They were the 80's.

They used to be called Bow Wow and most of their albums under that name are excellent. The Vow Wow stuff before the V album was also pretty strong. Kyoji Yamamoto was Japan's first real metal guitar hero before Akira Takasaki came along.

Kyoji formed another band after Bow Wow called Wild Flag, but that project sucked.

Excellent to see these people again after so long - remember seeing them in Reading - the encore was Summertime Blues, and it was brilliant! If anyone has video of them doing that song, I would love to see it.

I remember buying the Shockwaves album (tape) when it first came out, about the same time that Japanese bands were the huge thing in the USA scene. This is an amazing song; it's too bad they never got huge in America.
