@erinpilla Actually the first Miss New York from Brooklyn was Barbara Gayle Cooper in 1974.

She won Miss Photogenic and the first Jewish girl to win Miss New York USA and was 1st Runner-Up to Miss USA 1974.She was also a student at Brooklyn College.

@erinpilla Actually,Miss New York USA 2007 was from the Bronx. Her name was Gloria Sophia Almonte. She was also Miss New Tork Teen USA 2001 and became 1st Runner Up for Miss Teen USA 2001.

I agree, I think it's time the USA bring home another Universe crown but I was told by a source w/in the Industry that Donald & the Miss Universe Organization don't see it beneficial for Miss USA to win Universe because winning Universe doesn't do anything for Miss USA's career. They feel Miss Universe is most beneficial to women of foreign countries...And Miss USA is more beneficial to her own country rather than winning the International title.

Yep, and last year should have been our year because even though Crystle fell; she should have made Top 5. She would have won Miss Universe because when Crystle speaks; it's unbelieveable. Her onstage interview skills are amazing...
