I admire Churchill, but alas, he was an imperialist. He even handed Vietnam right back to the French after the war, and despite their vaunted liberty and fraternity, the French imperialists did not extend those blessings to their colonial subjects, whom they exploited viciously. That was particularly true of Vietnam. But the US shares the guilt. A tragic mistake.
The scenes from 0:49 to 0:58 are from the 1968 film 'If....' by Lindsay Anderson. At 0:50 you see Malcolm McDowell, in his first feature film role, holding a machine gun. The story is set in a rigid boarding school and the plot is the evolution of McDowell's rebellion against the school's draconian regime culminating in a guerrilla attack on the school.
I remmber watching this when I was 11 or somthing and not knowing who Geroge Orwell was and not being able to process what all the "Big Brother" stuff was about. Now watching it again is very strange...
