classical guys tend to have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of songs in their repertoire. you kinda need sheet music to make sure everyone is on the same page so that you dont all have to practice the song a million times to get the feel down together. having it on paper means you can substitute musicians, and you can play new songs, with little or no practice together, and still pull it off.

kronos quartet does some great stuff...they re made a kraftwerk tune which i cant recall right now and it was just rankin!!! they work with steve reich also...just freeking amazing music re arrangements leaning toward psychotic
