  • Funky-fresh "Level 42" .-)

  • this is better than shep pettibone's mix. i think a lot of dj's got carried away with the sampling technology... some extended mixes from the 80s don't hold up very well :)

  • best version this i think.

  • WTF HAPPENED TO THE OTHER VERSION WAHHHHHH there was a really good version on youtube its GONE! IM HEARTBROKEN! Club mix maybe I dunno but it was extended too! it was a record spinning in the video.

  • @funkyspice

Agreed. WTF. I loved that video. It was simply the best ever. Although this version does come close....

  • i like this remix it reminds me back in 1986 every sturday me and my buddy will go to club image and they played that remix and we danced with it.

  • 5:02 Epic Part !!

  • i use to fool my friends with the scratching part of the song as i played it on my turntable and made out i was doing it great song great band

  • still think i've got this @ me dad's!!

  • there are so many mixes of this track. is there an actual club mix based on the original track without all the extra added bumps in the track. im a dj and love the track

  • I used to DJ in a nightclub in the 80's and this is the mix i used to play. Bought by accident i was after the club mix. In hindsight this was better. I close my eyes and i see it cosmos balls, harvesters, strobes, pin spots, neons, white high heels, handbags on the floor, people with smiles on their faces and a girl i used to have a crush on. There was something about her!! Good days, good times. Thanks Mark King and Level 42. Happy days.

  • I've been a Level 42 fan since 1985 and I've never heard this mix before! Cool!!!!

But I think they used some of this for the hit combination in their remix album.

  • I've been a Level 42 fan since 1985 and I've never heard this mix before! Cool!!!!

  • good version!

  • GREAT SONG!

  • love at first bass riff intro!!

  • Brilliant mix!!!

  • Yeah!!

This was the first extended version i heard of Something about you....

    All right!!

  • I think I'm having a heart attack - Mark King's regal slap bass skills are killing me. To death!

  • The lyrics between 5:41 and 6:17 are fantastic, they should've been added on the song's original World Machine album version, it could've worked well and given the song extra credit. Who agrees?

  • oh YEAH ! THX

  • OH shep pettibone

  • Ahhhhh fantastic.... what a 12" ....

    Thanks for posting...

  • Amazing song... Every band has a song or two that really comes together right. Something About You is a Level 42 "signature sound". No other band sounds like this- This song NEVER gets old to me...

  • I completely agree. I remember when this song came out in late 1985. It was my favorite song for a very long time.

  • This is a great version, is this the original 12" single?

  • saw them in ipswich , suffolk last year still wonderful stuff to dance and listen to

  • 1985-1986

  • @flossterini999 Don't know where your from but a "nugget" here is known as a "piece of shit" and this song is far from shit..

  • @drewyt86 Interesting..but here in the US a 'nugget' is a good thing its a reference to the gold mining of the Old West., nugget=gold.
