That being said...amputees and other physical ailments can be healed AND HAVE BEEN! However, it is infinitely more important than healing that someone know the value of giving and strengh and weakness. I would know. Amputees and physical diseases are a result of our mistakes and sins, not God's vengence, but our willful seperation from the being from whom all life flows. Okay on the question of why doesn't God heal people born without limbs...it seems kind of simplistic to me. They are BORN that way, and if God exists, he must know about the person before they came into existence and therefor planned on them having such a lack of some appendage(s). This fits in with the idea that God has a purpose for everyone, and if he is omniscient, then he must be able to see things in their future that we cannot. There would then be no need to heal them.

As a Christian, I don't really agree with his attitude in talking about God healing people by having them go through amputation. Amputation may save lives, but it heals one problem while creating another lifelong problem to suffer with.
Skip to 5:45, though, and he starts saying things right. Jesus healed the maimed, so yes, amputees can be healed. Interesting when atheists, specifically, bring this question up, though. Don't they not believe in any healings, anyway?

What you have not explained is why, in this age when there are numerous truly faithful Christians, there are no accounts of limbs being restored without the intervention of medical science nor why the limbs which are restored are only restored within the current limits of medicine (for example, nerve reattachment and regeneration).

OK the point of this question is missed here. Luke, please address this: why does God only heal stuff you can't see? ...ever. THIS is the heart of the original question. You occasionally hear of visible healings, but it virtually never happens. Yes, I see God "did it" in the Bible. But those days are way gone, aren't they? Why? God does not heal amputees, or blindness, or disfigurement, or ANYthing else provable. God seems to deal only in the abstract.

First of all. Amputiee dosent have to be a result of something. People are born without arms and legs.
And when a person that have a disease and gets amputeed they get it by a doctor, then its the doctor who does the work and its no healing? Its a logical solution. The virus is in the leg, cut of the leg and throw it away and the virus cant spread to your heart. Its so simple! Its no "healing"...

Gods plan is not subject to mans approval. One of the contentions of the "why wont God heal amputees" argument is that God just isnt "fair" to amputees. Yet, Scripture is clear that God is perfectly just (Psalm 11:7; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-6) and in His sovereignty answers to no one (Romans 9:20-21). A believer has faith in Gods goodness, even when circumstances make it difficult and reason seems to falter. Who are we to question the Almighty? We are on trial, not him.

Mr. Cunningham unknowingly shows his selective bias, in this case using - among others - the "preemptive consequence" false argument: God heals future amputees by endorsing amputation. This is the same confused premise as saying, "A woman aborted her fetus because it might have grown up to be the next Hitler".
Arguments aside; Mr. Cunningham, why won't God miraculously restore or regrow missing limbs to those born without feet, hands, legs, arms?

Another point of view = If there is no God, why should we care if people have lost limbs? in a world void of God, lost limbs would be indifferent that is not good or bad; they would simply be, a fact of life no different from a tree shedding leaves. All of this along with the author of the question assumes an active and interacting God. The problem for Christians and the theist-like is that the burden of explaining the existence of evil lies upon you if you do not accept absolute free will (Deism).
