My sources have the singer as Austin Egen and was recorded on 15th April 1930, matrix - BLR 6268-2.

Certainly not Al Bowlly --- at the end of 1929 he was in the Fred Elizalde's band and around March/April he was in London in the recording studios with Jay Wilbur and a Len Fillis group...

Oskar Joost auf Electrola! Ich habe gar nicht gewusst, daß er auch für Electrola Aufnahmen gemacht hat.

Ich finde diesen Titel leider immer nur, stark abgenutzt, auf Homocord von Fred Bird gespielt mit Gesang von Luigi Bernauer.

Oskar Joost nahm nur wenige Titel für die Marke Electrola auf, darunter viele Tangos. Die Rückseite der Platte 1890 ist Mickey Mause mit Gesang Ausin Egen. Die Platte von Fred Bird kenne ich wiederum nicht.

I've been searching for it so long time, since we play the arrangement which was definitely made after this one (one of those few we did not transcribed ourselves from original records, but got it from our friends from Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra). Now we finally have the original source! Many thanks! Yours Bratislava Hot Serenaders. P.S.: I also have a feeling that it could be Al, but I would say 50%...
