@spittingimage4005 Congrats on all the thumbs up and that, and I know this is an old comment, but I can't stand comments like these.
It's not the fact you wrote down the only two lines in an 11 second video, rather the fact you wrote down the only two lines in an 11 second video... And managed to miss a word!
Why's it overrated? After an entire movie of sexual ambiguity, it's brought out into the fore at the very end...in the early 60s, none the less! The line is great, and a summation of the nagging question "how could they have gotten away with it???" If you're going to throw a stupid bomb like that, you need to back it up.
After rewatching this movie recently, I have to agree with you -- the closing line IS terrific. Did you know that Wilder and I. A. L. Diamond weren't happy with that line, btw, and only left it in there before they could come up with something better (apparently, they couldn't)? Incidentally, this movie was made in the late '50s, not early '60s.
I don't have the film, i just edited this lines from another video here on youtube. i can't recall though that this scene was there but maybe u will have more luck there.
Can you please please upload this scene where the dialog goes as follows
"Jerry: [Joe used a "Cary Grant" voice when posing as a millionaire] What are you trying to do to that poor girl, putting on a millionaire act? And, where did you get that phony accent? Nobody "talks loike thet"!"
The way he said "well, nobody's perfect!" hahaha one of the best line ever, especially from a movie in the '50! Homosexuality win!
