I think the Regent of the Mask lost to Ryu on purpose and got his soul trapped in Ryu's arm as part of the course but retains his individuality. Now he intends to either get control of Ryu or absorb the power of all those hate filled sols Ryu has killed.

I love ninja gaiden but the direction they are taking this one is well too far of the path id like it to take perhaps i need to see more and i will definitely buy anyways but is this is a flop i wont invest anymore time into ninja gaiden coz it seems they just ignore their fans completely

I find it hard to get into Ninja Gaiden. Its cool, but I prefer games where you start with the easiest difficulty and work up to be a master on harder settings. Ninja Gaiden doesn't do it. It throws you in the deep end and expects you to be great from the start. That can alienate certain players. I do however have a lot of respect for people who can play it well: they are gaming giants.
