  • ooooooooooooover kill .... i love it !!!!!!!!!!

  • Masterpiece!!!!!

  • Hello damascus, where com's the water from the overflow in this sump?

  • a 100 gallon sump to filter a 10 gallon display tank :P

  • You must be a hydraulics engineer by trade lol.

  • hahaha you have too many chambers the water get confuse where to go.....:-)

  • That's a thing of beauty! It must weigh a ton.

  • Impressive. I don't get the point, but impressive.

  • shit!

    That is nice!!!!!!!

  • make me one..i will buy!

  • I like the water change whilst running...

the rest is overkill, it shouldn't have to be that complicated, all a sump is is a filtration chamber. Baffles are only required to separate filter media from pump compartments and remove microbubbles from skimmer

  • wow

  • I must say, the classical music by Hortus Musicus adds to the amazingness of this sump, indeed.

    NOT!

  • This is a simply beautiful DIY sump, most videos you see end up being only buckets. This is truly something worthy of praise.

  • This my friend, is a work of art.

  • you using that for fish, or drinking water? I can't tell :P

  • Ive added a link to some additional information in the description...

  • @Demantius Nice custom work, although I have some questions that your website really couldn't answer for me.

I'm a little confused as to how water gets into and out of the osmos/overflow section, and also why it appears there is water in the cooling chamber in the video when you say it isn't used for anything.

Also, does the water-change section have a drain valve as well? Or do you have to pump out the water for partial water changes manually?

  • there's some good ideas on that sump... I can only imagine what the main tank looks like.

  • no tank just a rubbermade filled with water haha. in this case, the sump id the attraction

  • That is one beautiful sump! Very clean. I also like your use of the black silicone. Oh, and thank you for not putting "and the bodies hit the floor" as the background music. That song blows anyway.

  • Thanx for makin me feel like a complete dumbass....love the concept but I couldnt build nor operate that thing without a manual lmao

  • i dont get it wat is it sopposed to do

  • heres where I get lost ---> 0:03

    Nice tho.

  • Beautiful!

  • lots of time on your hand? haha cool sump!

  • whoa

  • did you dream this????this is like youre gonna filter fuckin drinking water.

  • wow that is a MASSIVE and extremely ELABORATE sump tank!!!!

So, uh, you will be using some kind of filter media right??? Post a vid with all that crap in it and twist peoples minds into deep confusion!!!

  • i dont get it either. prefer to look at naked women if i had to choose.

this video really needs commentary or instructions, but ofcourse that is a secret isnt it??

  • that is freakin impressive

  • The sump is a DIY sump. The title doesn't say how to make a DIY sump.

  • Yeah, but buddy over here doesn't have a clue how to do it himself. I bet he would have liked the OP to show the steps as well :)

  • i dont get it---]

  • dude, nice... very well designed

  • Very nice.

  • It's beautiful! I love the 'water change while running' feature!

  • Nice build. Nice design. Nice execution. The best I have seen so far..

    todd

  • I don't know...based on the music and effort, someone needs a girlfriend.

  • lol, quality

  • that is pretty spectacular. I really like the top off chamber also being used for flowback. A very safe and cool looking precaution

  • huh??

  • Hey Really the best design I've ever seen!!!

...But did't really get the top off water chamber... Do you really need to waste all that space?? ..and if this is also a wet-dry were do you intend to keep your bio-media so that they don't submerge???

  • Very nice

  • Is there any rule to how many chambers you need on a sump? I have a 12'33"33" what size sump would i need or would it be easier to just use 3 FX5's?

  • You can have as little as one chamber but it can be useful to have separated chambers for each function as I have.

  • Oh right so what would be the main things i would need like sponges, carbon things, bio balls....?

  • that would be in a filter a sump would include things like a Fuge, Skimmer box, DSB maybe, ugly equipment, its not just a big filter in the sense you think, its a multipurpose tank sorta kinda. i hope that made some sense

  • nice, build me one now please

  • impresive

  • wow very nice!

  • that is amazing!

  • Hi, I am sure it works ....but how???.......Very complicated, please advise.

  • so complicated..

    anyway, nice video and aquarium.

  • any link to any webpage to your design because i don't know how your design works

  • wow thats re dicolus

  • Brilliant design :)
