LOL everytime Kermit's exasperated and he curls his nose-or mouth or whatever since he just said he doesn't have a nose-I always DIE laughing. Every time. Have ever since I was a little kid! Sesame St just isn't the same w/out Kermit!
This is so weird because i specifically remember Kermit asking Grover for some nose muffs to keep his nose warm on the clip where Grover tries to sell him some earmuffs. he says how about some nose muffs *sniffs* you know keep my nose warm.
And here I thought billy mays was the best sale pitcher! lol " You don't have a nose for one of my nose warmers... that's okay... I'll throw one in your deal for free after purchasing two of my lovely warmers for just 4 easy payments of $19.95!"
beside that iI love "froggy" and grover... I just realized that grover said "Gesundheit" when Kermit sneezed....didn't know that you say that in English (I'm German), so that was funny too :)
I just realized how friggin' hilarious it is to see Kermit talking on the phone with his legs crossed. Just one of those funny little Muppet things. :-P
Kermit, if I were you, I'd have a peephole put on your door, so you can look through and see who it is. And if it's Grover, don't answer the door, for crying in the bucket!
Remember when Grover sells Kermit earmuffs... Kermit asks him if he has some other types of "muffs" like tummymuffs, bellybuttonmuffs and shouldermuffs, and he also says "nosemuffs", so i'm wondering... during the time after Grover sold earmuffs till this one when he sells nose warmers, Kermit must've lost his nose! :D
But for the fact that its a different character and personality, one could somehow assume (from the voices) that its Miss Piggy bugging Kermit as usual.
Sesame Street still has some funny moments, when Elmo isn't around. Parodies of Mad Men, Extreme Makeover, and Law and Order (Special Letters Unit) are quite funny. However Sesame Street and The Muppets will never be quite the same without Jim Henson. He put his soul into Ernie, Kermit, and others.
Kermit is more loyal because he and Jim Henson started the muppets, and made what it became of Sesame Street and other programs. It's not unusual for him to be the victim of Grover's saleman service. And, he and Grover share together during lectures and children moments, so they know each other quite well.
Funny how here Kermit says he doesn't have a nose, and yet in the earmuffs clip, he suggests that Grover should sell nosemuffs instead, implying that he does have one.
Pure Genius! Love how Kermit was chatting with his agent "Bernie" about "playin' Vegas"!!!!! Throwing some comic relief in for all the mommy's and daddy's trying not to fall asleep while they watch with the little ones at 6am!
On 1:30, Kermit shouts at Grover because he needed to get his attention and then Grover turns around and shouts "What is it?" and then Kermit tells him the situation.
Cause he is played by Frank Oz who also did the voice for Yoda from the Star Wars films. I like it when he did lis 'light-saber battle' in the 2nd Episode ['Attack of the Clones'].
This skit is soo funny. Most of the skits back in the day were hilarious. It's a real shame they took Kermit off the show now. Sad. Skits aren't funny anymore..everything is computerized. Eh...
Gesundheit! :-) In Germany Grover is called Grobi aka Supergrobi. Lefty the Salesman = Schlemihl (a jewish word), Herry = Lulatsch, Sherlock Hemlock = Sherlock Humbug, Herbert Birdsfoot = Herbert Leichtfuß, Big Bird = Bibo, Count the count = Graf Zahl...
Kermit seems to get more exasperated by the Sesame Street monsters than he does his friends on the Muppet Show. I just saw some clips of him with Elmo and Elmo seems to annoy him as much as Grover does here.
'When a person sneezes, German, Yiddish, and often English speakers typically say Gesundheit! to wish them good health, serving much the same purpose as "bless you" in English. Arrived in America with early German immigrants, Pennsylvania Dutch, and passed into local English usage in areas with substantial German-speaking populations. First widely attested in American English in 1910, about the time when large numbers of Yiddish-speaking Ashkenazi Jews immigrated to the US.'
Yes, its is, which I know since I am german. I just didn't know that it is a common expression in the english language. Jesus, obviously I can still learn from Sesame street.
I dind't know that is was a common expression o.0 To be quite honest, I've never heard anyone say it at all. Though it does ring a bell. Perhaps in the few German lessons I attended, it might have been said.
