There is actually a way to do it in Test Chamber 17 in which GLaDOS actually does open the door for you. Simply prop the Companion Cube against the door at an angle, then step on the switch yourself so that the door opens and the cube falls into place between the two doors. The cube will keep the door open when you step off the switch, so you can go over to it, jump over the cube, and pull it in with you.
It's interesting how the game only recognizes the cube being trapped, but not the player.
