Doc this was a Great and informative video! I live here in pismo beach and have heard a lot of good things about you in the cigar world here locally. Hopefully I will get to light up and learn a lot more from you one day!
I recently bought a box of La Traviata Radiante Maduros. The cigars are individually wrapped in cellophane. I left it on there while I visited the United States. Now the cigars are safeley in my humidor back in Europe. Should I remove the cellophane or can I leave it on there?
@321bangbang123 If you are going to smoke them right away, I recommend taking the cello off. But, if you will be aging them for some time, leave it on. The cello slows aging. Also, either way you go, leave some with the cello on so they are easier to travel with. The cello helps to protect them and keep them humidified when you take them out for the evening or on a weekend trip. Enjoy!
So I fwd the video to a few friends. They all agree with Jose in regards to all these "Fancy Smancy" notes that people say they pick up. So my question to you as a Blogger/ Editor. Do you think this info will change peoples way of describing a cigar now? How do you feel personally? I'm going to take note on this and see if I notice a change in editors reviews. Take Care Doc.

@chazzajo I don't think it will change much because taste perceptions are unique to the individual. Even Jose said so. So, I think it means that there is still room for a wide variety of descriptions of the flavors of cigars. That said, I'm with Jose, I've never tasted pencil lead. ;-)
@KyDugong It is a balance between the body, flavor and strength of a cigar. Jose was saying that these three components should be found in harmony and and no one of them dominates. So, you want a cigar that has sufficient strength, but is not overwhelmingly strong. Good body, but not overwhelming in body, etc. The smoker should sense all three components.
@docstogiefresh This is the most confusing aspect of cigar smoking to me. Various websites have a way of using the terms 'strength', 'flavor', and 'body' interchangeably. Do you have a vid on this? If not, it would be a good topic. I think of 'strength' as nicotine content, 'flavor' as a descriptor in the range from bland to bold, and have to admit I am completely confused by what 'body' means.
@KyDugong Body is the texture or feel of the tobacco and the smoke on our palate and respiratory mucosa. These textures or the sensations they produce in the mouth and nose can be either more or less prominent, representing fuller or lighter body. Flavor is our perception of the taste and smell of a cigar. Full flavored cigars have distinct and easily perceived flavors, while mild flavored cigars are subtly and delicately flavored.....
@KyDugong ....Strength is the combined affect of the tobacco chemicals on our internal systems. The intensity of your reaction to the cigar chemicals: "nicotine hit," "woozy feeling," etc., will determine how strong a cigar is for you.
If you're picking up other things then you're not smoking a cigar you're smoking something else. ;p

why did he ask whether people blow out smoke by the nose?

@SanderVerheul1978 He was referring to the practice of retrohaling. See my video: "Retrohaling Your Cigar Smoke.
