess so, if he does really good at his current age, he must've been awesome when he was at his prime... he rapes my 3 mile time.... 20:38 xD

  • I hate to be that guy but he uses his knees and doesn't break his elbows on the pull ups

  • thats incredible. good effort to him for doing all that at his ripe age!

  • 4:01 "CHARGEEE MOTHERFUCKERRR!"

  • my highest is 288. I don't know how that old man can run so fast

  • whoah

  • That's awesome I believe my highest score was 295 (20 pull ups /80 sit ups /3 miles in 18:34) Semper fi. Trust me that 3 mile run any where near 18 minutes is a killer to much respect to you. When I was in it was a little different you had to fully extend your arms at the bottom of the pull up and for the sit up you had to keep your hands clasp behind your head but what the old guy did was fucking amazing. The Marines keeps changing the PT test every so often now its crunches in stead of sit ups

  • That's awesome I believe my highest score was 295 (20 pull ups /80 sit ups /3 miles in 18:34) Semper fi.

  • Age is just a number! :)

  • nice job man, i have to take this this summer, ill try hardest to get 1st class like you did!

  • lets say your 80 and still have a career with the marines. u still have to take a the pft?

  • @pwbaseball260 Yes, but you cannot be in the Marines at 80.

  • @nightmare14146 True but would you mess with this ole dude?

  • @lonerangersheriff Heavens no, I am a 22 year old Marine and I cannot run that fast haha. The man is a beast. Motivation at its finest!

  • @nightmare14146 Well Semper Fi, I am a 50 year old former Marine. I still love to work out on pullups, pushups and the run. But alas have gained a lot of muscle weight and for my work have done so on purpose. To be able to do Al Moreno or 300 PFT type work all you have to do is get to that perfect bodyweight. Usually the USMC height to weight ratios are pretty close to ideal. At 192 I was a 300 PFT. Please be safe and read your Bible daily. Take care.

  • @lonerangersheriff Unless your in the gym all the time, then you have to waver because your under tall.haha

  • Comment removed

  • @RebelliousPatriot Got some advise for you young person. Read your Christian Bible daily, get an education, preferrably in the sciences, get a job, move away from mommy, stop abusing yourself, or join the USMC. Always support Israel and learn how to love in purity. That is all.

  • @lonerangersheriff I moved out of my home when i was 15, finished my education, i dont see how im abusing myself, and ive already enlisted. Thats why i said the whole under tall thing. Lets say someones 67'' tall, their shipping weight is 176lbs. If you are someone who 5' 8'' played football through highschool and was in a weight room everyday your going to be more than 176lbs. In which case you are not over weight but under tall.

  • amazing

  • MOTIVATION!!!! KICKIN ASS

  • wow that is one outstanding Marine.. Not a Marine yet but im on my way. Ooorah, Semper Fi

  • This man is a PT god

  • he is fit as shit for a 64 year old jesus

  • those are chin-ups actually. they are far easier than pull-ups for most people.

    still impressive though.

  • Christ! Hell yah - that's how most powerful military in the World looks like!

  • just see chin ups

  • Please tell me that fat slob holding Al's feet isn't a Marine??? If that "Fat body" is a Marine.....then tell me WTH happened with the CORPS??

  • The Hymn Right at the end

  • thumbs up if you always fart while doing situps...

  • @hillbilly2684 thumbs up if you fart while running...

  • hahah the last pic is R Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket

  • this is my new role model hurahh and I'm no Marine. Soldier in Jamaica and to swipperrobert closest you ever got to dis level is watching the old marine on youtube wath you do play airsoft wars for 10 mins then go drink some 6 cans of sprite you never ever disrespect those that have served before always show senior troops respect nomatter what part they served cause many a time it's just the luck of sa draw that they get back to their families

  • Sit ups are well and good. 100 in 120 seconds not so much!

  • Yeeahhh!!!!

  • Holy Shit! Some 18 yrs can't do that good.

  • You are wrong, You are a Marine not "Once a MArine"

  • I live in Long Beach too! Maybe I'll seek him out for training before I apply for OCS .

  • @Caboose56 - OOH RAH Long Beach!!

  • 1968-1969? was he only a marine for a year?

  • @wlchambers He was in combat for a year, hes still a Marine

    Semper Fi

  • @banushGB k only a one year enlistment? maybe drafted?

  • @wlchambers Ok here::

THe least you can enlist is 4 years. He was in combat once for 1 year, when he came back from Nam' he was still a a marine for the other 3 years.

  • Comment removed

  • @banushGB but if he was a draftee, he would've only been required to serve a 2 year commitment. that adds up to almost a 1/2 year stateside for training, and between 6 (mandatory usmc deployment) to 12 months in vietnam (if they volunteered to extend tour of duty for extra incentives, which many did). assuming he didnt volunteer, id say he did about 6 months of training, 6 months overseas, and was released by the gov upon returning b/c he couldnt deploy again (this happened to to many draftees)

  • @wlchambers ya i bet he hated his time in and played that veteran status forever. no offense intended(for those who care). its a fact that 91% of vietnam vets are proud that they served.

  • No dead hang

Suppose to keep your forearms flat against your chest/stomach

  • awesome.

  • Amazing job man i am thinking about joining the marines after school......oorahh!

  • i dont think he got a 300 score but vry close to it.. a 2030 run is a 285..

  • @Ghostwriter475 he got a 300 due to his age. the marine corps calculates your pft on an age range scale.

  • he did the crunches wrong.. hands supposed to be on his chest

  • @Ghostwriter475 At the time he did this the did sit ups. They switched to crunches because situps are bad for your back apparently.

  • Can you rest in any position during the sit-ups?

  • my 2 mile is 10:30

  • @Pheonix76549 I take pride in the fact that people compare the Marine Corps as a whole to special forces units.
