Thats pretty sick bro. I also own a 01 civic, but not enough money for a turbo system. got any reccomendations for the nitrous? ive only upgraded i/h/e and no internal work so would a 50 shot or 75 shot work best? and should i go with a wet system or a dry? thanks, and keep up the work
@Slimrisk Thanks. I went boost for about $2,000. Wasn't too bad.. I traded my nitrous kit for about $600 of it, then bought Hondata kpro and a few other things.
If you have a cat, get a test pipe.. So much better, you need as much flow as you can get. When I was all motor and spraying, I went with a ported n polished head, then slapped a stage 2 3/4th race cam in it. But I ran a Zex wet kit, you need to run wet 'cause our motors are returnless fuel system. Also, I ran a 75 shot max on my motor
@Vilex Do I need to do any internal work besides the cam? (Pistons, rods, head studs, crank) or will I be just fine? and Im a highschooler who works for minimum wage so $2000 is a lot for me lol
@Slimrisk Nah. I'm pushing about 250whp on a stock block.. I'm alright for now. But to answer your question, no. If you are gonna run nitrous, I would at least get a set of ARP headstuds to prevent headlift, their pretty cheap and a great investment.
But I hear you lol, I work full time, it's taken me 3 years to get my car where it is today.
@weatherkid0707 Not hard at all. Just unbolt the stock exhaust manifold from the head, and the downpipe, and put the header in. Easy as that. I'm running a race header now, 75 shot of nitrous, ported vtec head, and tuned on AEM FI/C. Soon to be putting in a crower stage 2 3/4 race cam.
I think it did that because I only gave the car a minute or two to warm up. It was in about 40ish degree weather. It sounds alot better when its warmed up, like my takeoff at the ending.
Yes, it's more responsive, you can feel the gain through the whole RPM range, and it adds an agressive sound that I LOVE, it sounds so mean and badass.
Yeah, no problem. Just make sure you get Header and exhaust too (Preferably 2.25" piping from the cat back), you'll get more flow and less restriction. But, no doubt you'll be satisfied with the sound for sure. The gains are minimal, but you can still feel and tell they are there.

dang, usually adding headers makes the sound crackle, not good. but theres none here, you think it was the exhaust that did that?
