OMG!!! Thank you soooo much!!! I have an apple so the places where things were, were a bit different but you definitely helped!!! I'm doing a project for school and the computers at my school only work with mp3 formats so I was going to be so bummed! So thank you so much!
Thanks for the tutorial! Might want to look in to getting checked out for schizophrenia though. You can't possibly think that audio was appropriate can you? I would have rather gotten Rick rolled.
AAC/M4A is CD top quality, converting to MP3 causes the song to lose quality but raise memory usage. Please stop converting to MP3, it ruins your music.
Even thought its compressed to compressed, the quality is pretty good, just be sure to set to 320 in the quality settings (click custom... and you can choose 320)
My husband an I were in Brazil for a week, my family leave there. The day we were packing to fly back to US, I recorded from my Ipod the sound of the early morning, so I could listen as many time as I wanted and would make me remember the good time we spent there, unfortunately I tried to make a video with some of the pictures we got from there, but the program did not recognize the AAC Itunes file. I really do appreciated .... Thanks a lot.
@mrharocesar I couldn't either cause I have a different version so instead go on 'edit' then 'preferences' then 'general' then 'import settings' and change the settings and then press ok, right click on the song and click create mp3 or what ever format you chose, that worked for me! :D
Many users are looking for MP4 to MP3 converter mp4 to them. file extension. This is due to conversion of MP3 MP4 audio files to help them extract them to a more portable format.
this worked for me---thanks a bunch! In my older version of iTunes you could just go to the toolbar and "Create an Mp3 version" was already there and it was easy. Thanks for making it easy again!
Hey thanks man! The output isn't protected either! I'm going to do this with some of the songs I bought in iTunes. I'll use them in Windows Movie Maker!
@Facelessreviews24 For windows click "edit>Preferences" In Preferences up top it will have "General" go down to where it has "When you insert a CD" on the other side of that it will have "Import Settings", click on it and set it up how you like it. Then after that it's the same as the video.
Oh my god I am so excited. Earlier I went into wmp and had it scan for all music in my computer and will automatically add any on my computer into wmp, once I went to advance and changed settings to mp3, I highlighted multiple songs and albums and right clicked and clicked on change to mp3, then when I go into my wmp i can see them being added one at a time. I am going to be able to put all of them into my wmp without any fuss or effort, thank you, thank you, thank you,

see i have a phone i wanted to do this for, but i also have an ipod. by doing this will it affect listening to music on my ipod and does it copy the music from itunes and format it on a MP3 encoder on your computer's files. and if not can i change it back to AAC
@Sinnawai i got the droid 2 and one of the first things i did when i got home was syncing my itunes playlist onto my phone. well that turned out to be a pain in the ass for about a week till i finally just gave up and re-downloaded the songs off of limewire ina .mp3 format. so anyways, i just tested this and it creates a second copy of your music file in the same album folder as your original but in the .mp3 format. so it should work on you phone and not affect your ipod.sry reply L8 tho..
on the older itunes you go to edit > preferances > general tab > import settings. then change that to mp3 encoder so when you right click on a song you can make a mp3 copy of the song.
which version of itunes is this on? i have the latetest 9.2 and i do not see a convert to aac option anywhere.. under advanced, i dont have an importing tab..
It's just a button called "Import Settings" under the General tab. From there you can change the encoder to MP3 instead of AAC and apply custom settings like bitrate.
This works with iTunes version 7. If you don't have it, you can find it on the website oldapps. Probably works with other versions, but that's what I had installed when I tried this. I know for a fact it doesn't work on the latest version.
on the current version of itunes, there is a one click "create mp3 version" under the advanced tab. The original purchased song remains unchanged and the mp3 is added below it
Hey creator you say that "Probably it says "Convert Selection to AAC", which is useless because your iTunes tracks are already in AAC format!"
Not true... using convert to AAC for me (for a lot of my files) lowers the quality of a song from 256kb/s or over to 128 kb/s ,but honestly it's not a noticeable downgrade in audio quality . But by doing this it effectively halves the memory each song takes up.
My create AAC version is missing when I right click. I went to edit, preferences and import settings. It's already set to AAC yet when I right click it no longer shows up in the list like it used to. My iTunes is up to date. What do I do?
@ArianShok I think I know what to do now. Highlight the song you want to convert, go to advanced and there should be a "Create AAC version" option. I don't know why it no longer shows up in right click, but whatever.
Hey man i just found out how to do it i remember on tha old one all u did was right click and u would see convert to mp3 now u gotta go and left click tha song one time then on top were it says file edit store all dat shit go to advance and u will see convert to mp3 i hope dat helped u out
@Razkal956 thanks, that was bothering the hell out of me lol. :) For a minute I thought Apple removed that feature, but thankfully they didn't.. just made it less accessible!
I had an ipod but it busted and im now left with my library. Im getting a zune hd in a couple of days, is there anyway for my itunes to get on my zune. Is it possible ?
You are a Godsend! Now I can use my Windows Media Player, don't have to download Rhapsody, and I can get a cheaper mp3 player instead of buying another iPod. Thank you so much for showing this! AWESOME!!!
Hey, this looks really good, but what version of iTunes are you using? I dont have the importing tab when I go to edit/preferences and its not in advanced either?? Is there another way? I really need to cenvert to mp3 but cant seem to. Thanks, Jodi
You can't do anything because its Protected only unprotected files could be converted.
Well there is a way but you'll need iTunes of course a blank CD and Windows Media Player.
If you still want to know how because I don't know if you already did it just send me a message and ill send you the video that shows you how to do it.
Man... I tried and it and once again, it says that it can't do that to protected formats which are on all of the songs worth changing so u SUCK cause everyone already knows how to do that!!!!
um yea theres no preferences option to do that anymore in that section.. i dont know why, i used to do it too and looked it up on this video to remember how.. but yea.. not there anymore
the "importing" sub tab u click at 10 seconds into the video doesnt pop up on my itunes. anyhelp would be great because im trying to make an MP3 cd. thanks.
dude thanks man this helped me out alot! and thanks to you i dont have to smash my computer! cuz i was gettin made that i spent $10 on something i could even use lol
ok if you give me and everybody else the song that commented i promise to subscribe you and spread this video around to all my friends and hopefully they will to! deal!

you go to edit>prefrences>general and if you look down at import there should be a button called import settings, click it and u good.
