even it's a very strange comparison, LAN wins hands down:
1. LAN has MUUUCH more international excellence awards
2. LAN has much bigger fleet
3. LAN has newer planes
4. LAN has less accidents (EL AL is horrible in this aspect)
5. No risk of certain "assaults"
6. LAN does not bother passengers with exceed amount of security checks
7. LAN is in the ONEWORLD Alliance, nobody wants EL AL in ANY alliance
