I almost bought a duratrax dx-450 but I'm glad I didn't, I just got my vmx-450 & it looks awesome! the duratrax bike looks so silly compared to the vmx-450.
how fast do you thinks this goes out of the box? Are they all sold with the metal gears in the gryo? So when your driving it and you turn the wheel left it goes right? i think i saw that on another video... is there a way to change that?
@MrLukestowell23 Out of the box the Venom VMX 450 goes 25-30mph. When driving, if you turn the wheel right it does go right and vice-versa to the left. What actually happens however on the bike is that the tire turns the opposite way from the direction you think the tire should turn. So if you are watching the tire as you drive it, it looks like it will want to turn left but is actually going right and vice versa. It becomes very easy to drive after 2-3 battery packs of running. I just wanted to see if you'd post it being that you are filtering the comments. :) I own both and like both although the DX450 is a bit more stable, but that may be because it has every upgrade and mod possible where as my Venom is bone stock.
My new VMX after 10 minutes of fun, when I was learning how to drive, it broke. The plastik gyro gears destroyed at all, and the bike doesn't have balance. It's very sad. I come from Poland so new gyro gears will be very expensive for me.
But the VMX still look amazing.. But it only looks for me now.
@uire Very sorry to hear you have had a bad first experience with the bike. It could be the gyro was not set correct from the factory and thus the gears stripped early. To eliminate this problem, we will be upgrading all future bike production to all steel gears.
@uire For you, please send an email with a photo of the broken gears to customerservice email and we will send you out new gears at our expense. Also for the bike stability, if the gyro gears were stripped then it was not providing enough gyro affect to make it stable. The bike is very stable if the gyro is working. CB
@venomgroupintl You are right. The bike is very stable and fun to drive . However the gyro is a disaster. I have gone through 2 sets in less that 23 min of driving. I might get through half a pack when it just go's out. I have not yet tried the steel ones yet but am waiting for them to come out. God I hope they work, I am already into this thing over $500 not to mention about 7 hours trying to figure out that gyro. The exploded views of the gyro are not accuate
@jjones1850 All new productions of bikes come standard with Sintered Steel Gears. These are highly durable gears and will make the gyro extremely robust. All customers who purchased initial bikes with the plastic gears are eligible to get a free set of plastic gears until the steel ones are available and then when available are eligible to get a set of the steel ones. The first shipment of steel gears will be in stock this week (week of April 4th). Please contact Venom Customer Service.
@uire Same problem for me as well. Venom was good enough to mail me a free plastic gyro set. However it broke as well. I sure hope the steel ones dont just chip and grind away. Hell I would even pay for all titaniam gyro! The bike is still the most fun you will have on a half a lipo pack!

@BLOWMEV8 Hello BLOWMEV8. Yes, the RTR version comes with a 2.4Ghz radio. There will be a Venom Red Edition kit to be released sometime in the next 4 months that will have some alloy option parts with the front disk brake kit included. The body will come clear on the Red Editon
venomgroup, are you guys going to make all the metallic parts available from day 1?
as i want to get the chrome frame....also will it be possible to buy the bikes plastics (front fender, rear fender,shrouds etc) unpainted?...as i want to paint one up to be identical to my dirtbike..

We will not be offering an alloy frame as it would be way too expensive since the frame is largely in two big pieces. We'll have all the option parts on our website soon.

If you can't find it at a shop near you, I am sure it will be available from many online hobby shop retailers as well. Hello pbcrazy9898. We're just releasing the bike as soon as we can and it just so happens it's December. We had originally hoped for a summer release but we made some changes last minute after our pilot production run.
Any chance you guys could consider an optional rider who is in a standing/attack riding position? People with a motocross background will notice instantly that the rider is sitting down over jumps and that it looks funky.
The supermoto version at 2:40 looks perfect but for offroad id rather have a rider who is standing.
@RockstarGlamis Hello RockstarGlamis. We will not produce the paddle tire until we see what the initial bike sales are like. It's quit a speciality tire as you know. We will however have the supermoto tire available right away.

@MRgecko45 the bike requires a 2-Cell LiPO battery and you will need a charger to charge the battery. The radio transmitter is included.
