State Troopers are spread pretty thin, and they ride alone. So troopers routinely back each other up on traffic stops, man with a gun or other potentially dangerous calls. So when a trooper is whizzing by at 80 to 100 mph. He's usually backing up another trooper. He's not breaking the law, he's enforcing it.
@tksemipro He would be code 3 (Lights and Siren). If he is not Code 3, then obviously the call isn't serious enough to have his lights and siren enabled, thus it's not necessary to speed, either.
@MarkieBhoy17 They mostly enforce traffic laws but within that they are able to find drugs, wanted people and occasionally provide back up for other agencies. They do a lot more than people think.
Hey not starting an argument but just a heads up here, sometimes when a patrol officer is going to a call they do not put on their lights or sirens. Its so they can either have the upper hand on supprise or there are already units on the scene and they are just getting there to provide back up. You shouldnt always judge a book by its cover. In this case you dont really know what the officer was speeding for. It could have been him just speeding but proabably not. Not trying to start an argument
Yea im going to have to go with 43FIRERESCUE43. You could cause a major accident trying to film while driving. Most Emergency workers are trained drivers,Police have the responibility of keeping people safe anywhere, And i dont know if i would be bad talking the people that just might save your, mine, or anyone that reads this life someday ...
@43FIRERESCUE43 - you are absolutely right. i hate those assholes with camera's thinking they're going to change the way the system operates. you are way better off to put the camera down and mind your own business, and your own safety. who knows what the officer's responding to.
I didn't see a State Trooper in the video at all... but whatever, I'll choose to believe you. Your commentary made me want to come through and punch you in the mouth though, I hate people like you who think they are "SO" smart and can say for certain what every trooper is like. Should that trooper have been going over 80mph? Absolutely not. Call the barracks, complain about it. But whining like a bitch on YouTube isn't going to get you anywhere.
My brother is becoming a cop, but he's going to be the non-douche cop. Me, him, and my cousin love motorcycles, and driving fast. He's informed me that if a motorcycle passes him doing a wheelie, he's just going to think about getting home to ride his bike. Now if somone is speeding he'll probably ticket them (got to meet your quota) but I don't think he's gonna sit on the highway unless instructed to do so.
@maffimuk -I don't rape innocent civilians just trying to get to work on the highway everyday like the cops handing out "illegal speeding tax citations". Why, are you an oinker or something? If so do you feel bad about being a financial parasite on the public yet? Or do you lie to yourself and think you are "saving lives" by committing highway robbery on a daily basis? What a joke.
@bdub232 OIC, support the police and you must be one. I won't even bother with the statistics related to the hazards of speeding, and the training officers go through to successfully travel the speeds they do. I won't even bother going into the laws that permit them to speed while they are in route to an incident, which we don't know what this officer was doing, by the way. And BTW, if you must know, I'm a soldier - US Army. So yeah, in a sense I guess I'm your tax parasite.
Yeah, and when cops are going to a bank robbery they should go the speed limit, right? How do you think they catch speeders? Let me give you a hint: by catching up to them.
You obviously have taken the BLUE PILL. This officer was not speeding to a bank robbery or any other crime response. If you want to catch speeders WITHOUT breaking the very law that is enforced, stay on the side of the road...they'll come to you...no need to excessively speed to catch them. BTW, this gentleman was not performing traffic enforcement either, BTW.
By all means, though, continue drinking your Kool-Aid and believing what you want to believe.
@SpeedTrapHunter How do know where he was going, or what he was doing? Did you have the chance to ask him? Why do care what they do anyways? If you are so interested in what they are doing at that time, get their car number or location and contact the department to figure out what was going on. If it is not satisfactory to you then call in a complaint. In this day and age it's pretty easy to start a complaint on an officer or a department.
@SpeedTrapHunter But then the side effect to your complaint will be a slow response time when you need them, then you'll call in a complaint for the long response time. Why don't let the cops do their jobs and you mind your own business and worry about yourself.
@SpeedTrapHunter By blue pill do you mean Viagra? I wish... a four hour hard on... I'd love one..... And if they stay on the side of the road to catch speeders how are they supposed to catch up to the speeders? Teleport? I am curious how you know what he was doing... it's not in the video..... And I like Kool-Aid, why bad mouth it?
@SpeedTrapHunter You started this thread, tell us what you really know about this officer... you don't show us anything in the video..... Just admit it, you don't know what he was doing, you're just pissed that you can't speed too.
@SpeedTrapHunter haha people like you make me laugh. not ever call requires lights and sirens but do require officers to exceed the speed limit. and when your ethe only trooper for an area larger than most cities. you need to be able to get places faster than normal. plus they are trained to drive at higher speeds than self righteous people, such as yourself.
Buddy, You need help! There is nothing worse than a corrupt cop. They speed and break the law because they have immunity wearing that stupid badge on their uniform which the state gives them. We all know that speeding tickets have never been about public safety, but for revenue generating purposes only!!
@wsteagall How is a cop speeding a "corrupt cop?" Do you even know what corruption means? Do you speed? I bet you do, so does that make you a "corrupt" citizen? How about speeding UPS truck drivers? Are they "corrupt" truck drivers? But let's use your terminology... What in the video leads you to believe corruption? This video doesn't show "corruption", it's sole purpose is to fuel the anti-cop sentiment.
@wsteagall I can stand in the middle of the street with a camera and film a cop, ambulance or fire truck going by and post it on Youtube, then I can call it "cop abuses lights." I bet I would get a bunch of people commenting, just like you, on how abusive cops are of their authority. This video doesn't show anything, you can't even see the car or the speedometer, so how do you know what is shown is true. If you want to expose police film it and call in a complaint. Which wasn't done here.
@wsteagall Have seen the thread starter's other videos? I have. He's breaking the law when he tailgates another car showing off his newest radar detector. He gets behind a cop and goes the same speed as a cop, thus he's speeding. But the cop is crooked ("corrupt")? And you actually believe that tickets are generating revenue? How lame. Let me clue you in: since this was filmed in PA, State Police don't get a dime for tickets. Do you have proof that they generate revenue for cops?
So what your saying is its ok for the cops to break the law too!! Every police department and officer has a duty to write a certain amount of speeding tickets per month. Yes its always been a revenue generating business. Thats how departments get new cars, new laser guns and radar guns etc. You show me where writing speeding tickets actually saves lives. Every officer that runs traffic enforcment has to write so many a month. I believe the term your looking for is a Quota..
@wsteagall Again, support the police and you must be one.... so you and others say. Not everyone who takes the time the learn our justice system is a member of it, it's just being educated. If you read the thread you would see that I'm not a police officer, but if you want to think so, who cares. What do you do for living? Put it out there so I can come film it and make fun of you. I got your personal message calling me a PIG, I bet your friend who is a cop would love to hear you say that.
@wsteagall Of course you hate cops, you must have done something to get in trouble or got a ticket, or two, or three. They caught you doing something wrong, like the hall monitor in your school. And like the hall monitor, you hate them equally for holding you accountable for your actions. The true measure of traffic enforcement and handing out tickets can never be measured in "saving lives" because no one would know what would happen if they weren't stopped or didn't slow down for an officer.
@wsteagall But keep on hating cops and what they do, if it makes you feel better. When you need one, remember all these wonderful conversations about the police before you call them. How hard it must be for you to have a friend who's chosen profession is something you hate so much. Who knows, maybe one day you'll get pulled over by your PIG friend and you'll see where his true loyalty is. And you should insist that he gives you a ticket so that he is not become the majority of corrupt cops.
@wsteagall Do you deny that police actually make our roads safer through traffic enforcement? If not, what do you suggest? Just let everyone drive how they want? Why don't you google how speeding and see how it causes accidents. What do you think should be done? Run for office and implement it.
You could never understand that? It's obvious! The speed limits are a joke - only set up to make money. What I dont understand is why we civilians continue to allow them to do it.....
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR So, how much money is made from speeding tickets? Care to elaborate? Let me give you a starting point... If every single LAPD officer gave one ticket per day for an entire year it wouldn't even pay for one of their salaries....
@maffimuk - "care to elaborate"???? do you? the way you worded this doesnt make sense, but to help you, if 1 officer gave a ticket every day/yr., it would come in just under HIS yrly salary. But that doesnt happen. 1 officer can write 50 or more per day, sometimes MANY more
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR The average cost in America for just one officer is $108,000/yr. That's salary, benefits and equipment. The video is shot in PA. The fine in PA for speeding begins at $35. All other costs are court fees, etc. In PA the law says that speeding cannot be enforced for the first six mph over the limit, after that its $2 for evey mile an hour over the limit. In the video the narrator says the Trooper is going 80 mph, that's 25 mph over a 55 mph speed limit. Con't.
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR So you begin at 19 mph. $35 + $38 = $73 (fine). If the Trooper worked every day of his life and wrote one ticket per day that's a yearly fine total of $26,645, not even close to a Trooper's salary.
Your gonna laugh at this one veil guy, but I video taped a County cop doing 90 in a 70 on hwy 85. I zoomed in and got his tag number and car number. I followed him to a gas station where he pulled up to just get gas, and I asked him his name while I had the camera rollin in the car. He looked at me weird and then drove off. The next day I sent the footage to his cheif of police and the county judge on a dvd. I stated in the dvd how fast he was going and needs a ticket for bereaking the law. LOL!
yeah instead of chasing criminals they sit all day giving tickets, insurance companies love this because they can rape people on their insurance, they use that money to give away free laser and radar detectors to cops.
This is a kind of pacing tactic used by some law enforcement. It's illegal but effective, by cruising same lane well above the PSL they can pick up speeders as they run up on them by slowing and pacing them.
You are passing on the right and holding a camera while driving. You are more dangerous than the State Trooper.
