LeeAnn does an excellent job on this one, although slightly hammy. She has a great voice, but I like songs sung straight without exaggeration or seemingly trying to outdo the original singer. I'm not accusing her of that, but some seem bent on doing that. I know some may say this is her interpretation, but I say sing the song straight. The same applies to those who mess with the national anthem, showing off their ability to sing up and down the scale. To me this is still Lisa Layne's song.

It's silly to act like there's no comparison or some huge difference between the respective talents because they are both simply excellent. There's something very classic about the song too. Give Vince Vance and whoever may have helped with the songwriting major credit.

I've met LeAnn several times and Deborah Allen also at a LeAnn Rimes Fan Club party back in like 01 in Franklin Tenn and have seen her perform live many times and they are both great singers and songwriters as well. Mariah Carey does this song very well too. This is actually the first time I've heard LeAnn do this song, she's really good. I don't think there is a song she couldn't do well.
