2skilled10 ... I had a terrible 200 plus degree view of the kilmore fire from st.andrews and we were saved by the miracle wind change. That Rolling and the Fire Balls we saw and fire torndoes were caused not in worst hit areas ( strathewen and north st.andrews) by burning leaves as we were taught after Ash Wednesday..My pics where those torndoes happened i realised nearly all trees were burnt to about 10 - 15 feet . All still had leaves as conditions made them release their flammable oils
I remember sitting at my home in NSW, feeling helpless as I was watching the tragic fires unfold...I had the television on 24/7- I kept preying the people and Animal's would get out safely! Such a tragic, tragic Natural Disaster... Rest in Peace and Love you all.
