ive always been interested in praying mantis but dont know much about them, do u have experience with keeping them as pets ?? Do they make good pets?///////////////////
Can somebody please tell me something these little mantis things are awesome and i see them attacking stuff ALL THE TIME im wondering if i kept one as a pet wouldnt it attack me?
Judging by the spines on her forearms, the white ones that come in a row of 4 each arm, this is probably a Sphodromantis, which is the African mantis.
Actually it seems the guy holding the mantis is holding her gently. Just enough to keep her from moving, but not long enough to really distress her. Sometimes, if need be, I quick pick a mantis up by the pronotum if I need to transport them quickly. If I'm not in a hurry though, I let them crawl to their destination. Cute fellas ^_^
its a praying mantis, HOO HOO HOO HOO, its amazing what you have to work with him HAW HAW HAW HAW, *yes youre a praying mantis* MM MMM, soundslike you were gonna eat him
Why the gloves? Very simple: there is no relation between gloves and insect. We very sitting in the Chinese hinterland working away on rock samples (hence the gloves), when this little bugger suddenly appeared. This was not a tamed PM, this one lived there. This also explains our inexperience in handling PMs. In fact, I had never seen one live before.
@HargreavesCalgary they can pintch yer finger wont do any damage at all might be a bit trippy feeling i was obsessed as a kid use to let them crawl all over, they are harmless to people
because they actually hurt when they grab you with their forearms. for a small bug, they got a grip that would be many times stronger then a gorilla. if it was the same size.
why is it chinese?
