I have seriously worked on so many of these cars. I can't even remember how many of these I have taken apart, I used to think these cars were cool and reliable but the reliability lasted about a good year maybe, It was after I torn one apart for a friend of mine that I realised that these GA's are BIG POS and I also work for GM as a mechanic so I work with POS CARS for a living.

@kingcraig Yeah man. All GM made cars made with the 3100/3400 SFI V6 from 1994-2003 suffer from coolant and gasket issues. The most severe of them being the lower intake manifold gasket. those can blow and youll get antifreeze into the motor oil and if you go long enough of that, the antifreeze and oil combo can seize your engine. A shame too because the 3100/3400 SFI engines have some good nuts for a smaller 6 cyl motor.

what hes saying is if u like replaceing the lower intake manifold gasket then the GM v6 engines are for u. i replaced mine when i bought it at 60k the again at 85k and at 110k the fuckers leaking again. and a word of advise GM just released a statment that said its not the gasket that goes wrong its the bolts that need to be replaced because the loosin up.

pontiac ga's are good reliable cars if you buy the 2000 and above the older ones are slow. i got a 97 and a 03 ga. the 97 can barely beat a 4.0 ford explorer and the 03 ga can beat a 5.0 mustang.
