@juxtn Beliving in Jesus does not guarantee you a good life on earth, even though your relationship with him might give you great joy. Just think of Job from the Bible, the prophets and the first christians - lots of agony, ridicule and persecution. They found their joy in the Lord, but not much of a comfortable life...

The Danes on the other hand, are very comfortable in their lives, and over all happy about things, even though some of the many none believing people may feel a void.

I live in Denmark and like all others Danes im unhappy and depressed. The weather in Denmark is bad and makes you depressed, the people are unhappy, they rarely smile, and the healthcare, schools and economy is bad.

I don't see how the United States is 23rd in Happiness, Jesus is lord and Americans by far have a deeper relationship with Christ and that is the only thing that will bring you happiness. Scandinavian countries are very atheistic and socialist, they statistics have been intentionally falsified.

Men have killed over gods for centuries so much so that today in modern society, the belief in organized religion such christianity, islam etc is a sign of primal behavior. Places like Denmark are happy because they believe in one another since they are the ones they see and interact with. America on the other hand is filled with racism political and religious tension

@juxtn Furthermore, the statistics aren't skewed, they were collected from every university around the world during their surveys, you just find it hard to swallow the fact that god is a source of nothing but conflict. True happiness is found in one's self, it always has been: religion is a crutch....the Danes have gone passed this, there are lutherans in denmark but they understand that their religion is something personal and should not overlap with other human beings who think differently

Secondly look on all scientific studies. 9.6% of the american population is depressed. 3.6% of the danish population is depressed. USA is is the 9th fattest country on earth. Danish is ranked 108th. We have way better healthcare. Better schools. So just fuck off with your lies.

A lot of this is true -

but people Do lock their bikes, people DEFINITELY care a lot about personal possessions (a regular in DK will spend $200 on a pair of jeans, $60 on a t-shirt) , and security is tight.

I have never seen a vegetable stand run on the honor system. And people do have expensive cars, it might just be parked in the garage for show.

Speaking of diversity, there is actually big conflicts within DK concerning their many ethnic minorities constantly and discrimination is frequent.

SPP accepts the current econimic system where the market plays a key role so yes. As long DK uses the keynesianic model we are a capitalistic society. The wealth disbtribution is part of the Scandinavian model not just a Danish thing. modern Capitalism takes many forms we just picked the one that fits our community the best. No country uses a "pure" kind of Capitalism like the one defined by e.g. Adam Smith or Locke

As long as the market is the foundation of our society, at the top of our pyramide, as long we decide how healthy we are by the items we have consumed (materialism), as long we are part of EU and as long we maintain our current system with a partly free market system we [Denmark] are a capitalistic country, nothing more, nothing less. Socialism and Capitalism dont exclude one another, Capitalism and Communism do.

The corestone in Capitalism (beside the free market, which no country has) is the inviolable of property which is the only right you can find in our Constituition (§ 73). As long § 73 exists (as it shall) DK can be regarded as a capitalistic country.
