  • Just for public concern:

    Airbus A350 XWB Orders: 505

Roll Roice Trent XWB Engine Orders: 1010 ; )

The A350 XWB: Fastest selling plane EVER.

The Trent XWB: Fastest selling plane engine EVER.

  • @arsenium666 actually No 787 orders 847 Scarebus A350 orders 528

  • The Trent 1000 is behind the GE engine on the Dreamliner because GE have a risk sharing stake in the frame. So, naturally the GE engine is considered to be the engine for the Dreamliner. Customers can 'also'choose the Trent. I know which one I would choose ..... and it begins with R. I want hollow filled Titanium fan blades not plastic ones.

  • Fantastic!

I work for Rolls-Royce and I know very well all the effort it took to get that bird off the ground!

Just hope that Boeing can make then fast enough...

    My job depends on it!

RR best engines money could buy~!

  • You should better put your hopes on the A350XWB...

Rolls have the Xclusivity on the Engine Supply...with the Trent XWB a much powerful, quieter, ecofriendly and overall better product than the Trent 1000.

In the 787 Rolls is behind GE in terms of total orders...in case you missed it.

  • @arsenium666. RR do not have an exclusive deal on the A350. RR never go looking for exclusive deals - they don't have to as their engines can openly compete with anything on the market. Concerning the 350, GE may yet provide an engine but as yet they haven't come up with the goods. So, RR is having a field day. I wouldn't think the XWB a much better product than the 1000 - as I know RR would have done their absolute best for the 787.

  • @viceroytennis

Check for info...as of now RR is the Xclusive Engine Partner in the A350 XWB project...all 500 orders are powered by Rolls Roice Trent XWB

This engine uses the core technology from the Trent 1000, Rolls and its partners (Kawasaki, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Parker Aerospace, etc) will enhance this platform through several stages of development to deliver more thrust and less consumption.

Just take a look at the performances...

  • Max. Thrust:

    -787´s Trent 1000: 53,00075,000 lbf

-A350 Trent XWB: 74,00092,000 lbf (xpected)

At same max thrust Trent XWB will be a 3% more fuel eficient than the Trent-1000

I know its hard to swallow, but newer means better.

  • 'Exclusive' means sole right to something. GE or PW or both combined might yet come up with an engine for one of the 350 series. They are not excluded from doing so. Singapore airlines actually say they want a choice. I think the 350 is the best thing ever for RR. I watch this company v.v. closely. The XWB will be an amazing engine. From 74-92,000 Ib thrust. But, it's not there yet and what we have now is the 1000. Four to five years on from now, must be better of course.

  • @viceroytennis

Right now Rolls Roice is the xclusive engine supplier for the A350 XWB...

Right now the basics of the XWB engine had been tested and managed to XCEEDED design performance...mid 2010 will be flown on a A380 wing and certification might happen as soon as 2011.

Right now both planes are just prototypes...so we can just compare both in terms of design specs.

  • @Dr0Van

In Rolls Royce Trent XWB´s Programme Director Chris Cholerton words:

"It (this programme) has already set a record as the fastest selling Trent engine, passing through the Trent-1000 engine sales mark

  • Wow!! I am proud to have been there live! Videos can't compare to the real thing but it's still amazing. Its a much delayed jet but it was worth all the wait. The noise was much more minimal than on this vid and the wingflex is amazing. I'm proud to work for Boeing! :)

  • I was awe struck when it flew, it's beautiful.

Waiting for GEnx prototype (supposed to be 2 GEnx 787s right?).

  • You know the majority of those sounds are from the chase planes. Those planes are T-37's, and they make a TON of noise because they're OLD. I was at taxi testing and the real airplane engines sound very quiet, for an airplane.

  • @eskercurve

That´s true starting at 0:38 NOT BEFORE.

    ; )

  • Those are T-33's, not T-37's

  • British Built Rolls Royce Trents, great engines.

  • Wonderful to see and hear this magnificent aircraft at last. Some day I must travel on it !!!!

  • Very Very nice sound!

  • FUCKN A!!!!!! HEAR HER ROAR!!!!

  • WOW!!

  • Enjoy the Sound...
