@SerzantasLTU Yup. It launched with two sizes. If you search for "GTX 460" on our website, you'll see the two articles that give you the performance breakdown of the two cards.
@SerzantasLTU The 768MB versions are a fantastic value right now. Especially with all the sales and price drops. Running two of them should guarantee every game will have playable frame rates which is the important part. It will be a lot cheaper than a single GTX 480. Do keep in mind PSU requirements with the additional card though.
@Futurelooksdotcom i know thats what i wanted to do , but i couldnt sell my old 5770 so i bought one of them , i bought msi hawk 1gb so it will be much better and in future in sli will be top class.
Should I buy the Msi Radeon Hd 6850 which cost $230 or the Inno3d 460 gtx which cost $211.Btw these are the only 2 cards i can buy locally so the prices are fixed and i cant buy anything else.I also can't buy online. So which is a better buy?
@Lubotsulat See the updated review link in the video details. It includes results from the HD 6850 vs both the 768MB and 1GB GTX 460's both stock and overclocked. Make your decision based on the games that you play. The HD 6850 does well in some games, but not others against the GTX 460.
I got my Cyclone through the post today, same as the one you have in your video. Mine came in a anti-static bag for the card and a warranty sticker on the front (in Japanese -.-) though, but no shrinkwrap over the box of the card. I guess that's thanks to sloppy handling at the factory from MSI...
@Jazzditti Have not heard of a 2GB version. That doesn't mean that someone won't do one, but probably not on the GTX 460 since its whole purpose was to give mainstream gamers a great value option that performed exceptionally for the price.
On e more question where can I find that nvidia 460 vs hd5770 vs hd5830 review? It's up on Futurelooksdotcom? Because I didn't find it. Thanks. Again sorry for that little misunderstanding before.
@Sorry100000 GF104 is actually two SKUs on the GTX 460s with some distinct differences. It's not just a difference in memory amount which would be easy to remember. Sorry we don't measure up to your standards. Hopefully we can improve by watching how you do your videos.

tnx bro..and the 1gb version is better then the 768 mb or not that much?i saw revieuws they said not..but it is just 20-30 euros more for that 1gb:P
@GILERARUNNERRST1 eVGA makes some nice hardware. If you can get a good price, go on and get one. Their warranty and trade up program are worth looking into as well. As for 1GB vs the 768MB, it's just a matter of dollars, but the 1GB one does have more memory bandwidth which some games may take advantage of so if you are looking for gains in a particular game, you may want to find out if this is a benefit in benchmarks.
I just got this too replace my xfx ati 5770. Screw ATI the drivers were all buggy and benchmarks sucked. Im so glad Igot this and amgoing back too nvidia. After all NASA uses Nvidia...
@logic53 While the GTX 460 is a fantastic GPU, it is in a completely different and higher price point so it must be convincingly better than the HD 5770 by a respectable margin. HD 5830 would be a more fair comparison.
Drivers have their hit and misses on both sides but nVidia ones do seem to be more solid most of the time. They are also less complicated to install and remove overall.
@TheWoWRevelation A quality 650W PSU with an 80PLUS rating should be able to handle that load. But if you plan to SLI or add a large number of hard drives, etc, then you might want to bump that up to a 750W or higher to be safe. It really depends on the load, but the official recommendation is 650W for the GTX 460.
@TheXtraGuy Read the review link posted in the video description. It directly compares HD 5830 and HD 5770 against GTX 460. Sorry if that wasn't made completely clear.
@TheXtraGuy I def think that the GTX 460 is better than the 5830. If you look at benchmarks, its actually comparable to the 5850! and if you arn't too bothered about spending a little more Watts, then its def the card to buy as you get PhysX ect.
Note: This is my opinion so I dont wanna hear fanboys bite my head off.
@shartep If you need DirectX 11 support then the GTX 460 should be your pick of the two for sure. If you're just playing older games the HD 4890 should be pretty cheap now and still has some good kick. Probably best if you consider what games you want to play and go from there.
@points2shopPROOF Overall, definitely. But do remember, GTX 460 is not in the same price point. See the review link in the video details for benchmarks.
@DukeLuke1020 All three brands make good cards. They will all perform the same at the same clock speeds. Consider bundle, extras, cooling solution and price. If the extras don't matter, and you just want a card to game with solidly, then buy the least expensive card from either of the three makers. If you need to overclock, then look at components that support that like a better stock cooling solution and better components (MSI = Military Class/GBT = Ultra Durable).
Please write me the dimensions! I want to buy it, but I don't know this card can be have enough space in my PC. And the last question, on how much temperature is this card running, after one hour? Thanks :-)
@Sn00z3y It's about 8.5 inches long which is fairly short. That means it should fit in ANY case unless it's a very narrow case since the heatsink assembly sticks out about an inch from the top.
See the review posted in the video description to get your other questions answered.
@Ydoc101lol Thanks for your constructive criticism. We'll do our best to address it. Hopefully we can learn something from the videos that you post as well.
@Futurelooksdotcom Yeah, I have no videos. I suppose I could have said that better. Regardless of the amount of times he says "Uh".. it's still informative. Sorry for coming off like a dick.
@4esterssss So far in extended testing we find it to be a great performer. We'll have some additional tests and our final thoughts on this particular GTX 460 768MB next week on our main site as a written review.
@benny332 Link to the review is in the video description. Just pick the right card for the games you play. The GTX 460 is great, but it doesn't ALWAYS come up on top but it is up there a lot.
@mike82y No SLI this round. If GTX 460 SLI really is faster though, I would find out what benchmarks were used. I find all the time that some cards perform better than others in some tests. For example, I'm finding DX9 and OGL benches showing the GTX 460 to be slower than the HD 5830 on many occasions with some being dramatically in favour of the GTX 460. Simply a matter of picking the right tool for the job.
@comc39 It's dual slot and I think it is a bit shorter than the 9600GT if I remember right. It's actually the same size as an HD 5770, but requires two 6 pin power connectors. Still working on the benchmarks and what we're seeing so far is performance right on par and in some cases better than other $200 cards like the HD 5830. Anyway, back to work on benching...
@Nvidbeast Depends on the games you have or will have. Even though DX11 might not be important to you now, new titles will be launching soon that make use of it. Those games look sweet on the GXT 460. But, the GTX 460 also does DX10 much better than the GTX 260, especially at higher 1080p resolutions. If you have a smaller monitor, you'll just end up with very fluid graphics and lots of details the GTX 260 can't hope to produce.
@OrganicStuff1 Our personal experience here has been that most of the shrouded reference type coolers are hotter than the open cards in general. But maybe someone else can chime in with some specific experiences. Going to get back to benchmarking :)
Okay thanks so much! You're very helpful (only if there were more people on YouTube like you :))
Well, I was wondering what would you think the maximum overclocked settings for this would be? If you don't know that's fine I wouldn't expect you to. That's all thanks again.
@daharvster well thank u very much for ur positive thinking and good words and respect for me.i wish the same thing that pple like should come on utube and there r very few pple visit utube who praise other for thier good work.so ur question about overclocking the palit gtx460 sonic platinum edition so let me tell u its already highly overclocked to 800 mhz on the core so still u can crank it to 850 mhz and that no bad and its quite easy if u it with care u might wana have a good psu for that.
I was looking at the GTX 460 1GB and GTX 465 1GB. The 460 seemed to be slighty better (benchmarks results). The 460 is also cheaper so with the money I save i'll be able to get the Intel i7. Which one should I get?
@daharvster the palit sonic platinum edition is far better product in gtx 460 line around 245$ at newegg. matching the performance level of gtx 470 and 5850 go and get it at newegg.
@daharvster yes i will definitely match the performance of the gtx 470 and 5850 with ease even it is more better than these two card in some games so i wuld be a great choice for gaming at 1920x1080 resolution even with great level of anti-aliasing so if u need more info i can give u all necessary info about the card.thanx
@sam90495 That's mostly true these days. The last time an SLI bridge came with a video card was when the 6600GT came out. I just did an unboxing for some ATI cards so I was probably thinking CrossFire bridge. My bad.
@TheTact1cal I didn't see one in the box. I didn't get a manual either though. I did mention that the box was opened by MSI for further inspection. I'm assuming that someone forgot to put it back in. You're right though. They typically come with one. Will check with MSI to confirm.
the palit gtx 460 sonic platinum is 1gb version and its factory overclocked and very awesome card even matching the performance of gtx 470 and easily beating 5850 in most cases.visit techspot for the true review u will be shocked and amazed to see the performance in techspot.com they have done a good job with all great games.
@Futurelooksdotcom Ok! thank u for ur response i was not meant to perverse people. ur unboxing video is good i love it.but it wuld be awesome if u wuld show us the performance of the gtx 460,s in sli and all major gaming benchmarks thats all we want to see thank u very much in advance.sli is the thing that concerns us the most.
@sam90495 The GTX 460 was built for a gamer looking to spend $200 that wants playable frame rates, based on nVidia's own research. While SLI capable, it wasn't their focus for this product. So we'll be sticking with single cards all in the same price point or less. It'll be HD 5770 OC vs HD 5830 vs GTX 460 768MB (stock and OC). We'll show performance right across the board from DX9 - DX11 and the effect of AA vs No AA. We will be looking for PLAYABLE frame rates at 1920x1080 specifically.
@sam90495 And sorry if I sound snappy. Haven't had sleep for many many hours. Our sample got here a week later than everyone elses so we've had to cram a weeks work into two days. Appreciate all your comments and how you try to help everyone. That's the spirit that we want to cultivate :)
@Futurelooksdotcom Oh thats sweet thank u very much sir.thank u very much for u approbation for me and thats the thing i like that i feel like i ought to abet everyone who has needed some sort of hardware for his gaming exhilaration.so i like to abet other people thats all i like and only for other people,s sake i spend hours and hours on the internet to help people find what they need i m 20 years old guy i m student and also a pro gamer.so i have vast knowledge about old and upcoming hardware.
@Futurelooksdotcom and its pleasure to have an expeditious response from u sir btw sir may i have ur sweet appellation please.might sound exotic.well now i ve become a fan of ur gonna subscribe ya i was never praised like that.u have given alot of motivation so i will make it alot better thank u very much for all that we r good friends now.

Okay thanks so much! You're very helpful (only if there were more people on YouTube like you :))
Well, I was wondering what would you think the maximum overclocked settings for this would be? If you don't know that's fine I wouldn't expect you to. That's all thanks again.

@daharvster well thank u very much for ur positive thinking and good words and respect for me.i wish the same thing that pple like should come on utube and there r very few pple visit utube who praise other for thier good work.so ur question about overclocking the palit gtx460 sonic platinum edition so let me tell u its already highly overclocked to 800 mhz on the core so still u can crank it to 850 mhz and that no bad and its quite easy if u it with care u might wana have a good psu for that.

lol msi finally realized that, in their previous models, installing the card would make the letters upsidedown.
MmmCouchPotato 1 year ago
this beast can overclock well beyond 800 mhz.
i can't wait to get my mits on this thing.

Hey,
I was looking at the GTX 460 1GB and GTX 465 1GB.

- Graphics Clock: 800 MHz
- Processor/Shader Clock: 1600 MHz
- Memory Clock: 4000 MHz
- Memory Size: 1024MB GDDR5
- Memory Bus: 256-bits

@daharvster yes i will definitely match the performance of the gtx 470 and 5850 with ease even it is more better than these two card in some games so i wuld be a great choice for gaming at 1920x1080 resolution even with great level of anti-aliasing so if u need more info i can give u all necessary info about the card.thanx

@TheTact1cal a video never has sli bridge u fool.
sam90495 1 year ago
@sam90495 That's mostly true these days. The last time an SLI bridge came with a video card was when the 6600GT came out. I just did an unboxing for some ATI cards so I was probably thinking CrossFire bridge. My bad.
Futurelooksdotcom 1 year ago
@TheTact1cal I didn't see one in the box. I didn't get a manual either though. I did mention that the box was opened by MSI for further inspection. I'm assuming that someone forgot to put it back in. You're right though. They typically come with one. Will check with MSI to confirm.

@Futurelooksdotcom SLI bridges come with your motherboard. Only ATi cards have the multi-GPU bridge packaged with the card, not the motherboard.

the palit gtx 460 sonic platinum is 1gb version and its factory overclocked and very awesome card even matching the performance of gtx 470 and easily beating 5850 in most cases.visit techspot for the true review u will be shocked and amazed to see the performance in techspot.com they have done a good job with all great games.

@sam90495 The "True Review" is coming. This is the "Unboxing Video".
Futurelooksdotcom 1 year ago
@Futurelooksdotcom Ok! thank u for ur response i was not meant to perverse people. ur unboxing video is good i love it.but it wuld be awesome if u wuld show us the performance of the gtx 460,s in sli and all major gaming benchmarks thats all we want to see thank u very much in advance.sli is the thing that concerns us the most.
sam90495 1 year ago
@sam90495 The GTX 460 was built for a gamer looking to spend $200 that wants playable frame rates, based on nVidia's own research. While SLI capable, it wasn't their focus for this product. So we'll be sticking with single cards all in the same price point or less. It'll be HD 5770 OC vs HD 5830 vs GTX 460 768MB (stock and OC). We'll show performance right across the board from DX9 - DX11 and the effect of AA vs No AA. We will be looking for PLAYABLE frame rates at 1920x1080 specifically.
