I don't like it. I'd rather hear transmissions between pilots and ATCs. Slide shows accompanied by rousing soundtracks (which I can put together here in just a few minutes) doesn't quite cut it...
Well sorry you didn't like the video, I was only 14 when I made it (before I even started flying) looking back on it i can see it's not great or anything but it men't alot to me bak then that I made something like this. So I'm just thankful you didn't leave this comment here two years ago.

I deal with pilots all the time. I'm an avionics specialist. I fixed broken jets that pilots left behind coz they have no idea whats wrong with it. ATC? wow! they seat their ass off for 8hr in that aircondition tower with 2:00 lunch breaks "TALKING" to the pilots, thats so fucking "stressfull". So where are the maintainers, out there troubleshooting exposed to a harsh environment (rain, hea, cold, snow in the flight-line) for 10 t0 12hrs a day with no lunch break oooh 30min in a good day.
I made this video such a long time ago the whole point was for people to listen to air traffic control. i know there is much more people involved but i was highlighting air traffic controllers
Ok, we probobly just have a lil misunderstanding here. I thought your pointing out how stressfull being ATC or Pilot than the rest of the aviation industry. Yea, those two job have high level of stresses since they are responsible for the life of lots of people. But when a plane crash happen, specialist and maintaineers are the first ones get shit on. It nevers the pilots fault even the FDR says the pilot lowered the flaps and raised the spoilers at mach 5. Sorry if my comments are out of hand
Alright first a little background. I am a former C-17 crew chief, then selected as a Flying crew chief for about 5 years. I then cross trained and am currently a radar air traffic controller. I know what you're talking about and fixing airplanes is a difficult job especially out in the rain/snow/night. ATC has much nicer working conditions but decisions are made split second and can cost lives if done wrong. Also you dont have luxury of "looking it up". Google "7110.65" and memorize it.
@JumpStartation Well, sorry if English is my third language (not including programing languages). But yea, your smart ass is right, specialist use English to fix planes. They just spit some Shakespeare's quotes and WALLAAH! EMUX is working like new again. Got engine, IFF, GPWS, CITS or A/P problem? No worry, pull out the English dictionary! Yea, only English speaking country have planes, ATC and specs coz that's how intelligence is measured against. Russia, Japan China etc never have any.
I'm getting tired of watching of being the pilots and ATC are the folks who always get the credit on aviation. What happen to the aircraft maintainers and specialist? ATC and pilot job are cake compare to those two. EX, the only thing that pilot need to know is that when he put the landing gear lever down, the gear will go down. For the Specialist, he/she must know this and how much voltage, PSI, current, is running through the system. And thats just the tip of the iceberg.
quantomic1106 I think we all understand what's the point... Without people like you, atc and pilots would be useless... Without pilots and atc you would be useless (and all the other ones involved all the way from the marshaller to the investment of the government in the airport).
Now what?
Well, if aviation engineering / airplane maintenance / piloting / atc / ground service / ... is your passion, just go for it!
Just remember to do what you love and love what you do.
Air traffic controllers earn relatively high pay and have good benefits. Median annual earnings of air traffic controllers in May 2006 were $117,240. The middle 50 percent earned between $86,860 and $142,210. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $59,410, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $145,600. The average annual salary, excluding overtime earnings, for air traffic controllers in the Federal Government—which employs 90 percent of all controllers—was $122,220 in May 2006.
wtf!?!?!?!? this is the video clip on the Boston virtual atc. Its on the entrance exam. either you took it from them or they took it from someone else and you did to.

It is very easy, no airplane would fly, without Maintainers, Pilots, controllers or cabin crew.
So cool down fellow from where great airplanes are made
