@anthot231 In small roman-candles they do break on impact, simply because they're so small, but in the large shells they're A LOT bigger, and do have a tenancy to bounce around on impact---they're just not meant to be ignited so close to the ground.
Now that is what I call a firework. It isn't any good unless it nearly blows the window out of every structure nearby
