Oh my gosh I got this solo a couple of days ago and I had NO idea it sounded like this! Now that I'm hearing it, it should be a bit easier to play, though I'm still a bit shaken up on how he played those fast notes :P
I have been struggling with this solo, but hearing you play it and hearing the articulation you're using is helping me. I have to memorize the whole piece and play it in about four weeks. Thank you for posting this.
as a tuba player, my god your high range is fucking amazing!!! i have been playing for 7 years and i am 17 now, but my god :/ i feel like i am shit haha
Amazing sound! Greatest tuba player i have ever heard! Im also a tuba player and have to play this for an upcoming solo and ensamble. Once again AMAZINGLY played!
How astonishing to hear this played so gracefully on the tuba. When I was singing this music, the runs were extremely difficult for my spinto voice so I can only imagine the practice it took to do such a great job on this instrument. Bravo!
I always like to be inspired by singers, and try to produce the same flexibilty of the voice on the tuba...you are right, it takes a lot of practice but it's something that can improve a lot my musicality.
@TMNoob3 im also playing this solo. its going pretty great so far. 16th notes are sorta giving me trouble. but hey just got it this week. im also from Texas
@CookieNewt ... practice slow...then play faster and faster.... thats what im doing... the runs are quite similar... basically scales ... i may not know what i am talking about, because im just 17 years old.... but im like 99.99% sure im right :D .... good luck... btw im playing this for my solo and ensemble piece :D

Greetings, from a fellow tuba player in Texas (Howdy thar!)
I would just like you to know, that you are an inspiration to me!
You have an exellent tone, that I just cant find in any other tubist. (Baad is alright, but just doesn't have the same tone as you)
I will be playing this exact solo for my solo&ensemble contest.
Wish me luck, and wish a good day to you!

All I can say is, fantastic sound. Im a rookie on tuba, I just wanted to ask, what techniques are useful for doing 16-note runs.
