  • With this can I record what I play on software such as Audacity or cool edit pro or anything like that?

  • WHAT PRICE IS THE MICROKORG XL?

  • its about 500

  • they need to discontinue mk all together and start from scratch. its not going to get any better.

  • @chadinterrupted Clavia & Alesis should team up to make a Nord Lead mini with a built in sequencer/layers and effects like the Micron and no one would even bother with anything else

  • @d3p3ch3mod3 unfortunately people are too stupid and would never buy it because their favorite metalcore bands only use microkorgs.

  • @chadinterrupted yea maybe but it would pretty much be the best deal out there

  • @d3p3ch3mod3 haha people would still be too dumb to ever buy it even if it was better. xD

  • @jezuz12345

not so much, depending on what sound you want, you have to scroll through the genre's ect to find what you want, so you cant have it set up the way you want

  • OG MK Is Way Better

  • i just put 60$ down on one :DDDD i cant waiiiiiiitt

  • Very helpful video, thanks for uploading!

Is it easy to set arpegiator presets for live use? e.g. going from one sound and arpegio to another with a push of a button?

    Thanks!

  • could you tell me how you amplify this, do you plug it straight into a set of speakers or does it require an amp inbetween?

    thanks

  • Mine is plugged into a soundboard with several other instruments..but if you install the editor, you can record right from your computer via usb cable, and a mic ;)

  • noob question- which is better, the XL or the regular microkorg?

  • the XL is basically the upgraded version of the regular microkorg.

  • worth the extra money?

  • hell yea theres not that much difference in the price, im goin for the xl v soon. seems far easier hands on

  • @joeryanisaocelot Depends on what sound you're going for. Listen to the yeah yeah yeah's latest Cd and every synth sound on it is the regular microkorg.

  • i got the XL in the end and its reeeeeeally good, i dont think theres too much difference by the looks of it just personal preference. i didnt know the yeah yeah yeah's use a micrkorg though! little boots has an XL i think also :P

  • The XL is a gd choice. The difference between the two is that the Original MicroKorg uses the same sound engine was the MS2000 and the XL uses the same sound engine as the R3/Radias

Obviously both Micro's are a slightly cutdown version of there bigger bro's (effects, poly) but stilll awesome synths ;)

    Hope u enjoy it!

  • nothin special about this

  • you can.

  • sorry for sounding like a total noob but i just wanna be sure before i buy it but can you just plug it straight into an amp or does it need a laptop cus im thinking of gettin one to play live and dont want the hassle of takin a computer

  • you can just plug it into an amp. The microkorg can work as a MIDI controller also.

  • Hi, you could plug it direct into a keyboard amp...

  • you can ;).

  • I was in a band for a bit where I played bass and played a different mini-korg.

So yeah, I did this for like 1/3rd of every band practice till my bandmates were ticked at me, hahaha.

now ima buy one of these for myself, they're so amazing!

  • is this able to just like plug the jack straight into a sound desk recordery thing??

to make some backin tracks etc

then like use adobe audition or cubase etc to save and put onto minidisk???

any answers will be greatly appreciated, im searchin round for my first synth,

  • Yes, there are very few things you can't do with 90% of the synths out there.

  • Sound desk recordery thing haha, yes you can if you have the proper inputs.

  • Comment removed

  • does the Korg have a in built sound card in that you can USB it into a PC and it will play the inbuilt sounds in to an audio track - or does it need an external USB interface - i assume it will trigger midi via USB but what about the audio? ;))) thanks in advance

  • nice job... god I love what you can do with an arpegiator!!! The Korg sounds grat

  • Nice !!! Hard Trance tune !! :D

  • does exist beat drums in r3 as microkorg xl?

  • can it record loops?

  • it's not a sampler, it's a synthesizer.

  • no,its not that kinda instrument...

  • well isn't the r3 based on the same engine as the radias? and the microkorg xl is as well, so doesn't they have the same functions?

  • no,its different from the R3.

The vododer is basically the same, but there are differences.....

just have a look at some more videos and youll notice the different sounds and stuff.

  • any1 wanna trade a microkorg 4 a EA-1 AND KEYBORDE? REALY WANT A MICROKORG

  • WiTh a PC soundS Kinda better n.n.

    get ableton

    :x

  • nice arps ;-) electribes forever!!!

  • thank you for watching

Because I do not have the first generation, I do not understand which is good.

I think that XL which USB is attached to is better if you edit it with a PC.

    from Japan

  • hey but with the software of the XL can i record the songs by the sofware? and its possible to conect the XL to the pc speakers? how?

  • It is about "microKORG XL editor" that I said.

    recording is not possible

  • ha, well u dont answer me if can i connect the XL to the pc speakers

  • hey how u recorded this song ? what program do u use and what programm do u recommen to me ¿?

  • He has used a DAW (recording software) this couls be Ableton, Protools, Logic, Cubase, Sonar, Fruity Loops and some freeware ones like Audacity.

Yea it is possible to connect it to PC Speakers. U would just have to get a 1/4 inch jack and take it from the Headphones output on the MK XL

Just remember this wont really do the sounds any justice. You would be better getting a proper set of monitor speakers (KRK, M Audio, Genelec, Behringer, Samson etc)

Msg me if you have any questions

  • thanks man do u play synths?

  • hey i cannot speak english too, where are u from?

has the microkorg drums? what is better XL or microkorg?

  • I really am not a fan of the design. It looks really cheap and flimsy. I mean, just because it IS cheap, shouldn't mean it has to look that way. The side panels make it look like a toy.

  • Looks nicer than the Alesis Micron. ;-)

  • it's an absolutely fantastic synth.

how much is the retail price?

  • It is 500 dollars maybe.

  • shop around and you'll get one for £379

  • wow - thank you for your help!!

please can you make more videos

  • It is glad to be useful.

Something will be made one of these days.

  • maybe a difficult question: is microkorg XL good alternative to radias?

  • I think that microkorgxl becomes a good alternative if function (step seq ,many nob) of radias is not used.

  • Do you mean the R3? the radius is a far more superior and completly different synth. The R3 is a smaller version of the radius and is in my opinion, better then the microkorg. (I havent tried the new microkorg xl yet...)

  • Of all the superficial jerks that I am..

I agree the Radias is the big mac of post-MS Korg MMT-engine synths and if arranged in order of superiority, the microkorg range would probably come last - but personally I'd rather take an XL because it takes batteries and.. looks cooler. The R3's painted plastic 'metal' backplate looks embarrassing.

Although it sounds great! Judging from these demos, XL sound can't be far off R3's - making it a reasonable alternative. Plus PCM samples? What ya think?

  • I would still rather have the r3, I think it looks cool... I think it would be useful, as I havent got very much use out of my microkorg really, the keys are just a bit fiddly, and all the sounds are just a bit 'harsh' using batteries in a synth is a waste of batteries and I'm never likely to take it on the bus with me, so. I dunno

  • well i guess that's the difference - i would want to carry it around with me. the small keys are a small price to pay for portability (albeit the whole thing has a pretty hefty price to pay). horses for courses - I wish they put batteries in the electribes too

  • BRILLIANT!

    Do you speak English?

I am buying the microKORG XL next week in Korea. Can you program arpeggiator patterns on software over USB?

  • Therefore ..cannot speak English.., I do not understand the delicate

    nuance.

As for program of arpeggiator patterns, it is

Because the editor of microkorgxl has not been released yet, whether

it is possible to do is not understood.

I think that it cannot make a new pattern from the main body operation as long as the manual is seen.

There are and six kinds of patterns.

Because microkorgxl can output midi information, I am doing edit with daw.

  • Your English is very good!

    Thank you!

Do you think MicroKorg XL sound-quality is good as Korg Radias or Korg R3? (I love Radias sound)

  • Thank you.

I like Korg Radias though I do not have.

I think that microkorgxl is a very good quality.

I enjoy with korg emx, korg esx, korg karma(with moss), and microkorgxl

  • Wow thanks so much...the sound is great, can't wait to get my hands in one of those...you made my day Singsolong, nice job...keep rockin it!!
