80% is really good efficiency if you get it. I doubt I'll get close to that. But like you said, consistency is the key.
Just bought a new stainless kettle so I'm glad I did that before the price goes up.

I've been useing my old muslin bags as well. I also have been using paint filter bags and they work really well as well and are way cheaper.
