  • I couldn't careless WTF people want to eat just as long as it's done with conservation of the species in mind (seen guys hunt turtles for the fun of it and leave them on the rocks to die....not even eating them....what a waste!) and it's done HUMANELY.....also see pricks chop up turtles while their alive coz apparently 'the meat taste better' to those stupid C***s.

  • White people saying outboard tinnies is not the "traditional way."

But I dont see white people riding horses to work the "traditional way"

  • @islandwarrior16 thats because we invented cars and outboards, they've been our ''traditional'' vehicles for over 100 years, not that I'm saying cars are good I think the're shit, I'd prefer a horse TBH

  • aboriginals used to have power boats?

  • those ass hole do not have those boats back then so they hunted less often dudong

  • i fucking love dugong! its the best tasting animal under the sun!! kill them all i say...

  • I'll tell you guys what gets me, I can respect it's what their people have been doing for millions of years so i can respect that they continue hunting dugongs, however they should'nt be allowed to hunt in processed boats not made by their people. Its a contradicted to what they're saying.....hypocrites.

  • @dot2dot67 Balls. Their principals are still the same which is to kill only what they require to eat and no more. Using small aluminum powerboats allows them to find their food faster and then have more time for other life pursuits. Having a power boat does not mean these aboriginals are going to kill more dugong.

  • @HeavySabre70 i never said anything about them hunting more dugongs, i'm mearly stating that if they are allowed to hunt per tradition of their 'old' ways and that this brings them great 'pride' by attacking defenceless animals then they should hunt per the 'old' ways... without power boats....btw if they only hunted that which they required to survive there would be 0 dugongs killed each year.its probably that they've lost the old ways and are not skilled enough to hunt without white man tools

  • What a complete load of bollocks this is. Where is the capacity label on the Tinnie and which one has a marine license. Reverse discrimination if there ever was. They are just taking the piss and having a right laugh.

  • I am curious as to where they got the engines from for traditional hunting before the western world invaded. So explain to me how an engine on a boat is part of the traditional hunting methods. I thought the argument for a seperate set of laws for aboriginal peoplke for this activity was based upon using traditional hunting methods. Obviously I misread the law or am unaware that they always used motors on their boats. silly me.

  • @Eonrads50 Did you see them using rifles or spear guns to hunt the dugong? No. They use spears made from wood and this is what can be classified as traditional. They use small boats and wooden spears. Not big fishing trawlers and huge nets. You are just trying to find faults and things to pick on.

  • Good to see tradition continues. Maybe they will live past industrial collapse.

  • at 1:22 he smoking and and thinking about a VB

  • And yet the white man is blamed for their lack of numbers. FFS!

  • @TheNakedWombat Please read my older post

There have been more extinctions and damages on Australian flora & fauna for the last 200 years compared to what the original Aussies have done in the span of 40,000 yrs prior captain crook's arival.

  • @islandwarrior16 True yet that is no argument to drive the Dugong out of existence.

  • I didnt provide any argument that suggest wiping dugong populations out of existence.

You said "yet the white man is blamed for their lack of numbers"

And I agreed if you take into account the environmental impacts of trawling, dredging, land-reclamation, boat propeller scarring, sewage etc.

  • @islandwarrior16 Tell you what I'm against, this apartheid you put up. It's okay for me to do this coz I'm black. Nice way to bring in racism, mate. Sheesh!

  • pitiful levels of racism typically proliferating on the internet due to the idol lives that idiots live. i'm against hunting dugongs and sea turtles, but thats because the whole ecosystem is now in utter disarray. if we have any hope of getting into any balance with the environment we rely on for life it may be from learning something from whats left of the world's indigenous cultures.

  • Filthy nigs doing what they always have done. Hunt and gather. In the 21st century. Fucking missing links.

  • @mitchellsee69 yeahh and

  • I'm all for tradition, I think they should have the right to hunt traditional quarry. However it should be done the traditional way. Not with a tinnie and outboard motor, tracking equipment etc.

  • @1607Mitch exactly

  • Check this video out -- Dugongs and Turtles debate, Queensland

  • mitchellsee69 please, get your narrow-minded head out of your racist arse and dont comeback till you're educated enough to have a worthy argument that doesn't lack credibility.

  • @islandwarrior16 Well said my friend!! TY

  • @mitchellsee69 so when are you going to take your white trash ass back to britian? Oh thats right , they dont want you due to the fact that you descend from filthy criminals lmao

  • @mitchellsee69 fuck you u racist cunt

  • @mitchellsee69 your a cunt

  • @mitchellsee69 Excuse me sir, They are Human beings just like you and I? what's with the race discrimination? that just indicates to people who are reading your comment of how hateful you really are. People like you don't deserve internet access if you will be saying such filth.

  • they wiped out the megafauna 46K years ago and they will do it again to these species.

  • @leprechaunsloan There have been more extinctions and damages on Australian flora & fauna for the last 200 years compared to what the original Aussies have done in the span of 40,000 yrs prior captain crook's arival.

  • @islandwarrior16

Europeans have wiped out 54 species of mammal, bird and amphibian since the arrival in 1788.

To date, 48 species of megafauna have been uncovered, with new species discovered every year. Their extinction coincided with the arrival of the Aboriginals and THEIR introduction of their domesticated companion and hunting dogs (Dingoes) , with many leading scientists attributing their extinction to Indigenous over hunting.

  • @anaustralianandproud Australian fauna: Their regressive numbers coincided with the arrival of the Europeans and THEIR introduction of their domesticated companions dogs, cats.. rabbits and the introduction of foxes, with many leading ecologists attributing their extinction to European over farming.

  • @nayungagarr

read a book for once mate.

megafauna died out WELL before any european arrived here... in case you don't know what the megafauna are- giant kangaroos, marsupial lion, and dozens more species.

It has been proven that aboriginals introduced companion dogs (Dingoes) at the time they arrived in aus.

  • @leprechaunsloan Why are you caring about prehistoric mammals? are you a Neanderthal man?

Why don't you talk about wolly mammoth, woolly rhinoceros, smilodon, cave lions, cave bears, aurochs...?

If you believe everything scientists say they also say that dingoes arrived 10,000 years ago

Are you @anaustralianandproud? lol sorry if they deleted your first account

  • @leprechaunsloan bullshit cunt.

dont know what your on about. shut your fucking mouth cunt before i come and shut it up with my size 13

  • @gumby131

um, yes i do actually, but good work stooping to idle threats and obscenities you keyboard warrior.

  • build a Mcdonalds there. People fed and animals saved.... simple!

  • Co-exist?! what a load of crap. Dugong are severely endangered and any hunting at all will do damage. Also no indigenous group anywhere in Australia can use necessity as an excuse to hunt dugong or turtle. The research has already been done - even you will be able to search for it.

  • So aboriginal people have the right to decide to make these animals extinct? Why should you have any more rights than me, based purely on the colour of your skin?

  • @hammertime4870 If white people have authority to interfere and strip away Aborigines freedom to hunt...that makes them eligible to strip away Aborigines from their land and abuse many other cultural protocols. And its not like Aboriginals want them to go extinct because its their food source.

  • @islandwarrior16 then why do indigenous people continue to hunt green turtle and dugong? They are rare and will be extinct if the hunting continues.

  • Depends which indigenous group and region you're looking at. From what I know of, some regions, indigenous hunting are able to co-exist with the marine life.

While other areas, particulary near major infastracture, human population, pollution (e.g. Cairns, Townsville, Stradbroke Island etc) there's enough stress already. If you kill a few dugongs at south-east QLD, the population is stuffed.

But the same cannot be said about other regions.

  • yes co-exist like the past 40,000 yrs. You got to understand that turtle & dugong numbers are poorly research in lots of parts in northern Australia. You come up to Torres Strait during the turtle mating season and there are heaps of them! i've seen it with my own eyes...you will see them resting on the sandbanks and reefs before the tide comes up. Turtle and dugongs seem to have a healthy population up there and im guessing its because of a geographical advantage.

  • @hammertime4870 don't worry too much, the Aborigines know what they're doing. They've lived there for tens of thousands of years, and they know how to manage their resources wisely. Wish I could say the same for all other peoples.... Really, it's the people from the rest of the world, especially those of us from the so-called 'developed world', that need to change our ways -- not the Aborigines!

  • @mmchelma These men may have descended from the "Aborigines", but, they are not the people who were custodians of the land for thousands of years. Just look at them, just look at their equipment and dress. They have nothing of the aboriginal way, nothing at all. They can no more be depended on to ensure the future of other species than any other humans. They would sell those eggs for a pint of alcohol, a loaf of white bread, a gallon of gasoline, or a pack of cigarettes.

  • They may have different "equipment and dress" but the 40,000 year old tradition and concept of traditional hunting for food is still there.

"They would sell those eggs for a pint of alcohol, a loaf of white bread, a gallon of gasoline, or a pack of cigarettes." that is something i expect said by someone who is prejudice, ignorant and lacks knowledge of Aboriginal culture. I suggest you to meet the coastal communities of Arnhem Land and see for yourself how much they are connected the old ways

  • @howtogetwell mate ur a fuck head..... its using tradional ways using modern equipment..... wake up 2 urself bud

  • Correct. Different era, different equipment etc but same principles. I dont see white people riding a horse to work the traditional way.

  • @islandwarrior16 All unemployed australians get 424 dollars a fortnight free there is no need for this slaughter the united nations announced 7th oct 2010 dugongs extinct in just 40 years!

  • @snraic Didnt the United Nations also say that all Australian dams will be empty by 2009, ten years ago?

  • No one should kill endangered animals like green turtle or dugong

  • @hammertime4870 Nothing wrong with protecting animals from extinction. However, I believe it should be up to the indigenous people to decide on the future of these animals.

  • @sn66sean go touch your self and dont jizz while lookin at alborigines

  • just get a fucking job and bye eggs lol

  • ok ty

  • what are these exactly? i dont know very good english

  • they are people hunting an animal call Dugong
