  • WALDORF SCHOOLS ARE THE BEST

  • waldorf kindergaten is good but they force the no media thing in ur face wayy to much in like grades 1 thru 5

  • haha i saw my cousins in this video xD

  • I study in a Waldorf School ( Livre Porto ), here in Brazil, since when I was 2. Now I'm 13, almost 14, and I love there! We also sing our hymn. Amazing.

  • I studied at the Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School. I had been at a state school in South London, and a private boarding school in Scotland, and Steiner was by far the best school I ever attended. Hopefully when I am older and have the money I will be able to send my children there. Best education experience of my life.

  • I go to waldorf and it is funn

  • But if falshood and doubting...in the high...then is vanished from the soul..the light of the day...

I studied at the São Paulo Rudolf Steiner School(Brazil). My two kids also study there.

I'd love to have the anthem of the school too!!!

  • I like the ideas & concepts.

HOWEVER - it appears as though this philosophy of individualism, creativity etc has been co-opted by the PC/NPR types.

Can someone please help me w this?

I am considering sending my child but the staff seems vague in answering my questions. Like they are (not so secretly) multi-culuralist, Obama fans.

Someone please tell me if this school is political or "politically correct" agenda.

    Thanks

  • @jojojigaboo , hello. Not quite sure what you mean by "multi-culturalist, Obama" comment. Is this something to hide? What is politically correct got to do with the school? Confusing.

  • I visited a Waldorf school and it wasn't as romantic as it's presented in this video.

  • i went in a wardorf shool in italy and i really loved it!!

  • actually black is the culmination of all colors therefore if the students wanted to use it they could just mix colors. waldorf education is a beautiful thing and our world is lucky to have it. They encourage creative thinking and questioning. What is weird is the public school systems jamming a bunch of facts down students throats and never allowing students time to creatively explore the subject matter so they can never fully consider the material.

  • hey guys.. i went to a waldorf school in holland, and we had a song we used to sing every year when the new classes joined.. i was like the school song.. but i cant find it anywhere.. maybe u know it..And than it goes a little something like this: In the quest of the holy grail, do we wander from land to land. in our duty we shall not fail if in gods light we stand,,, anyone knows ?

    thnx

  • Hey, me too we do it as well every year !

  • @bliksemslag "In the quest of the Holy Grail

Do we wander from land to land

In duty we shall not fail

If in God's light we stand

    But if falsehood and doubting

    In the heart hold sway

Then is banished from the soul

    The light of day."

I just got back from my Percival trip... it was amazing.

  • Ban Waldorf education now!

  • What a lack of performance! Where's the so called independence growt for kids? Even teenagers don't have the chance for any band making becoming too famous. Like what? They could donate some 30% of earning to the spiritual community and keep the rest. Or they could work for money in some coperation under the community's rule and by reaching 16-18 even get some help for driving license. These kids have no future. Gnostics and Drugs are not the same. No personality cult nor spirituality whatsoever

  • What are you talking about? Steiner is awesome and people learn how to spell there too.

  • I'll have you know im a waldorf student and even though it doesnt look like it, we ALL are independant at our school. A video cant really show that, so before you go on commenting about our "useless school" Id sudgest you go to one and see how we learn and work. My future is very bright and open ( yes im bragging ) thanks to waldorf.

  • I go to the one in texas! It's great but mine goes from kindergarden to 12th grade!

  • Even if one says black is not a color, to deny it is to deny reality because black is used in drawing. Also, I really believe there are underlying racial issues in belittling black.

  • Define racial issues when were supporting the hearts for africa foundation.

  • "were"...do they teach grammar?

  • to you mean where?

  • Just because its used in drawings doesnt make it a color. I use protective gloss, is that a color?

  • mann thats some funny shit!

waldorf is good for making friends and having a laugh but you should really get outta there to do your exams

  • dont go to waldorf past 6th grade

  • crap gay shit lol

  • Hey, i go to waldorf UK aberdeen

this vid is well nuts HAHA

    cool vid guys :L

    lmfao its so "waldorf" haha

  • I used to go to waldorf

I have to say that it was kind of an extended elementary school

  • Watch the video: waldorf macht frei, and you will learn what waldorf is really about from the experience of students...

  • They dont let you play soccer (football) until 6th grade (i am a waldorf student) because they believe you shouldent put your energy into feet this is bullsh... so dont send them to elementary school maybe to waldorf high school...

  • yes it is private i go to the one in gardin city its very nice but supriseingly its not that espensive

  • its amazing that you go to Waldorf and can't spell "Garden", "Surprisingly" and "Expensive"

  • Is waldorf education private...maening do parents have to pay large amounts of money for their children to play in the dirt ?

  • i like waldorf very much (I'm in class 8 of the Hungarian Waldorf Szeged) and yeah, i hate eurythmy too. This school is really my choice, i wanted to learn here, and i'm really delighted with it. Unofortunately i can't learn english langauge subject vell, because we have spanish langauge in the same time, that's why. Btw as I said before, I can live a full and happy life with Waldorf ^^

  • ya more like every time i walk in this door i wanna die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • I don't know, it just creeps me out. Always will. What's dark and depressing for a child is trying to pretend something doesn't exist (like a black crayon). Yikes.

  • What's up with not using black crayons. Seems racist.

  • well yeah i agree with you on the racist thing too, but it's really there cuz the Waldorf curriculum doesn't want darkness in a childs life. so i'm guessing black is too dark, and depressing... i used to go to a Waldorf school, and we received black crayond in about 5th or 6th grade, and it was sooooo amazing!!! it's kinda stupid if you ask me!!

  • black is technically not a color black is the absence of light

as much is i disliked not being able to use black

  • Im an artist. Its a shade, not a color.

  • And an absence of light making it NOT a color. Im sorry newhoff you were accepted at waldorf.

  • you mean where?

  • Yes, you're right. Heil Steiner!!!

  • You see, now you get it.. Good work.

  • HELL YEAH!!!!

  • Exactly

  • Obviously your grammar is SO much better...I don't want to comment on your emotions or train of thoughts.

  • The first Waldorf school was founded in Austria in 1916. Check your history books, probably you have one. In waldorf we dont have text books, we read many books to learn about one subject, also known as "research".

  • If only you took the time to read a simple comment, and be able to process it through your brain...I was reffering to your comment "Heil Steiner" Waldorf was established 1916, hitler became leader of the Nazi's 1921, and gained power 1933. Since your so smart and know very well about WWII you would be able to conclude that your comment "Heil Steiner" is flawed. Second, to prove that black isnt a color, when you shine a light through a prism do you see black? Let see your answer.

  • Brain washed? I knew that black wasnt a color since my mother and I decided to draw and paint together, before I even knew Waldorf existed. Well I already have invested a lot of time with you so all I really have to say is, even though you've attented Waldorf and claimed you've learned nothing, you really just failed them. I feel sorry for you, your just a little kid filled with hate and empty words.

  • Also in waldorf we dont learn about WWII until highschool for various reasons. "An science" is only observations and conclusions in grade school. It's later in highschool we learn the concepts of a "fire pit" and take our observations from grade school and put it together with new information. Capital of iran: Tehran, guess Waldorf isn't so stupid.

  • That was actually drummer who said Heil steiner but whatever. Yeah I went to waldorf school I dropped out last year cause I couldn't stand the bullshit. Half the class were socially retarded and the other half were a punch of pot head hippies. I knew more history, science and had better english skills then most of my teachers. So I'm going to conclude that waldorf is stupid.

  • yeah. i go to waldorf. 7th grade. i hate it, but the football team won the championships

  • Why do you hate it? :o

  • I was obliged to memorize a lot of stuff and i truly hated it and now i can't remember nothing cuz i hated doing it. I don't have pleasant memories of my childhood. There were TOO MANY subjects and too much to learn. Actually the subjects were treated too objectively at school or the teachers didn't care about our life experiences (so we could have understood well the subject).I'm trying to say that if you don't have an experience(not only physical experiences) about a phenomenon,[...]

  • I have to say it, waldorf is not a great school. I went there from kindergarten to 8th grade, it was okay till fourth grade but after that I hated it. They taught nothing at all nothing. It was also a little creepy about how cultish it was I swear to god at times it seemed like a USSR brainwashing camp. Now I go to public school and love I'm learning stuff (finally) and consider my waldorf experience a waste of time and money. I HIGHLY SUGGEST avoiding waldorf education like a plague.

  • That's it, that's the purpose of this school. Actually you WANT to learn NOW after you have had fun at the Waldorf school. When you are young you tend to play and have fun 'cuz you're growing like a normal child. I went to pubblic school since i was 7, but i was never taught the true values of man, i was never taught loyalty, i was never taught to respect and to be brave, to be confortable about myself, to empower my will, [...]

  • No sorry your wrong, never taught the true values of man? What kind of bull is that I'm sorry but unless you have something wrong with you you don't need to be taught morals. And don't tell me how I'm 'growing like a normal child' don't give me that. Because I have to disagree waldorf never helped me okay so you're just wrong so please save your preaching for someone who has already bought into the waldorf cult

  • ok newhoff, i don't know how old you are, but if your under 25, you think Waldorf is crap!!i totally agree with you on that!! but after 25, you and Waldorf children are gonna be the only ones left on the planet who know how to do any kind of shit. honestly, (don't get me wrong on public school too) but you'll realize that u will have ideas and an outstanding educated background... just watch out!!

  • I'm 15 sorta I mean you can learn that stuff elsewhere and really, eurythmy needs to be lost to the ages.

  • yeah i agree eurythmy's gotta go bye bye, even if my grandmother was the first eurythmist in america! but you'll enjoy it later in life!!

  • toa dd on what i said before since i ran out of room public school also try to brain wash were as a relegious friend of mine got suspended for reading a bible in school. public schools have the authority to squelch your freedom of speech and can easily expell you for things that go against them because the laws legally make the schools your parental gaurdians during the time period your in it.

  • First of all I'm going to disagree with you politically George Bush has done NOTHING good with the exception of sending money to fight aides he's done nothing. Next, that's not squelching your free speech you clearly have no idea what this first amendment says and you clearly have no idea about the first amendment clauses. Waldorf education was a waste of my time it did nothing for me they hounded me for following politics and when I expressed that I was an Atheist they constantly tried....

  • you have every right to your politcal opinion and im not going to try and sway you

but in a public school i have seen children get in trouble for bringing a bible

if a teacher so feels inclined if you dissagree you can be punished for insubordination even if you are polite

may i ask when you graduated?

  • I haven't graduated yet, I just finished my freshmen year at public school. I left the waldorf system two years ago and damn have I been happy since. First of all religion has no place in public school, its unconstitutional. I've had text books taken away at a waldorf school because they didn't "go" with the ol' Rudolf's philosophy.

  • i was in a public school until 7th grade then i went to SGWS

and it was by far the best school experiences ive ever had

this school is not cultish ihoweever it does strive to keep children from focusin on the stereo types presented by the media (ie for the last 3 years nothing good has been said about bush other than that he was gone while he has done a number of positive things for our country) and the school enchourages the students to formalize their own opinions and think for themselves

  • To dissuade my belief. Now there were aspects I liked but not that many, I like the diversity in public schools because in its attempt to shelter children waldorf education makes it very hard to learn anything there is little homework and no study books. If it worked for you that's great but it didn't work for me thank you. I'm now happily attending public school.

  • Yes it is religious

  • i went there i would know

  • I went to this school. All I can say is that it was the best choice my parents ever made for me.

  • Everyone has their own opinion and I'm sure each parent does their share of research before sending their kids to any school, other than public. I have personally toured this school and have spoken to several teachers and students. There is no doubt in my mind that my daughter will go here!

  • i still say copley public schools are better (no effense) my old art teacher has kids at waldorf though.

  • I wish there was a Waldorf School near us, my kids would DEFINITELY be going. Instead we have chosen to homeschool. The private schools here are Catholic, haven't got much to choose from.

  • waldorf pwnz all ur nuby schools

  • i go to rudolf steiner school too. in germany. it's different then there.

  • waldorf educated children and adults are the most well rounded, intelligent artistic, and creative people i have ever encountered..whomever is "against" this way of teaching and learning is out of their never loving mind...

  • waldorf sucks

  • i go to a rudolf stiender school this school makes ours looks like shittt

    i'v learned like nothing

  • no shit its not a religious school

  • Brainwashed???

  • I was in and out of waldorf school (financial reasons) They were the happiest years of my childhood. Now my kids attend. And yes, I have read all the anti-steiner materials. Truly shocking, but absolutely not at all relevant to the education I got or my children are getting.

  • YAY ! i am in there three times!

  • check this shit out!!!

  • I go to a waldorf school in colmar-france

  • Mao

  • I absolutely loved waldorf

  • Hi. I graduated from Waldorf here in Sweden this spring (19 years old). And I must say I'm SO glad my parents put me to this school when I was 7. Since I havent gone to any other school, it's hard for me to say whether or not it's a normal school ;P I can't descirbe how much I miss going to waldorf! Im pretty sure, that when I get children of my own, they will go to the same school as I did :)

  • And be indoctrinated in anthroposphy. You went to the school and will send your kid there have you actually READ any of Steiner's beliefs? Do you know what it is all about? It's about some races evolving through reincarnation to high planes, who will be spritually ready for the great world epoch to lead the "evil" races who aren't spiritually evolved - Steiner's word- evil. The schools are there to spiritually prepare the kids. Rudolf Steiner archive- it's all there, get reading!

  • Waldorf is great I go to Spring Garden.

  • Comment removed

  • waldorf school is very good

    You can actually be yourself!

  • What's the problem??? If they feel people need to reincarnate then so what? They are certainly entitled to their spiritual beliefs.

  • The problem is that they cover up the anthroposophical core of their education. I wonder if it's even mentioned in Spring Garden's literature? It isn't mentioned in the school my kids went to- they are secretiveand. evasive

  • And what scares me is that the high school Waldorf adolescents spend their spare time in the forest dancing around the bonfire. Now there are lots of healthy activities out there like sailing, karate, etc. Now if that's not bizarre, I don't know what is.

  • Steiner school aren't state funded in the UK, we have no amenities to speak of so we have to make do. We have a really tight budget. You are an idiot if you believe dancing around fires is all they do.

  • Sailing and karate are bizarre?

  • Yeah, well if I tell them that I reincarnated from George Patton because I thrilled with anything military-related, then I probably be kicked out of Waldorf school.

  • Not kicked out, I'm sorry, I probably be burnt at the stake.

  • You're being silly. If that's what you think then you have a strange conception of what the school is like.

  • If thats what you have to say, then you've never gone to one of these schools. I went for 11 years now im in a public school and every day i wish i could go back.

  • Anthroposophista and Steiner followers are welcome to believe whatever they like- that's not my point- they try to diguise their education system as natural, progressive,& liberal- when their real agenda is to help people reincarnate for the greater good of- anthroposophists- or mankind they would say.

Strange that no one has come on to deny or argue for any of this...

  • The real agenda is to educate and bring really nice people into the world who aren't fucked up.

  • I wonder how much Steiner you've read. His theories on evolution for instance, or the aryan race, occultism cosmic and astral forces- fine for those who believe it- just don't hide it under the guise of a natural, progressive education.

  • Nothing is hidden. There are libraries. The Internet. Freewill. If you had a bad experience at the Steiner school you went to, I'm sorry for you. Are they having a better time at state school. Maybe YOU fit in better there my friend.

  • So it's natural to have 30 plus kids in a class? It's natural for 5 year olds to start reading and writing at such an early age when they should still be playing. SAT's - tests that cause anguish and heartache? Steiner is natural, progressive and liberal. Their real agenda is to create amazing members of the human race.

  • Tenguineas, what weird things do you believe in? I think most Christians believe in communicating with the spirit world and the Bible is based on myth. Are you an atheist or something? I won't hold it against you since I'm open-minded.

  • Christians believe in communicating with God, not with some spirit. And no, Bible is historical account written with some metaphors. Get your facts straight.

  • That is bollocks

    go to zeitgeistmoviedotcom

  • The Bible, an Historical account? I think not!

  • talking about geting facts right, if christians do not believe in comunicating with some spitit, what do u make of the holy spirit?

In the name of the father, the son, and of the holy spirit.

  • Hi- well - I believe the darwinian theory of evolutuion- which Steiner doesn't- he believed humans were around at the time of dinasaurs(?) and evolved in the mythical land of Atlantis...oh yes- and strangely that the highest evolved race he believed was ayran...

  • Humans were around the time dinosaurs? Are they viewing The Flinstones as if it was a documentary?!

  • the human/ dinosaur coexisting thing is called creationism and steiner did not believe in that...sarah palin does though...haha :-D

  • Open-minded? From my experience working there, I've seen the most narrow-minded culture. Drawing classes that discourages the use of the color black, insistent use of water colors, teaching mythology as history, outcasting children who wear designer clothing, concealing the consumerism from children, and etc. For speaking my mind, I was intentionally ignored, so I got out of there before they do something scary like burning me at the stake.

  • And now you think the Bible is an historical account? Just what did you learn once you left?

  • I love gnomes and fairies! I'm all for what Waldorf teaches.

  • Hey what kind of a drug are you shooting that could make you so delusional? Can you prescribe some for me?

  • Comments about the true nature of Steiner Waldorf education are being blocked on youtube.Steiners beliefs are more sinister than one could believe- his views on evolution, race and learning difficulties are never openly talked about.Anthroposophists are secretive and evasive. Read up on steiner before you fall for the child centred holistic education.

  • You've got some kind of conspiracy theory going. If comments are being blocked, how come yours wasn't. Who do you think controls youtube anyway? The answer is that nobody controls it. Anyone can post a video, and the only one who can block a comment on a particular video is the individual who posted that video. If you're worried about censorship, you're barking up the wrong tree.

  • Hi- thanks for replying- it's not a theory- Eugene Schwartz seems to be blocking comments that mention anthroposophy in relation to Steiner Waldorf and eurythmy.I don't think Steiner Waldorf are open about anthroposophy- and I also believe alot of people involved don't really have a clue either- there are a few main players hoping to save humankind by reincarnation.

  • The videos are only being blocked by on poster- who obviously wants people to think Steiner waldorf is all about a child centred liberal progressive education- that's the way it's put accross. Some people then actually READ Steiner- and find out that anthroposophy is the true agenda. They should be upfront, open and honest.

  • hehe my last name is waldorf

  • Steiner Waldorf education is rooted in anthroposophy- a spiritual science/religion. Behind the facade of rosy cheeked natural kids, is an occult belief system, who's purpose is to help children to re-incarnate.Followers believe all humans have the ability to communicate with the spirit world, myth is taught as history, gnomes are thought to be true life forms, left handedness, dyslexia and learning difficulties are seen as re-incarnation problems..

  • I really enjoyed this. I wish my daughter could attend this school.

  • No way, they discourage television, designer clothing, technology, and etc. If Waldorf is trying to teach free thinking, then they should encourage kids to be exposed to anything.

  • and etc? Kids are exposed, they aren't in prison. They have designer clothing probably, but not in school. If you want to think freely try switching off the TV. Exposure to pornography, shit companies trying to sell you their shit things ETC. We don't have a tv, at the moment my daughter is making apple pies and playing the piano. Would you rather she was in front of the TV?

  • at 3:07 thats my freind dhyani in the mayday celebration. she was climning a tree because the pinata was stuck. they didint show the funny part though were Evan tried 2 help dhyani up and ended up pusjiong her but. it was so funny and he he thats when i said we should put this on youtube and they did!

  • i go 2 that school

  • I like it!

  • wow thats weird

  • Normal schools are weird..., think about it.

  • your right it is nonsense... I mean why on earth would someone want to have a child be educated in anything other the the public school system.. maybe so they would actually learn to think for themselves or something. Pretty silly I agree. Sheesh!

  • ooh boy ... please stop this nonsens

  • ugh i go there in canada
