They will not go after the small fry.They WILL make examples out of people though in order to try and slow/stop any form of piracy. I highly doubt you'd get into trouble for faving/adding stuff to youtube playlists. They would probably just shut down the site, or block and remove said videos. Keep in mind MILLIONS have used MegeUpload- they can't take every last one who has ever used the site. It would start to cost them.

This didn't happen over night. The FBI and the NZ Government have been working on this case for some time now, not just because sharing copyrighted material you don't own is illegal according to international copyright laws but also on behalf of the owners of the material.The finally had enough evidence to shut down the site and arrest the owner. They went about this the right way and built up the case. They didn't overnight rush in and shut down the site.

In your meth comparison it's more like arresting the person on the street corner who tells passer bys, "Hay there is a meth house down the street if your interested." The civil penalty of $150,000 per infringed work will apply, but unless you ripped at at least $2,500 in a 6 month period, and did at least 10 times in 6 months, you wont be extradited.

If people link to a site with certain anchor text for example "pirated book downloads" and someone searches "pirated book downloads" google can choose the site title to make it more relevant, google doesn't always use the actual title of the page the site itself put in, so the same page can show with multiple different titles.
