  • @hiphoplivs I don't know man I've seen ka24dets stock block putting out almost 350 with out blowing up. sr20s are good but are limited as far a boring out.

    1989ー1998=Nissan 180sx RPS13( This model went through all sorts of changes mainly taillights,trim pieces, and front end) Note: they stopped making the 240sx hatchback in the U.S. in 1994 and replaced it with the Nissan 240sx S14. In Japan the RPS13 was produced until 1998

    JPN motors:1989-1991 CA18DE,CA18DET 1991-1998 SR20DE, SR20DET Blacktop with T28 turbo/Redtop with T25 turbo

    U.S. 240sx motors= SHIT

  • I'm a touge drifter here in Jpn and I own both an S13 and 180..

    and I can say that..

    "RPS13" is called "one-eighty".

    "S13" is called "esu-ichi-san" which means S13 in Japanese.

    If you called them anything different to people in the business they'd think you're weird.

  • It is actually a 180SX. American "S13" 240SXs are based on japanese 180SX. If you talk about a japanese S13, you are talking about the S13 Silvia, not the RPS13 (180SX).

  • the name 180sx is the name nissan gave the car becasue of the original engine in the car the CA18DET a turbocharged 1.8 liter twincam hence 180sx it was changed out infavor of the sr20det but the name stuck . here in the US we have 240sx which have ka24(d)e hence 240sx name and in europe it was offered with the sr20det 2.0 turbo engine hence 200sx. so basicly thats it

    the sr20det was only offered in the s14, which is called 200sx as well instead of silvia

    only the s12 and s110 were called silvia here

  • SO much misinformation!!! regardless of the car name the s13 is the chassis which this car is. the 180sx and the 89-93 silvias are s13's as well as the american 240sx 89-93 both coupe and hatchback as well as the euro 200sx of the same years posted above. the s14 is from 94-98.

  • a 180sx is the jap equal of an american 240sx s13 hatchback yes s13s come in hatch and coupe you are thinking of a 240sx s13 coupe or a silvia s13 but the 180sx has a chasis code od rps13 making it a s13 because its still an s chasis the s13 so that is acurate but yes its a 180sx

  • LO FREAKING L THATS NOT A WIDEBODY. Thats a blister kit blisters are widend fenders f/r but a set mm like +114mm side panel. As for that aerokit NOT BODYKIT thats a yashio factory blister or charge speed blister (could be wrong though).

  • nope early 180sx came with the ca but 94-98 ones came with blacktop sr20 the s13 silvia from 89-93 came with redtop sr20. s14 94-98 is also a 240sx in the states only the s15 is a silvia that chassis code wasnt used on anything else. but yes silvias all came in s13-s15 n silvia is a called a gazelle in uk kinda corny huh

  • The S13 came in a coupe and fastback. The fastback was a 180sx and the coupe was a Silvia. The S14 and S15 are both Silvia's.

  • he also mentioned on the drive that he wanted Oka-chan to give the car better steering feel...and that if it had a GT wing...it wouldve clocked a HELL of a faster time...(if you look at the Champ S14 run and the Kei Office S15 run...they ran considerable faster)

  • funny thing...with S13's...when they get old...unless you change out the tie rod assembly and maybe some other things, the steering feel will feel a bit...lacking...but when you replace these parts...the steering feel will feel sharper than an S2000's (no joke)

  • it is a 180sx fastback. s13 you are referring to is a coupe version of 180sx without the flip up headlights. and if you are going to ask about the sil80, in japan drifters were always getting into an accident, instead of fixing up their flipup headlights, they just wanted to buy the s13 headlights because it was cheap. SIL80s weren't a production of nissan. Drifters invent it.

  • actually for a short time nissan saw how popular it was and produced the sil80's..they didn't do it for long but they did produce them from the factory at one point..

  • Nissan never made a Sileighty. Kid's Heart did. and like...the Silvia is the S13 (89-91) then the PS13 (92-94)...then you have the RS13 180SX (89-91) then you have the RPS13 (92-98)...and yes...98...the kept producing it until then because it was so popular with that kids.

  • While your not completely wrong if your gonna help "expand other enthusiasts knowledge" atleast get it right. It was a collaboration between kids heart and Nissan and was sold through Nissan dealers (mainly one though) and came with full Nissan warranty.

    Of course, thats just it... engines are completly different between these cars.

    If you are going to complain, go to the OP... who titled this video with the wrong car's name (cause its not a S13)

  • This is a great RPS13...or 180SX....that has great balance...but unlike the newer models that were in the Touge 300, this one didnt feature a GT wing to keep the ass planted in the turns...hence the drifting =)

  • i know...but the thing is...the sector time isnt as fast as the newer cars because it was having too much oversteer. notice right before the hairpin...how he quickly corrects ...the two cars that posted better times...the FEED RX8 and the Integra R...both had GT wings to keep them planted to clock the better time. If i remember correctly...Oka-chan got the special prize tho for a great car =)

  • those drifts werent on accident, they were induced, therefore your idea is wrong. not to mention you dont need a wing at those speeds sub 100km because the wind resistance isnt even building yet. It does to a point, but its like taking your shift boot out to save weight..only does so much

  • Dude...you're stupid. If you watch Tsuchiya drive the car...he's constantly countersteering because of the oversteer. And yes...you DO need a wing at those speeds...there is sufficient downforce at those speeds. If you adjust your wing for the situation....it absolutely will keep that ass planted.

    I borrowed a good adjustable wing @ an autocross on my 240SX (replaced my stockie for the runs) and i cut .5 seconds on my time...it definitely works at those speeds

  • It wasn't ID that first started to name the cars by the chassis models. It's simply a nice way to distinguish between different models of the same car.

    Where I come from that very same car is called a 200SX and so is the S14 and S15. We use the name of the chassis model to tell the difference between them.
