  • if ure still wondering.um.. INTERNATIONALLL!! the two r so incomparable! ull see nothing new in aussie ull just fly across desert, whilst on the other hand u get to see the world working internationally. i would have loved to do it, but i dont think its very suitable for females nway.

  • Well I started at 19 fly for jetstar and do both domestic/international get the best of both worlds!

  • @flightie777 u are a load of bullshit! FYI Jetstar have bases in Asia who are recruited by Jetstar Mainline thou employed by Valueair! Also we have Japanese crew based in Australia who r direct employees!

  • With the economy at this stage fly for Either Qantas/Jetstar you will have definate job security! The qantas group has just realesed thier profit for this financial an yet again one of the only airlines in the world to make a profit!Virgin are spending sooo much money lately even thou they lost so much last year! And they have no fall back!

  • My cousin worked for Emirates for 8 yr without domestic experience. She absolutely loved it was stationed at Dubai, was constantly in and out of Lebanon. However, in the end she missed her family although she had holiday leaves to visit her family occasionally. But the experience was worthwhile. Also youll be a company priority seeing that u can communicate in Arabic.

  • In the end I really hope that everything does work out for you and hopefully it will. Its also important to do what you feel is right for you and what makes you happy. Stay positive and be happy! :)

    I hope that helped! :D

  • Hmm I know you uploaded this video like a while ago so I dont know if you still need any advice or not haha

But I think that you should take one step at a time and not rush into things. If you were to go to international then maybe things would change for you too soon. I also agree that you should try Virgin Blue so that way you could gain some experience and see how things are for you before moving up to something bigger.

  • apply to both, and see who replies first....

  • Hey mate. You should fly Virgin Blue for domestic for a year or two then go to V australia which is owned by virgin blue. Definately dont go with jetstar or qantas their crap.

  • Man Jetstar just offered me an interview. I think i should just go yeh? Start anywhere kind of deal? I know Virgin is ideal for me but i have been waiting for months! :-(

  • hey rami why dont you become a pilot and earn real money. become rami the super pilot and fly everywhere

  • Hi , so i want to tell you that i've worked for a national airline on my country. You can get a lot of experience working there but there is a moment when you start wondering how is like to fly international. You can realize about this because if you ask a lot of persons why do they fly national , they will say they don't speak another language so they can't , but they would like to. I can say also that on national flights you have to work faster because of the short time.

  • Dude u cant be fussy on who you work for. Take what you can. Its not easy to get in trust me....... Have you applied for any?

  • I got lazy on looking lately. Qatar airways was hiring/interviewing the day i found their job advertisement, sadly i viewed the ad a few hours too late :-(. Its a promising sign though that cabin crew positions should be coming in soon.

  • How has your search for change gone mate ? ; )

  • Virgin are "hiring soon" prior to this they said they had nothing, so i am being patient and getting mentally prepared, within a coupla months i am sure. :-)

  • hey Rami...Australian carriers still have white australia policy and as an arab, most pobably you wont get hired..you will have a better chance working for emirates..its very hard work and it can get lonely but the rewards are great.good luck

  • @flightie777 White Australia Policy? You are so full of sh1t. I worked for Jetstar and I can tell you we had people from all over the world. In fact there is a Bangkok and Singapore base with no white people. In my ground school I had people from India, Phillipenes, Japan and even a guy with the first name Mohammed which should dispel your idiotic notion that arabs don't get hired. Don't spread stuff on public forums that make Australians appear racist or bigoted.

  • @thejetstarjump I have worked for QF but only on the ground. The ones that you are talking about( if they were Moslems) they were hired prior to 9/11. QF hires some asians because they need native speakers. Also FYI , QF hires contractors through a couple of agencies..those people who are mainly asians, are NOT hired by QF..they are on those agencies payroll ..Do u understand now..smarty pants!

  • I think you should start small with Virgin Blue and eventually work your way up. From what I see in your video you're obviously very apprehensive about going International, so go with your first instinct and do what you're ready for first. It might be more fulfilling than you think.

  • good on you for taking a plunge to the next step in your life. hey how bout virgin galactic, go to space man. XD.

seriously i reckon you should do international, if it's more pay and theirs more money.

  • I think its easier to go international when your young and to go domestic when ur older...but having said that i wouldnt wanna live in dubai away from family etc...

  • I think you should start small with virgin blue then after move on with emirates. dont jump into a big rensposibility of long hours and being away from your family. learn what you need to know first with virgin blue and if you've discovered you enjoy traveling and would want to explore more of the world then move up to emirates. But whatever you choose just make sure that you will enjoy what you're doing and not just because of the big salary you're going to get. I wish the best luck for you. :)

  • Why settle for just Emirates? Etihad is a much more superior airline when it comes to service and fleet (even if they don't have an A380, which they will be soon). Virgin Blue isn't really branching internationally V Australia is part of the Virgin branding, however, they are not Virgin Blue. Furthermore, if you went with Virgin, they could make you relocate to another city, and you may not necessarily be rostered on any sydney flights...

  • ...Emirates I do know pay for two flights home per year, and one flight for your family member to visit in Dubai. Why not also look at other long haul airlines such as Virgin Atlantic? I know that QANTAS long haul currently are not recruiting (neighbour is long haul CSM, trainer AND recruiter) however it is more cruisy as they get to stay in each destination city (eg London, Los Angeles) for 3-4 days at a time. Emirates is 24hr layover, and sometimes even only 4-5 hours to clean and refuel.

  • Very handy information, i guess Emirates was more of a international guide for me, not a neccessity, i would be happy to be a little more flexible than that. Useful tips though!

  • Hi Ramey your young, and you only live once I say go International have fun see the world!!!! I know you'll make the right choice!! best of luck

  • I would say Emirates. It's really hard to be away from your family and friends. But, I think it will be easy for you to make new friends and as for your family, you could always request flights to SYD so you can see them more often. The problem is, Emirates is currently holding their global assessment days. I don't know when will it resume. For the mean time, I guess you can work for Virgin Blue first. You can always transfer to another airline if you think you're not happy with them. Goodluck!

  • hello there. i was like you and wanting to make a career move and become a cabin crew at a reputable airline and so i did. at first it was so exciting and so glamorous. but that feeling was short lived. you get bored, tired, overworked and most of most, very low paid. i stayed one year and ran for the nearest exit out. would i do it again??? no way. i would rather be a passenger getting served and not being back in the galley wishing i never became a flight attendant.

  • I've always wanted to be a flight attendant though many of my mates were like- THAT IS GAY! Having said that I would love to do International - though because I'm attached to my family and all I think it'd be hard. Maybe start on Virgin and see how you go.. Just a note I was on Emirates 2 years back ( going to Europe) the service was shocking- the hostess were forgetfull and a little arrogant. Emirates is living on past merits. Singapore Airlines is so far my favourite.

    Good Luck mate ....

  • ive always wanted to be a flight attendant! ill apply as soon as i turn 21 (minimum age requirement for emirates) however i wouldnt mind starting domestically..as exactly wat uve said-gather the necessary skill and then move up. emirates is very picky with their choice of employees so by workin at virgin blues first, it can give u a huuuuge advantage over the non-experienced ppl. also workin domestically wudnt be a really dramatic change. so personally id start in Oz. good luck n luv ur videos!

  • Hi Rami! I wish you lot's of luck, and If I were in your shoe's, I'd definetly go for the Emmirates!! It's not easy getting in there ... you'll need an UAE passport too before getting fully accepted, but you'd have so many advantages for you and your family if you take this offer I think, and especially, culturally :)

  • ramey definitely emirates becoz, a.more prestige b. more money c.dubai is a verrry beautiful country one of my friends just moved there nd shes living the good life....and last but not least better looking colleagues hehehe(this judgement is based on flying with emirates once). oh yeah nd yes pleeeeeeeease put up millions of more arab parody videos am actually waiting in anticipation for the laughs hahaha. but remeber ur flight excercises if u chose emirates;deep vein thrombosis.

  • Hey Ramey. I was about to suggest you work for Virgin Blue but as money seem to be more of an importance to you, I suggest Emirates. However, I feel you'd be more happy at Virgin Blue Airlines. I've recently flown with them a few days ago and they have a wonderful sense of humor. You'd be able to develop skills and gain experience before taking the big leap to Emirates. Also, domestic flights can be a bit of a small test to see how you'd cope with the hours so you perhaps start at the bottom gl

  • Hi Ramey. I reccomend the international simply because you are young enough for crazy hours/time zones. you can always do something else when you're older.

  • ohhh this is the best decision i always wanted 2 be a flight attendent but never had the chance u should go for it with the UAE airlines ..they r the best .

  • if i were you i'd go for emirates. if you chose virgin blue, after a few months or so, you may start wishing you chose emirates instead. you could always come back to virgin blue couldnt you?

  • True but what if the long flights, hours and seperation disillusion me to the job and its potential greatness? I thought its best to work up - instead of work down? This is tricky!

  • it could turn out to be the best decision of your life. i do however think you suit virgin blue. with your laid back personality and sense of humour, you'd do well and it could sort f ease you in.

you should try imagine youve picked one, and see if youre still tihnkin about the other.

  • emirates~~~~~ ramey~~ get more different experience ~~ dun worry~ ur family and friends will understand~~ u r young~~~ life is short~~ hav fun~~ come on~~ Lol

  • yea ramio... go for international so you can see the world... your family and friends will support you for it

  • Wow Dubai! See the world. Life is about taking risks. If you don't do it now, when are you gonna do it?

  • wow! i would definitely go international to see the world and enjoy life ,coz LIFE IS SHORT dude!

go ahead bro and just do it !

    wish u the best.

  • Very encouraging, thank you.!

  • btw, why would u go for this career?!

from ur channel, i can see that u can be a great comedian actor!! heheheheheh :-)

i have subscribed ur channel long time ago.

    U ROCK Ramio !!

    good luck with ur choice.

  • Okay the only thing that I would say that is sort of negative about the whole going in as a flight attendant would be that you might find yourself out of a job sometimes because they go through layoffs. I went to a bar here where they were having a layoff party for all of the pilots/attendants and they were having a good time but the problem is, they were out of a job unless they were rehired.

Now, that may not be a bad thing for you, because you can always visit Sydney again...

  • Yeah true we are living under very testy times lately, nothing is truely secure i believe - but regardless people will always travel so i have some confidence in that.

  • Life is short! See the world!

  • Thanks Steven!

  • ERRRRRRRRR. the longest flight is 4hrs long! but u would be good on virgin, the girls a SO HOT fly them all the time for work! don't go international mate, domestic frist!! you know me LOL come to your work the other day :P

  • Hey Ben. Serious? How long is Sydney to Perth? Only 4 hours? I was hoping for a tad more. I know man i have seen the "virgin girls" they are wow....What can i say? Hope you're well!

  • Which matters more to you.. seeing the world or your family and friends? lol

  • LOL i know i know, plus i can always make friends overseas too. Yet i still havent seen my own country either (which is beautiful too) hahaha.

  • Thats a tough call, your points are valid for both! But maybe u should research into life living in Dubai first? so you know what you're getting into. airlines I like are Air France, R J, and Continental (US). Just some intl sugg.

eee...wallah I hate to confuse your decision more, but dom. would be good because of what others said, but..intl as Sarah said

Im sure after giving it some time to simmer, youll get more pros for one than the other Whatever u choose, I wish you the best inshallah!!

  • Thanks Viva, your response leaves me hanging in the middle line but it is very appreciated, good to see the points of both paths then establish what i like when it comes. Cheers.

  • Oh to be free & see the world.

    Go for it! Try international!

And dont worry if it doesnt work out Just do your best & have lots of fun.

    Christ be with you.

  • Thanks for the nice words and support. Be well. :-)

  • you are young and the international experiences would be great you can do domestic later in life when u settle down at least then u can get some good money and save (if u want) and later look back on all the places u went and seen :) anyway rami thats just my opinion do as u like , and lastly u should pray istikharah and then follow ur heart!! :) Allah maak God with you

  • You do raise a very good point about the whole raising good money and seeing things while at the peak of my youth, wow this gets harder doesnt it. Thanks!

  • I don't believe I am hearing this...You go bro..:) You know I'll support you all the way inshallah!

  • Yes i am doing it. Just watch me! :-)

  • I would say, only from what i heard in your video, the VB sounds like a better option at this point. The thing is you can always transfer to international at any point in your career. I lived and worked in Dubai and it sux buddy. Its a huge move and everything around you would change and might be too much to jump into in one step.

  • Wow so Dubai wasnt amazing? They certainly make it sound like an amazing place down here, but you are right it appears it might be too big a jump for me at this point. Hmm.

  • Not really...Dubai is the most souless city ive been to (and ive been to over 35 countries)...the money there can be good but its very conservative that you cant even access porn sites, hook up sites or certain news online...all controlled by the government and there is a high level of discrimination and racism there too...the standards they look for are very high, so it makes sense to start with domestic flight to gain some experience and insight then take the next step eventually

  • Hi Ramio, why do you say your career in hospitality is not paying well ? may i know what are you doing in the hospitality industry ? I am currently an undergrad studying international hotel and tourism management at the uni of queensland. I also dream to be a cabin crew, but not for emirates or virgin blue, but for singapore airlines. Im singaporean.

  • Hey SGboy, Tourism CAN pay well of course depending what sector you are at. I am a tour guide - my last job payed decent, my current not good at all. The job satisfaction though is very high and i clung on to that for a long time. Cool to see you wanna do cabin crew too, you chose a good airline ;-) . Maybe see you in the skies one day comrade!

  • oic, but im doing the "bachelor of international hotel and tourism management" at UQ.....wad a name for a degree.....lol...i still duno wad jobs that degree can qualify me for...

  • Probably not the best idea now because of the current state of the airline industry

Also you would probably be the only straight guy doing that job

  • hahahhahaahhahahahahahaaha

  • Nice call Steven! I might be the only straight guy up there, but do you really think that will be a bad thing?...Hmmm...

    :-)

  • I am really scared about flying, but If you don't have any fear, you should choose international flights... you would have the opportunitty to meet new people and different countries and it would help you a lot with your future! I am sure you are quite capable to work for Emirates or Singapur Airlines without any experience. You have the talent to make this and a lot more! After seeing your work, you should be in the film or television industry...you have the talent!

  • I love flying its a passion of mine. International sounds so so appealing, but i am a patient guy to kind of "move on" to International if i decide domestic. Thanks for the nice words, ahh the good old film industry, i think Youtube is the closest i will get to that.

  • international for sure

  • Emirates? Any other airline you'd reccomend?

  • if u want to go abroad, I would say Etihad Airlines. they recruit people all the time and it's a wonderful airline ! etihad airlines is based in Abu Dhabi.

  • we are still waiting man !

    ur the best !

i really find my dad watching your special 'dad video'

    continue brother : )

  • Ahhh thank you - your patience is great, i hope i make a worthy video for your waiting haha.

  • Hey! I am actually cabin crew for United and I think it's a great idea. I ABSOLUTELY love my job. If you are looking for more financial security I would go with an international carrier, here at United we actually do both domestic and international. Flying internationally is not as difficult as it seems, Except if you plan on working for Emirates you my have to relocate, and that would be a totally different situation. Have you researched to see who is hiring?

  • Hi there. It is fantastic to hear someone boast about their job so confidently. Emirates is my preferred international airline to work for but yes it does mean i must move to Dubai, everyone makes it sound much easier than it is. I havent seen who is hiring just yet but i will very soon - maybe June. Thanks!

  • Something to keep in mind, the sooner you apply the better, it can take several months to get hired, with multiple interviews, tests and such...

  • VERY good point. Is training paid?

  • it depends on the Airline, at United it was not, but they gave us an incentive bonus on the day of graduation, during the 7 weeks of training they did provide all meals 3 times a day and dormitory at the training center

  • Pinkboy thanks just ONE more question hahah i apprecaite it immensely, was training difficult? Thank you!

  • Congrats on your exciting career choice! I used to work for emirates until I switched over to another UAE airline based in AbuDhabi....and Emirates is a wonderful airline to work for. You can see so many places around the world and meet so many great people. With that said, I would consider flying for Virgin Blue for a bit. By doing this, you will have the training and know a bit more of what to expect. Either decision....good luck and look forward to seeing you in the skies!

  • Thanks for the congrats! :-).

This sounds so exciting, the aspect of seeing the world and meeting people sounds like my drive for life. Good point about the training with virgin, just so i can settle into position. Thanks a lot!

  • INTERNATIONAL!!!

  • Wow, that sounds like a demand! lol

  • You know me LOL international would be SOO MUCH FUN!!! are you majnoon???? I would jump on international in an instant!! you would get to travel all over the world!!! Masha'Allah

  • True true ahh gosh this is so hard. Either way i am happy with anything Inshallah, but i am enjoying seeing what others think about it.

  • Uhh Yallah Rami!! Just do it LOL

  • You are so lucky bro.

    I would DEFINITLY pick International.

    I LOVE FLYING.

And whats better than long flights.

Think about it. In the end, when there is no work, when you have attended everyone, you have some free time, in which you can just sit down with the other workers, and enjoy your time. Drink your coffee peacefully.

I am not going to say look out of the window, as I am sure that after a couple of flights, you will get bored of the skies.

  • work singapore airlines, best air line ever.

or do american, my friends mum does tokyo to chicago every other weekend

  • I heard great things for Singapore airlines - good suggestion.

  • work your way up dude, try domestic for awhile and if the spark is still there, then go for international a little later on in life! Not only that... your resume will look A LOT better if you went for an international job!

but the most important thing you can do right now is not to hold back and just GO FOR IT! :)

  • Woooh! That is sound advice. Tnx!

  • virgin blues would be the best

  • Go with Virgin then i can possibly see you haha!

  • rami, hi im one of your subscribers from montreal, canada...my best friend and my sister are flight attendants and they have done both domestic and international...i shall ask them and get back to you!!!! ttyl mate

  • Wow thanks so much that is awesome! :-)
