sure, even with the cheapest basic version with HD4850 it will run pretty good. I had the same Graphicscard and i was able to run all high on 1280x800 resolution.
im planin on savin up for this laptop , on some review site , it was ranks 4.5/5 from over 1,000 people! i want to be able to run cod4,crysis,far cry 2, and gears of war on it , does this computer do the job , please reply!
is 8600m GT better than 8400M GS? (thats what i have) i wanna play aion, but i dunno if i can. i have a xps m1530 2.1ghz intel core2 duo. slightly overclocked my gpu. temps at 65 celsius. (should i push the overclocking a lil more?)
I noticed that resolution affects frame per second more than game settings. If you put everything on high but using 800x600, the gameplay is nice and smooth. If you put everything on medium but use 1440x900, the gameplay is choppy. Medium on high resolution does look better though. Ultra-high setting on high-definition resolution, now that's something I'd like to experience in the future!
I've tried to get it back to XP and its not good... I searched a lot, 1. I made it to recognize the HD, then I looked for XP driver, but most of them are only made to vista, I red a lot forums, download alternative drivers... I was pissed off, so I went back to Vista, anyway, this machine is so powerfull that now I almost like Vista ahah, I even run pro tools on it, very fast and reliable... that's my advice friends.(my pc is an xps m1530,3gb ram,2.4processor,256mb video)
if your pc cant run crysis had it must be from the stone age i played it on a 2000 alieware single core 1.8 core with one gig of ram and a 256agp card also if you thinking well thats because its an alienware well i have an old 2004 hp livestrong edition that can also play it and it has an amd 1.8 single core with agig of ram and a ati 128mb video card so if you dont think your rig cant take it than just tone down the settings and upgrade your card and kill vista
today Crysis is a game for the absolute minority of the pc-users since its a game that really rely on graphics! maybe in half a year or a year, we'll see that people can actually afford a computer to run crysis! and bioschock is definetly superior, because of the story and action, and finally bioshock has an actual atmosphere.
I have basically the same laptop, got it for school. Only difference is the proc speed (I just got the one up from yours). Results look Identical though.
you can still install xp on it. it is just a little more complicated. if you google it you should come up with some guides or better answers on some forums!
Yea I installed XP on mine, but the drivers that are compatible with it can actually be found on the m1730's support page, and I tried installing m1330 drivers on it, but they didn't work, but the m1730's worked :D
this laptop cannot play it on high. I have the 1530 with 2.4Ghz,3 gigs ram, nvidia 8600 and if I put it on high then it freaks out and takes 5 minutes to load the menu let alone the actual game.
Crysis is not made to run as efficiently as some other modern games. Most computer (even new) struggle to play this game. Doom 3 had the same problem back in the day.

there are rumors flying around that dell will soon put 8700m gt or 8800m gtx in the m1530s in a few months so if i were you i woulsd stay put for a few months thenpurchase if no changes occur and if something does change, just send your comp back to dell in 30 days and you will be given a full refund
the only game youll ever need is Battlefield 2,as long as it can play BF2 in full grafics then you wont need a better computer =D, that and the computer needs to look good xD
I say save up for the SLI 8800GTX Dell. It's way more powerful than PS3 and 360 and will easily handle Crysis and Future direct x 10 games, or you can get the single 8800GTX Alienware which is 600ish dollars cheaper than the dell.
yeah but it cost like 5k, for that price just the desktop xps 720 h2c or what ever, and the laptop u mentioned wheighs about 10 lbs, hs a 2 lb power brick so go figure.
OR you can get a SAGER NP5793 with a 8800m GTX that is even more cheaper then the overheating crap known as the m15x. BTW if size isnt an issue the SAGER NP5793 comes with a 17" monitor and isnt monster looking like the HEAVY dell M1730
