  • played this as the finale for all-state band...SO good!

  • we are playing this in band and i realized with this song i need a softer reed.

  • TROMBONESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • As a percussionist, this was the first song I had ever had to read that had multiple lines for different instruments. Successfully mindraped, and I became much better at sightreading afterwards. I LOVE this piece :D

  • I play this in band class!

  • Woodblocks!!!

  • AHHH! FRENCH HORNS OF DOOM/AWESOMENESS!

  • I love this peace, really fun to play and actually has a written alto clarinet part in it.

  • Triangle REPRESENT!!!!!!

  • I fell asleep during the third variation. Why does this have to be a homework assignment :O

  • So hard for trumpet at Vivace!

  • @SamusCeltyHawkeye88 Seeing as we are currently playing this for band -- not really! We only have three valves to worry about. Talk to the flutes or saxophones!

  • @HunterOrHunted95 Hah I realize this now! My middle valve was getting just a leeeettle bit stuck. Just a little. And i barely realized this when we got the rare, sacred item that is......................valve oil. lol

  • Band memories 3

  • just sigthread this song today in band...boy do i love this piece. we're playing it for our spring concert after contest in march :)

  • @tracer52 Its a high Eb im looking at my music.

  • i was in sou honor band as a flute!!!

  • High E!! Fun!! (clarinet)

  • @TeamChesnutRice it actually has a high Ab (altissimo)

  • Made me happy that my bands playing this since I'm obsessed with Korea! ^^ Woohoo!

  • My band's experiance with this piece, was, less than pleasent, but still got us superior ratings

  • Korean (and clarinet) Pride! :D

  • 4:20 is my favorite part of any song ever right now...

  • SOU honor band played this song this year... IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

  • @warlockalice1331 Alright! Someone else from SOU honor band!

  • @yeonjays im in 8th grade and my shools wind ensemble is playing this song, the 1st trombone part rocks!!!

  • Is this the North Texas Wind Symphony?

  • All the percussion parts are AWESOME!!!! :)

  • Try playing this with 18 trumpets and only 2 french horns

  • @rainingowls you too?

  • Who doesn't try this is in one?

  • Who doesn't try this is in one?

  • Who doesn't try this is in one?

  • sigh.....my high school band is playing it and it is so confusing.........after playing it a few thousand times......i still don't really like it all that much......

  • Playing this on Monday for band! So excited! :D

  • wow i didnt know the Vivace was supposed to be that fast

  • To be honest, the tone for the oboe is on the thin side. A slightly fuller tone would really make the oboe shine more. A fuller tone would also grant the oboe a more Asian influence.

  • very hard song to play we play it in band but beautiful part towards the end when they are in 3/2 if any one who has seen the actual piece of music

  • @jmdeletetsky02 You mean at Sostenuto, right?

  • Euphonium at 4:14 is AWESOME.

  • @ThePodgoricaTribune represent

  • Friggin hard song. Playing it in band, I'm on alto saxophone. But it's really pretty when we do it good :)

  • @bluepotterkitty I disagree tremendously. I think that whoever played the oboe in this has a beautiful tone.

  • Vibraphones! 30 measures of awesomeness!

  • Playing this in band, some Trumpet 1 licks are insane!

  • my band teacher told our class to listen to this and i love it

  • Really well thought out :) enjoyed this a lot.

  • i play this on saxophone

  • man they're hauling ace on the last variation. so clean though. wonderful performance

  • I believe "KOREANS, YEAH!" Would be the proper response to this video. :D

  • Trumpet here. Love playing this!

  • @asiankid1285: likewise. You gotta love the oboe!!!

  • @bggrthnslicedbrea

I love that the oboe is featured in the piece..... But whoever played this, I don't like their tone. Too thin for my taste.

  • My band is playing this song for UIL and im proud to be a French horn player!

  • Gb to Ab is high F# (left hand)thumb 1,3 (right hand) 3, pinky. then trill (left hand) thumb and 1 :)

  • this makes me proud to b an oboe player

  • @asiankid1285 mee too :)

  • ARIRANG

  • MOB

  • every time i get to 3:52 i get nervous... i failed at that solo... but its so beautiful (when other people play it)... however, for a middle school band, we did amazing.

  • @ebbbakariblues Only after graduating from high school do I realize how much more I should have cherished those solos.

  • @DocsDota Hey doc still doing dota commentaries???

  • @FnaticMsIsbest yeah i'll come back next week. My computer is currently is racist to recording. Hoping to get it fixed by next week.

  • auditioning to five towns university with trumpet solo =)

  • Okay, this is a good song. My band is playing it for our next concert. I play flute and we have to trill from Gb to A (measures 147-149 if you happen to have the flute music) but we can't find that trill anywhere. Does anybody happen to know what the trill is?

  • Flutes :3

  • playing this in wind ensemble, its challenging but doable

  • i love this song so much i have the beginning memorized such an awesome song Clarinets woot <3

  • I believe, "PERCUSSION, YEAH." Would be the proper response to this video.

  • @iNublet Also, CLARINETS, YEAH

  • I can still finger the trumpet solo and most of the rest from memory... ah, 7th grade! I loved playing this!

  • This was the ballad to our marching show a couple years ago ^_^

  • played that slower beginning part at all district last year on clarinet playing the oboe solo this year ^_^

  • @starcutie41532 RYSA! I love this song. It just sucks with the finger crap XD Which is odd for me to say cuz I play trumpet.

  • @TheOnlymebaby MONTANA!! lol i luv you i hate the fast part but if we can pull dis off ill feel like a band god ^__^

  • I played this at all-district band last year on clarinet. One of my favorite pieces ever. :)

  • @xxabc123whateverxx me too? um KMEA?

  • @starcutie41532 Nope, VBODA.

  • I just played this place earlier at the CCU honor band today and it's a awesome piece. It's Challenging but it was also my favorite piece to play out of all our songs.

  • @EvilPeanutNuke Hey I was at that too! I was 3rd Chair Tuba! You?

  • @dragonzproductions I was 8th chair clarinet and the end of the 3rd row. Weren't you sitting in front of me in the audience before we went up stage?

  • @EvilPeanutNuke Sat next to the piano girl before we went on?

  • @EvilPeanutNuke I was the 9th chair clarinet!!

  • Comment removed

  • @usc123savannah Awesome. I remember you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was the guy who sat beside you during rehearsal and the concert! What's up Savannah?

  • My school division made a divisional concert band for grades 9-12 students and this is one of the songs we're playing!! I love it and it's a beautiful piece!! I am a grade 10 flutist and I can definitely say it is challenging but if you work hard it becomes easier and easier!! :)

  • Yeah holding that note for so long during the last part was the biggest problem I had. But I managed to pull through with my clarinet for the trill

  • I feel like people only watch videos like this to tell about how hard it was for them and how they have no help. Shut up. Enjoy this. It's insanely beautiful and just leave it at that.

  • I played this in 9th grd!, Such a cool piece.. But it was really hard for me :/ .. Theres onlyy 1 oboe. Other sections have back up for if they cnt play a part.. I had no choice. .

  • dang played this all the way back in middle school. the beginning of my musical journey

  • I love this song! i played it last year on Piccolo in symphonic band and me and the flutes loved playing the 16th notes in the first variation

  • During the third variation (2:35), open a new tab and launch rainymood. It sounds incredible.

  • started playing this at my wind ensemble today. -us the trumpets, "challenge accepted" LOL

  • This is one of my all time favorite Concert Band Pieces. I played Second Clarinet when my band did it last year. I still play on my own sometimes when I'm bored.

  • i have to play vibes on this. never learned how to read music before.

  • Who in their right mind dislikes a video like this?

  • @Kendrashinex33 The people that dont have the musical skill to play this and are jealous

  • I'm playing this in my high school band, its quite hard!! Especially on first clarinet!

  • I played oboe for this piece and loved it!! It is such a beautiful piece!

  • Played this last year. In two separate ensembles. Love this piece. Last year we played things like this, Ride by Hazo, Holst's second Suite, and El Camino Real. Then our school split and we now have a 10-12th grade band and we're playing we've been working on one really shitty piece all semester. I can't wait for college.

  • We're playing part of this for our marching show this season :)

  • I am dying down here. Piccolo is hard. Well, at least for me. D:

  • @LilyYap1998 the piccolo part for this song is terrifying ( i know i spelled that wrong)

  • Playing it this year, on temple/tenor wood block and the snare. XD we have four drummers only. I'm going to grow some more arms!

  • It's really funny because I love this piece and played mallet percussion on it, but when I mention this piece to my friend, who played oboe on it, all I hear are moans and groans of disgust....rofl!!!

  • This song always ends entirely too soon.

  • We're playing this for our concert in symphonic band, and I play alto sax.

  • wow, i wanna play this for band

  • Trumpets- That is all ;)

  • @TechnoXSexy indeed

  • I had to play this in 7th grade for my school band (we were terrible haha). I just found out today that i'm playing this for my all state band, and I swear there were collective groans and squeals from the others.

  • played this my freshman year to the tempos which are in the song and did a very good job, then played it in Community band and everyone but myself failed at playing the song :(

  • THis is amazing for marching band.

  • @TheMusicdork94 only if u can get ur clarinets to do the runs correctly.

  • My band did this my seventh grade year in Middle School at UIL. We made all ones

  • Also playing this! Such a good song! Trumpettss!!!!!!

  • I played this freshmen and senior year in high school and played the oboe solo senior year. This is one of my all time favorite band pieces.

  • im the first chair oboe in my high school band and im a sophomore. i hate this oboe solo..

  • my band is playing this right now.. well.. trying to

  • @decker2321 Good luck :) Mine is too!

  • @Potatos2121 haha same here :D wat instruments you guys playing on it? :P

  • @IsolatedBullet Well, I'm playing trombone, we've got a contrabass clarinet, an oboe, a few bass clarinets, and the works for the double reeds :) I really love the solo for the oboe! There always seems to be one in these kinds of songs

  • @Potatos2121 haha i'm a euphonium guy myself, but that sounds sweet :P i l love the sound of a good clarinet section, but sadly our highschool band is filled with kids who are to afraid to play loud lol

  • Should the trumpet music for this make me dizzy? So many black dots...

  • Does anyone know who this recording is buy? It's great!

  • Played this piece in band camp this summer. Honestly on the best pieces ive ever played. Tuba part is amazing compared to a lot of other pieces.

  • Comment removed

  • my first year band camp we played this :) such a great piece.

  • Clarinet? Trumpet? Oboe? Piccolo? Tuba? Every instrument has a chance to shine in this piece, and its so beautiful and amazing because they all play all those lines TOGETHER. this Piece is purely amazing. 3 years playing it!

  • I played the piccolo on this piece last spring. It was absolutely amazing! I love that the piccolo has an opportunity to stand out and shine a little bit.

  • @YazPistachio10 Me too! I played piccolo my senior year when we played this song for our festival! It made me very tired though, but very fun!!

  • Love. the oboe part is gorgeous.

  • Way better in choir for this song

  • goodness. i remember playing this last year (high school), for sight reading... it's hard on baritone fingers o-o.

  • @w00gl3 Euphonium player here: Just got this piece to day in preparation for my school's first concert. The only part that I find to be a bit tedious is the part in the 6/8 section

  • @hewholikethrush you mean the D flat to E flat? I don't quite remember the notes, but I remember 2+3 to 1, half of the battle was controlling your ring finger o-o. haha.

  • @hewholikethrush

Same thing here. Just got this for my Euphonium. I wish we were important for the 2:40 part. Sooo awesome.

  • I have to play this for marching band. It's super pretty and my favourite song.

  • @MegaBandgeek22 What school do you go to?

  • That trumpet part is so awesome, switching from "1" to "23" that fast is not easy.

  • @evildude109 tell me about it...i play trumpet also on this piece

  • Beautiful

  • I'm the only one in my band who finds this easy...

  • @omjurmom96 Really? This song isn't that hard.

  • @Obuos I know...

  • i had the trumpet solo in the 2nd mvmt

  • am i te only one who's playing this for orchestra, not band?

  • @boydigsmusic no, you aren't, I'm playing it for orchestra class also.

  • @boydigsmusic Nope.

  • i played this piece for my band's America tour at the end of 2010!!!! ah how it brings back the good memories ;L

  • i remember playing this song....it was an amazing experience.

  • This is one of my all time favorite band pieces. The fast part near da begining is so badass and I love the oboe solo.

  • *our marching band show

  • This will be in our show along with afro cuban, struttin with some bbq, and a roman song (the theme is a museum of culture from around the world)

  • I remember playing this song. It was so beautiful to listen to and play.

  • This is an excellent recording, btw. I played 1st bassoon on it ten or so yrs ago, when my college wind ensemble performed it.

    Thanks for upload!
