Back in the day. Borrowed moms 71 Satellite Regent station wagon to move some stuff to storage. She had owned it for about a year and I never paid it much attention (remember the Brady's wagon?, that one.) As soon as I touched the gas backing out of the drive way i knew something was up. My buddy Mike was with me Threw it in park jumped out and popped the hood there sat a 383 4bbl purring away. We had fun that day. Off to Fremont that Wed everybody laughed til it went 15.75 Can you say sleeper?
guys wow, ok check it out... LT1 was in a many of the cars just not "NAMED " LT1 ... they were the same blocks but with iron heads becasue most police force wanted them for durability at high temps... but it started like that in 91... in 96, you got the vortech aluminum head LT1... ;)
Mine sure does. Posi, too, dual exhaust (stainless, natch), leather, actual analog gauges. It's a 94 as well. Actually, I'm pretty sure after the 5.0 was dropped you couldn't get a Roadmaster without a 5.7l motor, whether the L05 or LT1 - it was one of the things that differentiated it from the Caprice (even the 9C1s, base motor was the L99 4.3, don't check the LT1 box that's whatcha get).
Me likey - I'll keep the like 8 grand difference over the Impala SS, thanks.
sick car man...if anyones intrested i live in the east coast and im about to put up a 1993 buick roadmaster 5.7l v8 fuel injected leather seats 138k miles for sale...im selling it becuase i got it from a familly friend because the owner passed away. hit me up if intrested
@TheMechRob in 92 the LT1 debuted in the Corvette. In 93 it made its way into the Trans Am and Z28. In 94-96 it was found in Fleetwood, Caprice, and Roadmasters. 97 was the last year for it in a F body(Z28/Trans Am) True Story
@TheMechRob From 1994-1996 the Roadmaster, like all B-Body variants, began utilizing the iron head version of the Gen II LT1 V8, it's 350c.i/5.7 liters producing 260 hp (194 kW) and 335 lb·ft (454 N·m) of torque.
