Although the Police officers actions were wrong, had this man not resisted arrest in the first place OR been in possesion of a knife, none of this would of happened.
Although two wrongs don't make a right, it is not just that a person can sue the police force for acting within their duty.
Both parties are in the wrong in this incident, however, it is the Police who are the victims in this. They get bad publicity and a lot of police funding will have been wasted in an inquest.
Resisting a wrongful arrest is obstructing a police officer in the course of his duty, therefore by resisting they are commiting a criminal offence making the arrest lawful, and giving the police a reason to press charges.
If the arrest is wrongful, there is a little thing called trial by jury. The arrest will be overturned.

The police and the military are not the same as other public servants as they swear an oath of elegance. This oath sets them apart from all other members of society and other public servants. I left school at 16, joined the forces, served in afghan/iraq, left the forces and joined the old bill. I served my country with pride and now i serve my community with pride. There are officers i work with who have degrees and above, there are some that are not. It's a mix of everyone. Police come from the very community they serve. Some are dicks, some or decent. Although the Police officers actions were wrong, had this man not resisted arrest in the first place OR been in possesion of a knife, none of this would of happened.
Although two wrongs don't make a right, it is not just that a person can sue the police force for acting within their duty.
Both parties are in the wrong in this incident, however, it is the Police who are the victims in this. They get bad publicity and a lot of police funding will have been wasted in an inquest.

Under Code A of the Police And Criminal Evidence Act 1984 a police officer can arrest anyone whom he suspects may be about to cause an offence or has commited and offence. This is a police officers job, so they do this.

It's funny you should mention rape. Or rather not funny at all. In January there was a report that out of dozens of rape allegations against the Met over the last 5 years, not one resulted in a conviction. And only 1% of cases since 2000 were upheld by the police.
The police policing themselves seem to have an extremely low figure that would be suspect of any other body.

Well, Forensic Science n the UK is carried out by an external organisation, so any body claiming to of been raped by a Police Officer is going to be examined by an external and objective person.
Do you really think most of the people claiming they have been raped by a police officer acctually have?
And how many people with the balls and mentality to be a police officer have it in them to rape someone. The chances are they have probably seen the results.

1st point, not true. Rape victims are handled by special, er, police units. Demonstrably non-indepdent.
I don't know if most claimants have or haven't been. I said the figures that came out of the non-independent police enquiries was suspiciously low. They are.
Police officers have been convicted of all sorts of crimes, including murder, rape, robbery, burglary, and so on.
I suspect that seeing this video a lot of cops can be villains... who get away with it.

A lot of people know considerably more than you as they have a little thing called knowledge and experience of the world outside youtube and facebook.
Why don't you dump your cyber wife, take a walk down a British street, and realise there is a real and present need for a police force.
Although there are loose canon police officers, the 99.9 % of good police officers make up for it.

In the incident in this video, 100% of the police officers were bad. One threatened torture, the others laughed. Did you see any of them arrest the thug-officer? No.
Now stop trying to muddy the waters. There are a lot of thugs in the police, and their fellow thug-officers are quite prepared to look the other way.

To be completely honest, do you expect the Police to just let you run away? They do as they are ordered. That is their job. Only an idiot runs from the police, because if you don't come quietly, they can use reasonable force to subdue you, and as the report was that the criminal had a knife, it is reasonable force to hit him with a car. Knives kill. That is a fact.
And you still havent answered my question; how would you feel if someone raped you, and there was no way to bring him to justice?

Following orders is no defence. Look up Nuremberg. The police have obsolutely no power to torture anyone.

In the case with jean though just imagine how the applicants to become a firearms officer would drop if they were fully aware that in any situation similar to the one mentioned above was going to result in them losing their job/jail sentence. That is a different topic though.
The opression we face from the establishment/media is more spiritual or emotional than physical. If you compare our jails to say china, and the use of force from police officers generally you would understand what i mean

Ah yes there are many police shows, and i am ashamed to admit i do enjoy to watch them now and again (should be more on other emergency services like the recent one out on sky called total emergency) but i see that more as an easy media tool to make more money, and again it only just begins to weigh up the anti police "propaganda" such as popular video games like GTA, hollywood films will always show corrupt cops etc.

Don't worry i have massive rants on youtube not just for the police but other groups or certain individuals its nothing personal nor i get sexual satisfaction from watching the bill or traffic cops, i just think its more important to educate these memebers of society along with the military, who can both be a threat to us, just saying ! you never know how things can turn out, but currently i believe that they mostly do a good job, well better than most other humans could possibly do

I use the term real world in that they work in a cosseted institution, a public servant that society needs and therefore does not come under such pressures of unemployment/redundancy. I fully understand that they are needed in society and so do they, hence their arrogant attitude. They are well backed up by the police federation so that they are protected from complaints (employ some of the best layers) and always stick up for each other even when they commit crimes as shown here

Their pay is proportionate with regards to achievement and time severed, in fact their pay goes up in 1k increments for each years service not taking into account pay awards, I will pm you with 2006 pay scale for both constable and sergeant, and it has gone up considerably since. Again I say their job is risk assessed and the award they receive is proportionate

The police and the military are not the same as other public servants as they swear an oath of elegance. This oath sets them apart from all other members of society and other public servants. Nurses, teachers and others are paid at different pay rates proportionate to their skills and risks involved (I get the Kate Moss bit though but thats the way it goes)

For you to say that the government hates their own police force is an unbelievable statement the police do their bidding in keeping people in check. How often do we hear do as your told or your nicked? That oppression is conveyed to the masses via the media. The media do not hate the police as they are regularly portrayed as heroes in such programs as cops with cameras, road wars and police camera action

Anyway, emancipation is a big word. Its taken a long time for immigrants or women for that matter to get any semblance of freedom or human rights. This country had to be bullied by Europe to accept the human rights bill and made various omissions to it then and is still changing its structure even now. The only way people can truly be free is financially. Lets just hope these cops got punished accordingly and they now know what its like to be locked up

Fair enough your point is just, however despite any special "stauts" awarding to them, they still are people who suffer from emotional, financial difficulties etc as everyone else. They may not come under the exact same pressures as other members of society but then at the same it is compensated with other pressures that most people may only have to experience once in their life.

Yes it does seem like that doesn't it espescially with the de menzez favouring the police, however again it has to seem like that otherwise who would join the police, there are many cases in which the federation abandons officers over small trival complains that have no real backing due to the cirumstances, however they get covered up and swept under the carpet.

Bottom line we are all just the little people in this big game and as long as people begin to realise this and stop hating and playing the blame game then we can evolve. Why do you think that the media love to slam the police when they can ? Taking in mind that the media are one of the most manipulative government tools in their arsenal (not blaming journalists) I could say the same for all memebers of races , parties, ethnicities, jobs etc.

true but who can say what is proportionate depends really on what is accomplished or achieved during the length of service.
I would say that memebers of the military, paramedics, police, fire brigade all should recieve more benefits for the service they do and mostly very well, it annoys me how kate moss for example recieves more respect than they do.
