  • all that bullshit has no value in the real world. Not with real troops and not in real business. 4 years waisted.

  • I'll be going to the rehearsal on Friday, i only live about 15 minutes away. Anyone else going??

  • well obviously you saw black grey and white, those would be the colors of west point army cadets, whyd you come if you hate it so much?

  • West Point. Leader stuff. An Officer, a 71542, with the 101st in Vietnam.

Fuck You or was that Eat Shit and Die?

    Rich

  • You pussy! "Don't worry buddy, it's over?"

  • Lovely video

  • This is not Summer Leadership Seminar (SLS) at West Point, but "R-Day Rehearsal." The new plebes report on "R-Day" on a Monday in late June every year. On the Friday before, the academy recruits "mock cadets" so the cadet cadre can get the logistical wrinkles worked out before the real thing. R-Day rehearsal is eye-opening but fun.

  • I was here 2 weeks ago as a visitor. and lets just say that all i saw was 3 colors BLACK GREY AND WHITE!!!! i wanted to kill my sellf. GO AIR FORCE ACADEMY

  • Volunteering to get yelled at? Hmm sounds interesting and fun.

  • @manofcailay how does it now produce little girls

  • @manofcailay sounds like somebody didn't get excepted or just wimped out on it

  • man screw R-day. that was honestly the worst of my life

  • @izlegit Longest day of my life, thats for damn sure

  • I hated the first day.

    I remember the beast barracks.

But USMA at Westpoint will teach you how to lead.

  • Believe me, they get a whole lot better at the "firm tone" after the rehearsal, and especially if they spent all summer with the plebes practicing every day.

VMI? Don't know much about it, but USMA isn't getting into a hazing contest. Once you reach THAT level its all about personal development, no old school crap.

  • @Pizack3 No doubt the USMA isn't getting into a hazing contest. That was my point -- VMI cadets learn a "firm tone" without needing to rehearse on a bunch of long-haired civvies. And if you ever want to see what the Old School was really like, just head south on I-81.

  • i can not westpoint i have a shit life

  • VMI. ROFL.

  • 1:02 - We're practicing yelling at civilians because "believe it or not," your command voices "are not a natural act."

Unless you went through the Rat-line at VMI, that is. If you had done that, you would find yourself projecting a command voice without needing the intermediate step of rehearsing on a bunch of civvies.

  • Hooah! Way to go, sir. It's always good to see someone speak out for the Virginia Military Institute, especially when the subject is West Point.

  • this really isnt that bad but i will tell u that the yelling and screaming isnt to make u learn faster or retain knowledge...it teaches disipline and critical thinking

  • how do i do this?

  • is this from a tv show or something?

  • Sure. Wouldn't want them to learn how to deal with stress or anything. That wouldn't make sense.

  • It's probably a good idea to memorize the response to the cadet in the red sash beforehand... lol

  • who's that kid?

  • Just a kid who went to West Point summer seminar

  • Nah, I think he just visited, (old people there too) that wasnt the seminar.

In the seminar they would be all wearing the same clothes, and it would be all young people. They would be doing excercises too, and staying for at least one week.

  • I went to SLS - this wasn't it :)

  • I'm going this summer, June 7th-14th.

How was it? I've heard nothing but good about it.

  • Yeah, when Cadet CSM Cheval dropped me for not knowing his rank on the 3rd day, I wouldn't describe his tone as inspirational..

  • hahahahaha that looked relaxing compared to what happened to me this year

  • haha killer cam is hilarious

  • Also, I'm very glad I never have to do that crap again too. Once is enough for me.

  • The "inspirational tone of leadership" that the CSM was talking about was that if they can't deal with a few people yelling at them now, how are they going to be able to cope when they have bullets flying at them or bombs going off and they have to make decisions?

  • i'm hoping to get in

but the kid in orange was hilarious, he didn't know how to report

  • i cant wait to do that next year... FOR REAL !!!!

  • i can't wait to get it over with

  • OH OH, i know that kid in the orange shirt.

  • ROFL! I love it when the dude didn't know how to address the Sergeant...

  • so glad i never have to do that again

  • interesting
