  • Dislikers! what's wrong with this track?

    Honestly, I don't care...

  • this one should have been in the regular album tracklist and Nepenthe should've been the bonus, fuck!

  • How is this deathmetal?

  • Opeth is GOD !

  • Has anyone noticed that when you play "Harlequin Forest" after "Face in the Snow" the whole ting can sound rather great? I don't know if this is because of the similitude in vocal melodies, but goddamn it sounds good...

  • @DemonSlide Hell yeah :D thanks bro

  • I can't believe I'd thank a fan of Opeth for uploading a "whole" song.. but THANK you so much that you did! The two other uploaders cut out the wonderful intro of the song. Idiots!

  • Oh my god, gorgeous...Poetry and music, both beautiful and in the same moment. Mikael does it again...

  • just great!

  • What a beautiful song.

  • "If you’re like me, I always find the saddest music is also the most beautiful..." - Steven Wilson, regarding Porcupine Tree's Stop Swimming.

Definitely think it applies here. So sad, but this song is jaw droppingly beautiful.

  • one of the best songs

  • Wow.....

  • I love this shit! Truely the 'Specialist in fingerpicking music making mr Mikael Akerfeldt Genius' should be his name:D

  • sages and seers

  • This is real beautiful!!!

  • @cody71i

Then I looked what you have writed, he started to sing.. funny

  • This guy is a genius song writer...

Carefully read all the lyrics of the songs by Opeth, at least go through some of them...

Its way way more than conventional song writing...

  • magic

  • @sillymoodisiam Yeah, it's located in Bath. I got to go there earlier this year as part of a school trip oddly enough. Beautiful place.

  • A very good song this is. I don't know why they didn't include it on every edition of the album.

  • Cody71 ... you're using my fucked up lyrics dude

replace " somethinger " with " sages and seers "

    Sing365 sure takes anything ;(

  • Can someone tell me where is that place and location on the cover of Morning Rise album? Is it in Sweden? Please some one...

  • @siliyemoodislam Palladian bridge, its in england

  • @LumberjackShred Thank you sir!

  • @LumberjackShred I'd like very much to visit it someday. Would be an amazing experience for an Opeth lover such as myself. The Morningrise cover is still one of my favourite album covers ever. What a beautiful photograph.

  • Awesome. nothing more to say...

  • this song is incredible. Loved it the first time I heard it

  • @TheAdam159 Mee too!I'ts simply AWESOME!

  • This album is definitely the most radical departure of their careers. This is a good tune, why they left this off and left on tracks like Slither is beyond me.

  • I know Akerfeldt likes to change things, but imo the band dropped the ball with this album. Not that they should repeat themselves, but I remember when both 'Deliverance' and 'Damnation' came out simultaneously, the former being the dark and heavy metal album while Damnation was the total opposite melodic counterpart.

If they had released another album to go along this one, another polar opposite, that would of been epic. But alas that's Opeth for you, always evolving into what I do not know.

  • @MegaHeelhook I fully agree with you :)

  • this is just too beautifull and relaxing

  • I love the bonus tracks on this album, there better than the songs that made it on the album in my opinion. I respect the change Opeth went through, but any true fan would be dissapointed by Heritage. It's just not as immerse are there previous works, the heavy aspect of Opeth is huge. It's there roots. it's like a massive part of their music is missing. Still though, I look forward to anything that Akerfeldt puts out. What an amazing musician. What an amazing band.

  • the kid a of opeth

  • thank god i discovered this and "Pyre" before i got really dissapointed with the album, and turned away from it. The old OPETH is still in there somewhere.

  • Well I can understand why they left this one off the album, because it's rather vague and nondescript (even though the atmosphere is cool)

    At least it was released!

  • wow this song is fantastic...love it on first hear...

  • @djukicuros meni je prejaka vokalna melodija kad pocne bubanj

  • @overflea odlicna stvar :) sva sreca, meni je nekako izvukla album...

  • the bonus tracks are as good as any of the other tracks on heritage and its a perfect album

  • This is such a beautiful chilled out track. Songs like this always put me into a deep day dream, its like i am taken into the devil's orchard itself! Fantastic!

  • nice!!

  • The first few notes convinced me.

  • @Menticideath

    Or Stargazer.

  • @Menticideath

    Or Stargazer.

  • @MaxReinsch

    YES

  • Sounds like something off of Ghost Reveries. But yeah, it really should have been on the album. This song is so damn good, and it feels really weird to like a b-side...

  • @engraveddrummer yes, this feels like ghost reveries. I think thats the reason he didnt put it directly on heritage.

  • The only decent song from the album

  • Killswitch Engage already did a pretty rockin' cover of Holy Diver, not to say the Opeth version would be any less legitimate. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I think it's pretty cool to create something new instead of retreading the past.

  • may slither seems a little strange because it's one of the most up tempo songs of opeth in genral.but still has this feeling and it's finale is just great, pure quality.

  • Why couldn't the album be as good as this song in general? This shouldn't have been an "extra". It should have been on the album, wtf.

  • after hearing heritage (the album) over and over, along with the two bonus tracks, im really curious why he didn't throw these in. one of the songs I really don't like on the album is Slither, I know it's a tribute for Dio, but it couldve been done so much better in my opinion, he shouldve done a cover of Holy Diver or something, THAT would be fucking sick

  • @skateNappreciate Yeah. I agree dude. Slither was the only mediocre song on Heritage in my opinion. The rest were awesome including the two bonus tracks. And a cover of holy diver would be orgasmic

  • @skateNappreciate actually i think that slither is the best song on the album... but it's the matter of taste ^^...

  • @DiamondDimebagDarrel Slither is the least developed most straightforward song IMHO..

  • @MawcDrums yeah definetly, but i like cause of that...sometimes, simple things can be awesome.. but i agree with all of you saying that Face in the snow should have been on the album...i think that even Pyre should be on the album...

  • @skateNappreciate If they did a cover of Holy Diver, they'd probley just let Fredrik handle the solo as they do these days. ..which is disappointing to me, cause I love Mikael's finesse in his guitar solos.

  • @Attuneawake78 YES. So true.

  • @skateNappreciate Nobody needs any more holy diver covers.

  • @skateNappreciate I only listen to that song because of the guitar solo.

  • @skateNappreciate i think holy diver is over copied... when he did was supposed to be simple... not some 7/8 jazz beat and then an intense acoustic solo followed by a heavy 7/8 beat

  • @skateNappreciate slither is an amazing song, i guess!!

but yes they would have done better!!

    opinion depends..!!

    no offense in you! \m/

  • kinda reminds me of the bonus tracks to Blackwater Park: Still Day Beneath the Sun and (my favorite opeth song) Patterns in the Ivy II

  • @skateNappreciate

    My thoughts precisely!! : )

  • @skateNappreciate

yah man i was just gonna say that glad i read the comments :)

  • I think this song'll go down as another Opeth classic.

  • pretty sweet, cant take the crackles from the louder notes in the beginning though -.-

  • opeth is an awesome band that confirm in more of a one situation that they are able to do exatly they want.i love them and their malinconic music

  • Awesome album, i was some more metal though too

  • This video is proof that Youtube should have a "Love" button.

  • " No more wishes for the past no lingering of " somthinger " desperations and fevers last the undertows are stronger here and here I lie, another morning arise too far away from coming home I see your face in the snow inside my head a voice calls for me I see your face in the snow and outside the sun is to far away to feel and here I lie, another morning arise too far away from coming home and could we live within the wake of hidden lies when we're too far away ... "
  • @cody71i Do u know the meaning of this song?

  • This is pure beauty. I love all Opeth, with maybe the exception of 'Hex Omega.'

  • @MysticLycium Whats wrong with Hex?

  • \@directorc1 Actually, after hearing the new album, I will say.. nothing! Nothing is wrong with Hex Omega.

    'Heritage' is a beautiful album.

  • @MysticLycium You mean Haxprocess? O_o Hex Omega is an old song.

  • @Naxnaxs lol I know; But Hex Omega was the first Opeth song I didn't totally love. But after hearing The Throat of Winter, and the new album, I think Hex Omega makes sense.

  • opeth does things musically i never knew existed

  • Miss old Opeth! :(

  • I love how this band has evolved. This is what they should have been.

  • thx :)
