  • Låtstöld eller inte. Debatten påminner mig om att detta är en fantastisk, om än något bortglömd, film!!

  • skitsnack, är lika i början, men det händer hela tiden att låtar låter lika då och då, Stöld? Nejnej, Janne Berger verkar ju slut i huvudet.

  • When I think that this is a true story i feel sick. Turkey must be beautiful but im really afraid to go there after the movie!

  • Phantom of The Synths!

  • This isnt the same as the music in the film. In the film they have cut that electric drum sound out which is quite right because it does kinda spoil the music.

  • Amanda Knox should be happy she did not commit the crime in Turkey.

  • The orginal creator for the movie apologize to the Turkish Nation for this film and he said himself that a lot of things was exaggerated in the film.

For example, he never walked out like he did in the film, he escaped after a Boat Crash in the Sea!!

  • Saw this film at a midnight screening in wardour St London way back in 1978 when i was just 19, came out of the theatre that night a bit more grown up than i went in, the ending of the film and the music of Giorgio Moroder stays with me to this day, forget all the controversy surrounding the Turkish misrepresentation, Brad Davis apologised for his ignorange many years ago, sadly he died in 1995 but leaves a great performance for us to respect, as relevant a film now as it was in 1978..........

  • old french rap track use this sample ... can't remember it any idea ??

searched on some sample site but ... find anything

O povo turco é uma merda

  • DILLA DILLA DILLA! MIX MIX MIX!

  • Brads life was even more tragic than this film itself.

  • There used to be a TV commercial that said "If you get caught with drugs over there ,you'll be in for the hassle of your life". That's exactly what this movie is about. this film is 33 years old and I still recommend it. The music and movie are excellent .

  • this movie is really fabulous...the ending scene where billy exits the prison gives the viewer a sense of emotion similar to what billy feels...a sense of freedom. great film

  • bello, grande film

  • bad film good soundtrack!

  • brad davies... couldve been the next de niro. life cut short.

  • brad davies... couldve been the next de niro. life cut too short.

  • where can I find MIDI for this song?

  • Giorgio moroder the best

  • One of the best soundtracks, this and Platoon

  • what a great piece of art....

  • Giorgio Moroder is AWESOME! Everyone seems to only be uploading The Chase theme to YT, but there are many other great pieces of music on this soundtrack such as "Istanbul Opening" I can't find that anywhere..

  • HAVOC!!! MOBB DEEP!!!

  • J DILLA

  • Why is the pitch different from in the movie? I know it usually happens when there are 2 different singers for the movie and the soundtrack (like with Disney movies). But Giorgio Moroder did both of these, right?

  • How did Brad Davis die?....And,its weird how Billy Hayes is alive and the actor is dead,

  • @lazerbeak2125 do you know google? or wikipedia?

  • @lazerbeak2125 He died of AIDs in 1991.

  • This soundtrack and movie still gives me the chills...Oliver Stone is GOD period...Hate him if you want folks but gotta give the man his due. I dont think any other movie has made me feel as helpless while watching it. Screw these CGI movies. And I wasnt even born when this movie came out : )

  • this soundtrack was on an old turkish movie too... haha

  • Great summary of the movie. Every time I watch the film I feel so nervous of what's going on, that horrible fu**ing "punisher", the other fu**ing informer, omg! Sure everyone had the same feeling as I have when seeing the part he pulled out that tongue, when that 'police' suddenly dies thanks to that hanger perfectly placed xD and what about his final and so awaited escape!! Just brilliant.

  • un clasico excelente. Bande de sonido extraordinaria. no dejar de ver.

  • that policeman with the cigarette was a famous maltese actor. Today hes death .

  • in the film the song that jimmy booth sang after the court sentence billy no more than 30 years, that the song says some like that: 'ive got the old stambul blue, and gave me 30 years, and got nothing left to lose', etc. does that song really exists?, if it does exists? who sing the song ? thank you so youtubers!

  • a very moving film!!! thanks for sharing

  • One of my favorite films, and one of my favorite film themes.

  • Another good book,(not made into movie),is "Never Pass This Way Again". Dont recall the author's name, but she was aprahended and imprisoned in Turkey for trying to take artifacts out of the country;(unlike Hayes, she did'nt know she was doing anything illeagal).

  • I love both the song and the movie. I feel so sorry for Billy Hayes, although it was his own "fault".

  • Απίστευτη ταινία και καταπληκτικό soundtrack..

  • great film - great soundtrack - great actor ...

  • do deal for kicks and get rich quick with DILLAAA, DILLAAA, MIX, MIX, DILLAAA

  • ohh what a film!what a soundtrack!thnx for sharing!

  • @tripontos

    you are welcome :)

  • Wow, I've been searching for this sample for years, glad I finally followed the clues and found it. AMAZING THEME RIGHT HERE! Makes me want to see the movie just because of it . . .

  • thanks .... the same feeling i have !

  • @KoldShadow Jep, same here man....& what a great movie it is, although the book is better in my opinion. I'm also very curious because a few days ago i saw on NGC or Discovery (can't remember which) an announcement of a program where the real Billy will tell his story personally. Looking very forward to that ;-)

  • @oranjebelg

I actually saw an interview with him on YouTube, not too long after I first found the theme from the movie. All in all his story is very captivating as told by Hollywood, so it'll be cool to hear him tell it RAW. lol

  • @KoldShadow same story here, I was looking for that music theme since I was a teenager, and found it 7-8 years later (2006). Still, there's a variance of that theme in piano I used to listen to the radio, but still haven't found it.. Really inspiring..

  • It is a true story and at that tine America was saying that turkey is a hub for drugs. When they caught an American citizen with drugs they wanted to show the world how they treat drug pushers. dealing drugs is not a good thing but treat a prisoner that way is worst.

  • Is tha Book Diferant?

  • @Kittysiam it is extremely different. And more realistic. You should read the book. The movie is hollywood shit it is really extreme in the movie. In the book there aren't that much torture scenes. Especially the part hamidu tortured children infront of his kids is extremely lie. go read the book. this movie is a national hatred movie.

  • @napalmstrike2007

I've neither seen the film nor read the book, but I'm sure you're correct. Hollywood was, IS, and ALWAYS WILL BE a powerful propaganda machine, except without the explicit endorsement of the United States government.

  • Brill Film :)

  • The story is true. read the book.

  • The film was taken on the nice island of Malta and a small shots in Libja.

  • outkast sampled this for return of the "g"

  • great music

  • Oliver Stone "Midnight Express" movie because of my regrets This film is Turkey Smear campaign. So far the negative ideas about Turkey with Midnight Express, track and those who have an issue different from the hero of the event with citylisten in clay, this film really is a shame.

  • You might be surprised. They say that all publicity is good publicity. I remember how popular this movie was, it brought a lot of tourists, many actually visited Turkey BECAUSE of it! I remember visiting certain places relevant to the movie, cafes etc. although I went b/c of it's incredible history & beauty, the story was intriguing. BTW, Turkey is my all time favourite destination, the most beautiful & fascinating country I have ever been to. My only regret is I didn't have more time there.

  • ooooooooooooooooo

  • Oh, and I forgot to say, the Turkish people were hands down, the nicest and friendliest of any place I have ever been to. They were good, honest people. Once, one of my friends, accidentally overpaid a bus driver. After we got off, the bus started to drive off then stopped, reversed and the driver got out and handed my friend his money. We all looked at each other perplexed and then we realized! I'll never forget it. Ppl there were very kind & generous too.

  • Thank you very much bro.

  • @jtking2504 "the nicest and friendliest of any place" HA HA HA

THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS IS TRUE STORY - BUTTHEAD

  • @polime77, you are absolutely correct, it is a true story. Now is there any reason you feel the need to insult a complete stranger? I like the people of Turkey and I was treated with equal respect and kindness by them. So that makes me a 'Butthead'. OK then.

  • great music but not great film ... i am Turkish and really the story is not true... The creator sad that ..

  • thank you for comments , you know what ever ...this is soundtrack & all knows that !

Viva Turkish people ,Viva Greece , & Viva for the world :)

Movie is Movie , :) truth or not ..?? i dont Care !

  • @tverskoe Were you imprisonated during the 70:ies? ;-) The story in the movie takes place then. I'm sure, or at least I hope, it's much better now.

  • @LadyDoOrDie

yes you are right ! :")

  • yes :) i watch the film and really i anly smile..
