  • is Tabitha a single mother cat? wheres the father?

  • the scene where the dogs eat Jamimahs eggs has always upset me since I was a child. Its horrible.

  • Poor Foxy Whiskered Gentleman. He was always my favorite...even when I was a little kid.

  • Thank you soooooo much for uploading this!! Watching this brings back all those childhood memories I forgot I had.

  • awwwww the fox is sooo cute!

  • I would give this 1000 likes. I looooove Beatrix Potter her stories!

  • Will you ever be uploading the one with the original voices? Everyone keeps saying that the American voices sound horrible so I wanna hear the English accented ones! XD

  • can u upload the peter rabbit and benjaim bunny tale

  • The scene where the fox eats the eggs scared the shit out of me as a kid.

  • I Know those tales

  • 20:44 SURPRISE!

  • I don't see why they had to change their voices, i remember this so well from when i was little and the voices were a part of why it was so good, especially Jemima's!

  • ahh eww. No, I don't appreciate those horrid American accents.

  • That's so sad! D: She just wanted babies of her own, and although she was naiive with the fox guy, ironically the dogs that saved her ended up eating them. Poor Jemima! Thanks for sharing this video! It brings me back. :)

  • Am i the only one who was traumatized about the Egg scene & also the voice of Jemima majorly different from what i remembered .....

  • I have the whole series on old video sadly the dubbed voices do not make any sense to me. The people in the old videos doing the voices may have not been as well known/famous but their lakeland accents made more sense this is just silly to have English characters with American accents. But its still good to watch them all again. :) Thanks for uploading!

  • Do you have the one with the mice who help make a coat? I have it on VHS, but our TV/VHS player is busted... It's by Beatrix Potter, I know that.

  • Why have the kittens got American accents?

  • Wooooaahhh...

    Memories...

    So many memories...

  • Tom kitten is always my favorite. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Why have the animals all adopted dreadful american accents.....

  • @siuol123 :*(

  • @siuol123

I know, I hadn't even realised they had shown this in America, let alone redubbed it. I knew Beatrix Potter's stories were quite popular in Europe, but...

I just don't see the point of redubbing something if the language is already in English. (Especially in ACTUAL English accents) More importantly it just doesn't fit anyway, the stories take place in the English countryside.

  • @IAmCaptainMarvel We all think that way too over here. Too often it comes down to beancounter/focus group testers who say otherwise.

  • i never get tired of watching this... :)

  • I have found through deep searching why these are 'incorrect'. They are from Good Times. The 'correct' original voices are from the BBC versions...

For the British accents... BBC is the key...

  • I'll bet those dogs ate Jemima Puddle-Duck's eggs on purpose.

  • what kind of rescue mission is that!!??

  • haha hyasynth bucket as the other cat xD

  • why change the voice D:

did they think the americans wouldnt be able to understand a thick northern accent??

  • @xKamehameha I don't think so, since even I as a finnish girl can understand perfectly. But maybe they thought it would be more fancy... nowadays they're always re-doing everything. Sigh. Originals like this are always best

  • THANK YOU <3

  • The american company who distributed the Beatrix Potter tales should never have changed Su Pollard's voice over to a different woman. The duck doen't sound like Jemima without Su doing her voice.

  • @dnixon78 So that's what happened! :(

  • hei can you upload some sountrack music from this show plizz?

  • I used to have this on VHS and it sounded the same. I have always wondered why the mother cat would send her children out to play in new clothes and not expect them to get dirty! She should have waited to dress them 'til the company arrived!

  • @Alex242412 tom says i cant breathe even in a different way and the kittens have different voices too :S

  • @TheMegaInvader They Do! :S They sound... AMERICAN! :(

  • @grizelda1986 these voices aren't as good as the english ones! :D

  • @Alex242412 oh sorry hehehehe :D it aint :S

  • @Alex242412 it is su pollard, got dvd for this this week, been watching it non stop and already know the castlist off by heart :D could quote the whole video :) iloveit <3 <3

  • wow i love this! does anyone know what the music played at the start is called? its so beautiful! i've had the video of this for a while and always wondered . . .

  • I hope you will upload the Tailor of Gloucester.Thanks.

  • Some of the characters voices are different than what i remember.

  • I saw another video upload of Jemima Puddle-Duck... She had a different more expressive voice. The same is for other Beatrix uploads... are they special or remastered?

  • @FelidaeWarrior Well I'm not exactly sure. They may have re-dubbed this when they released it on DVD, cause you know this was aired on TV before in the 90's.

  • @pawinci Well if you don't mind my asking... how was it that you came to acquire such classic stroies...? That could reveal clues.

  • @pawinci DVD? What's this about DVD?! Where?!

  • @pawinci Wiki otherwise states this series was first aired in the UK back in '92.

  • @FelidaeWarrior yeah the other one was by Sue Pollard and this is the american version :( why do they have re voice things when they were fine and better before

  • @FelidaeWarrior It is different :( I don't like her voice in this at all, but the other voices are the same

  • @PaddlePopQueen I can sympathize... Peter Rabbit is like this as well. As to what conceived them to this change I have yet to understand...

  • @FelidaeWarrior I noticed that, they aired in New Zealand with the other voices so I find it harder to watch this one

  • I have been looking for Jemima Puddle-Duck forever

  • there's a deeper more touching story in Jemima if you look at it.

  • omfg iv been searching for this for years!

  • Despite Jemima's naivity I've always felt so sorry for her to trust the fox and then the foxhounds eat her eggs :( Though I'm glad she finally gets her eggs to hatch, it's such a sweet story!

  • Cousin Ribby is voiced by Patricia Routledge, who is famous for her role as Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances. Whenever she talked from 08:51-09:18 & 09:35-09:45, I used to always say "Hey! It's the Bucket woman!". Lol

  • @Raptormon132 It IS Hyacinth !! "No,it's BOO-KAY..." lol

  • @Raptormon132 Isn't she also Hetty Wainthrope too? lol

  • @Leanashe23

    Yep! She sure did.

    BTW, it's Wainthropp, not Wainthrope.

  • @Raptormon132 I remember that show!

  • @Raptormon132 Of course for me it would be "The Bucket residence, the lady of the house is speaking!" and talks of riverside picnics with riparian entertainment!

  • Yay, thanks so much for posting this. =) I grew up with this and Tom Kitten was always my favourite.

  • I used to love the storybook when I was little-thanks for the memories :-)

  • Very Kawaii :3

  • @MrOr4ANGEpm I didn't know you liked this stuff, lol.
