  • Vote UKIP

  • hahahaha wat a lair !!!!!!! hes just a rich boy that dosent know what hes talking about, :/

  • David Cameron is boss.

  • Eton Boy!

  • LibLabCon the three headed beast ,the same old rubbish ,just a different rosette !

  • What I like about David Cameron is that he's brutally honest. Gordon Brown just dodges the issue.

  • @DavidCameron4UK

What about the 24 billion his accounting does not account for?

    DavidCameron4UK , You're a child. Learn your subject!

  • A lot of Labour spinners here. lol

  • Until you promise us a free and fair referendum on our whole EU membership you are going to lose out to UKIP in a big way at the next general election and it serves you right.

Make Daniel Hannan the leader of the tories and remove the spineless and cowardly Cameron.

  • David Wilshire MP has been outed as fraudster when will it end, all MPs are now seen as conmen how can we trust them.

  • Cameron you speak a pack of lies. Utter eton filth.

  • Nothing noticable will change with these in power, they are pro immigration, pro EU, etc.

  • Yeah you and the CONS messed up Lowestoft bringing the town to it's knee's Your out Cameron

  • It`s not what these people have to say, it`s what they have to do. And mark my words, they`ll do nothing and change nothing.

  • If you are even considering voting tory then you are by definition a racist.

  • "Why don't we take things like the regional assembly's.. and put them in the bin."

Not very democratic, is he? Does he want an elected central government to make all the decisions instead? If not, the Conservative wants unacountable, unelected people making decisions for us.

  • he's so unsightly; foaming at the mouth for power, and he smugly claims to have won the election already - reason enough to vote against him. I don't want an even more right wing Tony Blair in charge for the next decade

  • I'm a heterosexual Homo Sapien male of the species Humanity; consequently Cunnilingus spray juice all across my face, while I'm on my knees supping on elixir of Poon.

  • shame u need to do well at school to be a polition. :(

  • you definitely do

  • no you dont....you need the gift of the gab, not the first clue of what is actually going on in the country and waffle

  • Trust me, I don't want to vote BNP but is this enough to tackle immigration, from the Con. website:-

-The first stage is making eligible for admission those who will benefit the economy

-The second stage is an annual limit to control the numbers admitted with regard to the wider effects on society and the provision of public services.

    This couldn't be more vague.

  • Would you keep everyone out who has a different shade of skin even though they could benefit OUR economy? A senior BNP spokesman on the TV the other night acknowledged that they DO contribute to our economy, but that he and his party wants to keep us all white. Who do these empty-heads think they are? Your soul-mate may be coloured and you may want to start a family with this person, but the BNP wants to dictate otherwise. FUCK OFF, CREEPS.

  • HELLO

a certain constituency did vote for gordon brown, it's a representative democracy. Conservative voters didn't vote for Cameron to be conservative head.

other than this i actually think cameron is doing a good job, he talks sense and honesty. Unfortunately i don't have faith in the rest of his party, shame because i like him.

  • I'd like to know when your going to answer my questions David?? FOUR TIMES I've sent emails asking about the surveillence state we live in and what he intends to do about it.

Don't believe me? YOU TRY EMAILING HIM!

  • Imagine. Imagine no commission unelected as they are no million regulations sent to us from afar imagine legislation made by those we know oh,oh,oh I know you may call me a dreamer but Im not the only one one day you will join us and Europe will be as one (..as a trading block, not as an imposed, artificial federal state no-one was ever asked if they wanted ). No to the Lisbon treaty/constitution ! Dont give the EU the legitimacy it cravesdont vote.
  • Agreed.

  • Cameron and the conservative 'party' will be as big a disaster for 95% of the population as Brown and Labour are now.

Break the lab-lib-CON elite once and for all. Vote Independent.

  • When Labour start fighting for a tax cut for the richest few, then i would stand up against them! Class is only the issue when they say one thing, and then contradict themselves by wanting to give the majority of the cabinet a tax cut!

  • Well the tories seem to think they do! They want the abolishion of Inheritance tax- giving the richest few a few hundred thousand more! And who was it who deregulated the financial system? It was the Conservatives in the 1980's! The FSA was introduced to bring in a certain level of regulation which was missing when we came to power! And learn what a contract is Femmefi! They are hard to get out of!

  • The poorest are still better off now than they were in 1997! The Minimum wage - apposed by tories and now they have back benchers trying to get rid of it! They also increased the threshold significantly, so you obviously don't read the full story! And we have higher employment than we would if the tories were in charge and not providing vital funds! Digging deeper - tories when they opposed the liquidities scheme!

  • What like over 45% public debt as pre 1997? Labour has made mistakes, but has also tried to rectify all the mistakes made by the tories! The level of Debt is not the highest it has ever been in the UK, and nor will it be the highest in the future! Shame the tories still havn't changed their views to stop them damaging the same services as they did last time they were in power!

  • I think Labour started out being an advocate of prudence in the early days in office but seemed to lose sight and got carried away taxing , spending and borrowing as time progressed.I mean to make a statement you'd abolished boom and bust smacks of arrogance...if you truly believe you've abolised it then there is not much need for restraint.......sounds like an excuse to go on a wild spending spree to me.....Torys left office with things on the up and money in the jar..ps what services?

  • Well 2001 proves that the UK was above the normal system of Boom and Bust, Considering it hasn't actually been a boom (unsustainable growth) and the bust is due to a world wide problem! Until investing in reducing the impact of the recession, we were below the 1997 GDP Debt level! In 1997 there was a deficit of just under 45% GDP! How is that money in the bank, and the economy still in tatters from the early 90's! What services? the services tories hate - state education and the NHS!

  • What did John Major predict in 97 he said don't elect labour they'll ruin the economy again....how right he was..they always do!

I see no defence in anything you are saying as it relates to current concerns..Torys left office 12 years ago and did leave things on the up and there was money in the jar.....the Tories set Labour up for a very good run..they had it and as usual are making a bloody mess..no policies,no direction , sod-all of an use left to give..I'm not surprised.

  • What part of THIS IS A GLOBAL CRISIS don't you understand? The Tories destroyed the economy when they were in power, and we have kept the uk out of recession by following tried and proven successful Keynesian economics rather than using untested and moronic Monetarism! 45% GDP debt during the good times = money in the jar are you mad? Labour has no policies? Have you read both manifestos and then say who doesn't have any polices!!!

  • What the Torys want is better education not dumbed down where everyone is brought down to the same level.People are individuals and should be treated as such.

The NHS is something which DC has said he has immense respect for ......so doesn't sound like he hates it to me.

  • Where did Cameron send his children to school? was it PRIVATE SHOOL? This is the same old tory party! Just look at the private health insurance all the tory front benchers have! Do they really respect the NHS! Hannan who was supported by many other tories openly said on US televison, that the state health provision was a waste of money! What Chamelion says and truth = different - Green by cycling yet with a limo in tow!

  • No we won't fold, Stop following the line of the Right wing press in scaremongering! The UK is in a great position to cope with the recession, hence why we can lead the world in the bank bailouts!

  • I wouldn't call it scaremongering when caution and opposition is widespread, regarding our enonomic circumstance.

We're in a great position to cope are we ?Thats why we could be downgraded in our credit worthiness......hardly a marker of a great position.

Bank bailouts....what other choices were there........it was either support them or let them fold......hardly a measure of astounding intellect.

  • Well the leader of the oposition voted against the nationalisation of the failed banks! Public Debt was about 35% GDP, wheras when Labour came to Power it was around 45% GDP, There was High employment, high numbers of people in higher education and healthcare is now much better than it was in 1997! The UK did not get damaged by 2001, whereas other major economic powers did! And the Credit agencies claimed that the UK was going to be downgraded then too!

  • Recapitalising the banks and nationalising them are two very different things...the Torys agreed to recapitalising of the banks. Why did Labour continue to run budget deficits year upon year, even in the massive boom,....which accumulated to the biggest budget deficit of any advance country prior to the credit crunch?Leaving us totally exposed this recession...underwriting lending, tax cuts could have been possible had we been better prepared.

  • I wouldn't be so narrow minded as to believe that any one party gets it right all the time, obviously they don't.Also I wouldn't discount the good things Labour have done ie the NHS ,minimum wage....etc.The problem is that it is bureaucratic, statist ,control freakery, lack of value for money which have let it down even with massive investment. They simply took their eye off the ball and let debt run rife.

  • They have said in the budget how the debt as a percentage of GDP would be reduced! All you have shown is that you haven't actually read the budget

  • Fair enough if Darlings projections are correct. However, economic bodies and the IMF dispute these projections. This is why there is concern .The debt could end up too high to repay.

  • The IMF are so often pessemistic about the UK economy, it actually gets boring when they continually under predict the UK economy, while the Government Data has been +- 0.25% accurate!

  • Can we continue to fund the big state, rising unemployment ,falling tax receipts ?How long is this going to sustainable? Will we fold before growth returns? Its not looking good.....

  • So ur saying as s s&p have downgraded our credit rating from stable to negative, falling tax receipts ,sky high borrowing , possible IMF bailout,to b 3 million plus unemployed,a budget which doesn't define how it will pay back this borrowing,a falling currency......and we're supposed to think its okay regardless....I'm no economist but things hardly look rosy.Have s&p downgraded those other countries on ur list?If not why not?If its okay to borrow like u have said.

  • They havn't actually downgraded the rating! They have downgraded the target credit rating - thus meaning what they think will happen! However wasn't it companies such as S&P who went and said all the bad debts were AAA rated? You have answered your own question with the fact you said you weren't an economist, and I am! The Currency is now improving and fell due to the main export (financial services) falling, Tax reciepts always fall in a recession, and have you read the full budget?

  • If they think it will happen does that not tell u their getting concerned? As is everyonelse who can see the writing on the wall.

Please don't tell me you support a budget which fails to lay down how it proposes to repay the debt.

  • boylepw Debt and GDP is not a one size fits all calculation.U have to consider GDP ,obviously, ability to borrow and pay back comfortably , tax burden, abilty to withstand future financial shocks , costs, expenses and ability to invest.Basically a Conservative government.

  • No, its the best suited calculation to look at the tax burden as it uses how high the level of debt is compared to the ability to cover it! Learn about economics before you make comments like that! The ability to withstand future financial shocks? By cutting spending when it's most needed! How does that work? The tories still don't have an economic policy, or in fact any policies at all!

  • S ur saying that variables do not effect this calculation at all ?

  • The variables which are needed is GDP and the level of debt! Which variables do you think will affect the result?

  • The sooner we get an election the better. Thanks to Labour England is on her knees(again)and itsgoing to take savvy economics and smart choices to get her back on her feet. Its time for them to fold and leave the table, enough is enough. We've seen all we need to see and we want out.

  • On it's knees thanks to a WORLD WIDE RECESSION!!! and what has happened to Scotland and Wales? Do they no longer count in the tory master plan of cutting services so the poorest stuffer?

  • Wales and Scotland have their own Parliament and I have to say much more sane than the incompetents we have that call themselves a government.Yes its a global recession but to try and discount prior financial circumstances in the overall impact its having on us is frankly laughable.Seems selectivity and assumption is ur hallmark.

  • Ok, let's look at percentages of GDP in public Debt shall we? Italy 104%, Belgium 84.6%, Norway 83.1%, Canada 64.2%, France 63.9%, United States 60.8% and then look at the UK with 43.6%. Are we in really that bad of a situation? Incompetent? Is that why most major countries are following our example? Like the USA, France even Germany!

  • The Conservatives have not actually said what they were going to do! They just hint at its removal, along with the removal of the minimum wage! I guessed your family are well off, considering the fact that you are supporting one of the most discriminatory parties towards those less well off! Selling off council housing means that those in most need, don't receive housing!!! Well with your comments, its actually seems that you don't understand the need for actual policies rather than just spin!

  • 1 boylepw u make many accusations and presumptions which may suit ur angle but make little sense when held against facts.Yes better regulation is needed desperately and the Torys r going to address this problem. Also DC is going to keep the min wage so its untrue that their going to abolish it.I don't know if ur aware of the fact that The Torys built more council homes than any Lab gov.

  • Did cameron publically lambast his own MPs for bringing proposing the bill for getting rid of it? NO, Yes the tories did build a lot more, just in places where they could give them to their own - Westminster anyone? Where 3 Tory millionaires were made!!!

  • DC made it known publicly that he supports the minimum wage and thats all that matters.

As for the Torys only building houses around Westminister and giving them to their own sounds like more of the usual rubbish from u , if not , please supply evidence.

  • 2 boylepw At the time of introducing right to buy for council housing tennents there was no shortage of housing.Right to buy gave hardworking people a chance to make an investment in their future.I also wonder why Labour, given the massive boom and 12 yrs in office, have done very little to address the chronic lack of social housing.

  • But alas it wasn't the poorest who benefited! It was those who already didn't have anything who suffered!! And Labour has increased the level of social housing, but through a few in a project rather than just huge builds!

  • If I recall, the Conservatives made it illegal for councils to use the money raised from the sale of council houses to build more council houses to replace the ones being sold off. This was to FORCE people to pay for expensive private accommodation. The result? Homeless people begging everywhere. The response to that? Instruct the police to arrest the beggars. PLEASE do not let these people ride back into power on the back of a GLOBAL recession that our government didn't cause.

  • 1 - The privatisation benefited the richest the most! It was them who could afford the shares, and it was privatatised rate where many people (often the richest with spare capital available to them, not these 'new middle class' people as you referred to them)

2 - Why sell off assets at a long way below market Value? and why privatise monopolies? It doesn't make sense to give away market power to a company who could abuse the position to make supernormal Profit!

  • 3 - Mining and other industries, provide local economies with much needed investment and employment, whereas Woolworths does not! Hundreds of thousands of people suffered from the mines closing, and these areas are still struggling to recover even now!!!

Heavy industry is essential to help build an economy, as putting all your eggs in to 1 market is a way to damage the economy when a world wide event such as the Credit Crunch occurs!

  • medicine like 3 major recessions caused last time they were in power? Closing all industry? after the last tory government, the economy didn't benefit at all! All that happened is a few people made a lot of money out of privatisation of UK! in the week the value of the company rose on average by around 80%! What she did was destroy the UK, No it wasn't easy to cause so much damage and make the country even more unequal! The problem is you don't understand Economics!

  • What`s the party line on drugs? Do we have to import them, or will the tories legalise them? Do we bring our own, or call some old etonian...? Then there`s the war in Afghanistan,,, funny how since the invasion, drug imports from the region are rising///// Why the war? Can`t we just arrange to buy drugs from them, without the invasion? Will the tories introduce drugs tests for the police and M.P.s????? And yes, all the above comment is written in sarcasm.

  • this is the conservative party for ya

    THE PARTY FOR THE RICH

David Cameron and his party are playing on our emotions to vote for them by giving us some hope BOLLOCKS! where's his plans then he hasn't got none all he want is power and then to chew us up and spit us out and leave us like every tory prime minister there as ever been. the conservative party would kill the poor pensioners of even more and will make the even more poorer by stopping all there winter fuel allowance etc.

  • To understand the politician and correctly to understand things, at first sight correct and necessary for development. But in practice opposite results turn out. The present politician, its talent, eloquence and qualities should convince the opponent to change the opinion. And to force to think categories of the politician of common sense.

  • Times, circumstances vary. The political climate has changed. In 20 century the monarchic ideology has sufferred defeat. Fault of this opposition is not studied. Concepts to the left ideology and right actually are not familiar to a society

  • My response below to boylepw.

  • All well and good provided it can b afforded without hobbling future recovery and necessary investment in the wealth creating private sector.

Also govs should save cash in the good times for emergencys , like we have now.Except our gov didn't save a bean it just taxed , spent and BORROWED.Hence the hole we're in !

Paint it any colour u want the truth is Labour have fucked up bigtime and no-one wants to pay for their financial mess so I guess their out.

  • In 2001, the UK had to increase spending to prevent going into a recession, and then there was a reduction in the level of growth of public spending, so it was still above inflation! Since 2001, public debt was significantly lower than in 1997 when Labour came into power!

  • Nice try to back peddle because u know u can't defend the mess Labour have led us into.Again.Nice try.

  • What is needed to be defended? Having better hospitals? the minimum wage? more police? better state education? Free museums? Keeping out of a recession in 2001? Equality? passing the Human Rights act? Freedom of information act? need i go on?

  • Please defend 1 why Brown took away the ability for the BoE to regulate the economy and created the "very light touch" FSA which has failed.2 spending everything then borrowing in a massive boom leaving us wide open to more financial pain than is necessery 3 endebting us all inc tomorrows children 4 claiming that in the boom we were in a period of sustainable economic growth. The incompetence is staggering and plain to c by anyone in receipt of reason.

  • 1) What regulatory ability from the B of E! It was removed by the tory party already when they deregulated the financial services!!

    2) To continue to repair the damage caused by underfunding on services such as the NHS and education under the conservative Government

    3) to reduce the impacts of the recession for those in most need, rather than benefiting the richest 1% by giving them a tax cut!

    4) even the IMF, the most right wing economic agency called it sustainable economic growth!!!

  • boylepw - 1) Go to The Independent article - Tories vow to tighten bank regulation about ur query over regulation2) Your saying its right to tax ,spend and borrow in a boom to repair damage caused by a gov who left office 12 yrs ago.PATHETIC.

  • boylepw 3) the responsibilty of reducing the impact of the recession is the responsibility of the gov of the day.Todays and tomorrows children, under a competent gov , would not have to foot the bill.4)It isnt the job of the IMF to regulate our economy, again, its the job of the gov of the day and the bankers themselves.

  • 1 - You obviously don't remember the 1980's where as long as they made money, the tories didn't care as all of them were making money from the banking system! It's all good saying it now, but our regulation system was still stronger than most countries

2 - Do you not remember the complete destruction of the Mining, steel, coal, regulation in the 1979-1997? The damage done then was so severe that since 1997, government spending on services such as the NHS had to be increased to mean best service!

  • 3 - Responsible - by cutting the State pension? by getting rid of the Winter Fuel allowance? By getting rid of the national Minimum wage? Tax cut for the richest 1%? HOW IS THAT RESPONSIBLE? How comes all the world leaders are listening to how Mr Brown is using a financial stimus to improve rather than cut back on essentials! ENGAGE YOUR BRAIN ONCE IN A WHILE?

4 - No the IMF doesn't regulate, but read it and you will see that I never said they did! They do however look at economic Growth!!

  • Labour was handling the economy very well for a very long period of time until this GLOBAL recession came along. We WILL recover, and the money that has been borrowed to see us through this temparary bad period will be paid off. Cameron can't afford to wait for that to happen. This is why he's getting all over-exited with his petition for a general election as soon as possible. I recall the Conservative Party getting us into a massive debt just so that they could bribe voters with tax cuts.

  • Only the traditional policy of common sense, expediency in the politician, economy the keystone to success.

  • I agree with you. But it is a complex theme. There was a war, rigid opposition. I too am offended on 80s. Its mistakes are obvious. The main and obvious mistake of 90 years. This construction of the new world order. Restoration of a role of Aristocracy in political activity. There were many mistakes, but Cameron the leader and talented, its star of the world politician ahead. We shall restore validity greatness of England, as empires.

  • Cameron hasn't changed, If you listen to what he says and take out all the glitz and spin, then he is saying exactly what was said in the 80's!

  • yes, its called having an understanding of the times! I have spent many hours writing reports on the economic position of the UK in the 80's and how the Tories used the UK to experiment monetarist policies, which for most people seemed floored right from the start! In this time i have spoken to a wide range of people, used written sources and raw data to look at the economic well being of the population, and the Tories only benefited the richest 10%

  • Only a victory! Seen by me. Very much impresses, I have seen persons of people, with love, with hope, yours faithfully. Impresses a birth of the new leader of a world scale. The future belongs to conservatives.

  • The conservatives, of which has hardly changed since the destruction of the UK in the 80's. Cameron now an MP rather than aide,

Maude, Heald, McLoughlin, Willets, Mitchell, Fox, Lansley, Davis, Lidington, among others all had either roles under thatcher or were aides to key areas such as the Exchequer, where irresponsibility led to mass unemployment and rises in the poverty rate!

And then we get to a former leader in Hague, another aide to the chancellor!!

  • Do you think it credible to give an opinion about how it was in the 80's when you were a little child back then?

  • What, if the conservatives get in, and key services such as the NHS, Education and police are cut back to a point where state provision is no longer deemed adequate.

I do love the way you have successfully failed in putting any reasoned arguments across and have now turned to personal attacks. Looks like your education (or should I say ur) seems to have failed with spelling, Not enough money to go to Eaton? if you want to put strikes below the belt, feel free! You've still not got any policies

  • You don't get it do u ? When we go bankrupt or buried under inescapable debt ALL services will b cut.FFS...

Its not lack of education u just rant on like a bonehead ignoring the evidence. Please back up ur statements with facts and people will b more likely to believe u.

  • The UK is not heading to bankruptcy, Debt is still well below 100% of GDP, and reducing the impacts of a recession is more important than letting all output from the UK die!

Lack of education is clearly visible with your arguments, you are still to put forward any actual arguments yourself apart from scaremongering about how the UK will go bankrupt! There is no evidence to prove that the UK will apart from economists. If you put all the economists in a room, none of them will agree!

  • Ok what do u know ?and from what source backs u up? that everything is fine and dandy and we can go on spending like this.

  • Well if you look at Government spending as a percentage of GDP without financial market intervention (which is through preference shares with high interest rates) then it is currently at a similar level to 1997 when Labour came into power! and we didn't go bankrupt under the tories did we!

  • They are borrowing a lot of money and if no problems come from that then labours plans will work. I'll give you a clue though; try doing this at home. ;0) Money is reality and reality will catch up with you!

  • If you look at every world country, then the fact that public debt is a very good way of increasing capital investment in the economy!

  • I think boylepw inhabits la la land.A world of never ending money supply where reality is an inconvenience.

I think you'll find as matters evolve you'll b questioning ur own beliefs. That is when reality knocks on ur door.

  • the brand new idea that people have a right to ask questions! Genius!

NIce to hear the explaination of how the conservatives will pay for all the new schools cameron claims he will build - NOT.

More genius! - 'Lets change regulation on financial markets..' great... HOW David HOW... TO make it less regulated???

headteachers! You are in charge - if you screw up its not our fault its yours!

  • A conservative mp talking about good public schools! where did you send your kids cameron?

How anyone can believe a word he says is beyond me. He's even more smug than Hazel Blears and i'm not even sure that is possible

  • Public schools are technically in the UK like Eaton and Harrow! SO Good public Schools are good for the elite!

  • Conservative MPs standing down at next election due to expenses fiasco.Just shows Camerons Conservatives r willing to fall on their swords- very honourable.

  • It's called a publicity Stunt! Look at who is standing down - Anthony Steen (69), Douglas Hogg (64) are both standing down and retiring, thus getting a pension. It's not really honourable, its just maximising future income for them!

  • "Publicity stunt" Spin, ring any bells!

  • The tories know all about spin! Just read their manifesto - not one solid 'policy' which is not contradicted by another 'policy' or what David Cameron says - Go green anyone? When he has a chauffeur driven car behind him carrying spare clothes and his brief case! Blatant spin there!

  • Torys the Spinmeisters ! LMAO

As for policies u could try cutting public debt , wrapping up quangos, empowering people to have power over their own llives , sorting out the welfare state, enforcing the law correctly, protecting civil liberties.addressing education shortfalls.Just a start. Not bad eh !

  • Cutting public debt at the time we are currently in is one of the most stupid things imaginable! Only a tory could come out something that irresponsible. The empowerment of people has already happened. Anyone heard of the equalities bill or Human rights act? The welfare state is in a better condition than 1997.

Do you know what Civil Liberties are? as that comment is just stupid!

More money has been spent on education since its destruction under Thatcher and Major!

  • Its not always how much u spend its about how effective what u do spend is-more bang for ur buck GET IT !

  • What by cutting frontline services? like they always do?

  • boylepw - I think you'll find its Lab who r most likely to cut front line services as they have created a bloated state , welfare dependency , more databases,ID cards and jobsworths at every turn.

The Torys will cut through this waste and save billions leaving more money left to reduce debt , invest in future opportunities and bring us back to financial stability and growth.Lab r unwilling to make these savings and r therefore more likely to make cuts to frontline services.

  • If you look at the track record of the Labour Party, There are more Nurses and Doctors than 1997, more police people and more teachers, by cutting investment it will be these staff who would be ousted first as the backroom staff (many positions of which were created pre 1997) are more expensive to dispose of!

  • Who said The Torys will cut frontline services ?

  • Well Cameron did when he said he was going to Cut Government spending!!!

  • Gov spending has to be cut.Today uks credit rating was downgraded from stable to negative for the 1st time in decades. Its a vote of no confidence in the uks ability to finance £175 billion gov spending.

Hence its likely Lab will have to cut gov spending.

Cutting gov spending is an absolute must , its not negotiable ,to believe it is , is simply unrealistic .

  • by the IMF - The right wing economic agency! Getting out of a recession is the most important thing at the current time!

Cutting Government investment is irresponsible and will lead to even higher unemployment. Despite what the tories think, Unemployment is not a price worth paying!

  • It is totally clear to me that we do need to "Control government spending" despite whatever scare stories are dreamt up by zanulab. Our North Sea oil & gas money has been wasted on quangos.

Just think of it this way; when you spend your own money you are careful, when you spend someone else's money on yourself you are not so careful (e.g. expenses:-), when you spend someone else's money (taxes) on someone else you are not at all careful.

  • Waiting for the punchline !

  • Cameron knows very well Brown will cling on till the last minute before calling a general election, just as John Major did under the last Tory government.

When Major made such a shambles and Tory economic policy bankrupted thousands of mortgage payers and small businesses in the Black Wednesday mess Major knew the electorate would have got rid of him and his incompetent party in 1992 but they had to wait until 1997 before they got a general election.

  • Well surely sorting out the recession is the most important thing? And under a tory Government that would not happen! The Bank bail outs would not have happened. Any banks which needed assistance would have been allowed to go under like Lehman Brothers, and depositors would lose money? So tell me why there should be an election when that would mean parliament would be dissolved in a situation when they are most needed. IT WOULD BE IRRESPONSIBLE much like having a Tory Government!

  • Down with labor rats. They are the most corrupt and wastefull party in Britain.

  • When asked what he would do differently, he said:

    1. "Control government spending."

It's the same old conservative agenda and it means cutting investment.

    2. "Regulate financial services differently." How differently?

    3. Reform the welfare state and "get those people working."

    How?

Where's the content? How can we compare if he's afraid to give any detail?

  • When asked what he would do differently, he said:

    1. "Control government spending."

Cuts in spending on key areas which do not benefit Tory Donators

    2. "Regulate financial services differently." Remove all regulation

    3. Reform the welfare state and "get those people working."

By getting rid of benefit payments, thus forcing them below the poverty line and out of legal work into the black market/below the minimum wage jobs that are unregulated!

  • Go Cameron! :). I've met plenty people who voted Labour and said never again!

The minimum wage was great idea (but they just tax it to death so your still left poor), council tax bills are too high, immigration a joke, crime soaring, police over-stretched and yobs just infesting our streets, guns, knife crime, debt, pc, red tape, lies, NHS in a mess, Labour have failed the disabled people (I'm one) & the eldarly lacking care & financial support. Education poor, truancy rising, discipline.

  • Ok there are more police men on the street, more Community support officers, better funding and more investment in the police force,

The NHS has had well above inflation investment increases and has more nurses, doctors, Healthcare assistants than when the tories ruined it. People getting seen within 6 months rather than the years it took before 1997. How is the NHS is as big of a mess than in 1997 or before?

  • "town hall meetings" gives me a flashback to US elections.

  • well he has stolen one of the catchphrases of President Obama - Does Dave the Chameleon think he has a left wing bias?

  • This is a really positive approach to the p.p broadcast. David Cameron for the win!

  • vote conservative!!! and lets kick out the bolsheviks-labour!

  • The Labour Party since coming into office in 1997 has increased investment in the NHS above inflation, has increased investment in education at above inflation, and brought in the minimum wage to bring 2 million people out of poverty! What did the conservatives do last time they were in power?

Cut education spending, push the NHS into the gutters and sell off all state owned companies for well below market value while getting building societies to demutualise = 2 recessions at the time + now!

  • If it wasn't for the conservatives in the 80s, Britain would still be in the shit like it was back in the 70s.

  • What with the destruction of all industry in the UK? a crippled health service? A 2 tier system with state provision being destroyed by the lack of investment by the Tory government?

  • "The Labour Party since coming into office in 1997 has increased investment in the NHS above inflation"

Yeah that's the problem, don't you get it? Too much spending is bad, even if too much spending means more medical treatment and less people in poverty. Do you get it?????????

  • What? Are you mad? A healthy population means steady economic growth! Surely even the most ignorant Right wing person should know that reducing poverty is essential for the economy and is the moral thing to do!

And since when are people measured in weight. Didn't your privileged upbringing teach you the difference between less and fewer?

  • The things you are saying are ridiculous, like the last words of a dying man. Your name's not Gordon is it?

  • No it's not! However have you ever thought of joining the BNP as you seem to have exactly the same opinion as themselves! However is your name Margaret and are you a Monetarist? like the tories experimented with?

Is Unemployment a price worth paying?

  • BNP? Your madness makes me feel vindicated.

  • well the BNP also want the UK to be destroyed by cutting all government spending off which doesn't benefit the richest few. And like Mr Chamelion you didn't answer the question. Is unemployment a price worth paying? and while your about it try and spin your way out of this question too - is poverty a price worth paying?

  • The UK IS destroyed, haven't you noticed? Well, almost. If we get our credit rating lowered then that is the closest thing to bankrupsy we can get. Then it's hello IMF.

Also stop talking about unemployment. It's already high and getting higher.

I don't know what you mean by "is poverty a price worth paying". Do you mean mass poverty, and a price worth paying for what?

  • no the UK is not destroyed. Remember it was the credit agencies which are partially responsible for this recession! And we are nowhere near needing to go to the IMF, France and the USA are in far worse positions to us!

Surely unemployment should still be kept as low as possible rather than letting it become even higher than absolutely necessary?

do you actually care if more poverty is created by cuts to welfare payments or the abolition of the minimum wage such as the Conservatives support?

  • Don't let these lot back in on the back of a global recession that the current government didn't cause. They gave the UK TWO recessions the last time they were in office and at neither time was there a global recession. Have they changed? No. The answer to EVERYTHING will always be to cut government investment in the services that most of us value. They'll cut when things are going well and they'll cut when things aren't going so well too.

  • anyone who cares about other people would never even consider voting conservative. It's all about looking after the greedy rich people.

People who have money and do actually care about other things other than themselves do not vote tory.

This guy is the man who appears nice but still fronts the party full of snobs, racists and elitists.

They are still trying to con the poor into voting tory.

  • well said

  • Well done, That is total correct! Well done

  • here here

  • well im sorry if they are are working the best they can it obviously shows that you dont care about fellow man

go and live in america youd do much better there

  • not a man for the job, he is hiding a lot of things from the thatcher era, he will not help families or single parent families insted rid them of jobs . get rid of the minimum wage . people if common sense prevailed you would not vote tory

  • Get a grip.

SIngle parent families need to learn to stand on their own two feet more. If we had more stable families then the country as a whole would be better.

It's not up to my taxes to be wasted supporting the bone idle. The welfare system should be in place to support in times of need. At the present it replaces the need to work for so many people.

  • Well if you think that everyone who needs financial support is unemployed try getting your head out of your backside and leave your gated community!

Many people who are on Tax Credits work extremely hard, or are unable to get a job due to being let down by the education system which was underinvested in by repeated Conservative Governments. Perhaps if people were willing to help fellow citizens then our country would be in a greater position than we currently find ourselves.

  • 100% he should be Prime Minister.

  • David Cameron tells the truth and then is blamed for causing trouble.

ID Cards have hidden flaws which can cause more problems than they solve. In the current situation the money could be used for more productive projects.

We need a General Election this year to create new public unity.

David Cameron gives straight answers so people can see how to improve their lives and not have false hopes.

  • So has he finally admitted that HE was responsible for the demutualisation of the banks, which has actually caused this situation? or the deregulation of the financial services? or that his party don't actually care about state provisions such as the NHS - where they want the private health insurance company system of the USA? and will CUT their way into an economic mealtdown such as in 1991?

  • *puke*

He just sounds so patronising, that's the problem.

Oh, and stop copying Obama with all this 'change' stuff.
