In reality the government of the USA seems to be very liberal when it comes to religion...and if Kent Hovind could not comply with these basic rules, then perhaps he deserves to be in prison...after all, he refused to purchase a 5o dollar permit...quite sad...
Why did Hovind get such a long sentence when Wesley Snipes only got 3 years for owing quite a bit more money? If I'm not mistaken Snipes owed something like 13 million compared to Hovind's hundreds of thousands? I don't want to jump on the "they attacked him for his beliefs" bandwagon, so I thought I'd see what you thought.
This is funny. I am sure that he understands what he is jail for. However, he is the master of denying relative and making people believe him. I think he was trying to use those tricks in court, but they were not working.
It's a win/lose situation. Even though it's all fair and valid in the legal world, Hovind will no doubt spin it to strengthen the persecution delusion held by his mindless drones... and it will work for it's intended audience.
I often wonder how long it will be before this sect of people become so detached from reality that they start a holy war against the rest of the world.
Once an IDiot always an IDiot, he will never learn. So I reckon he will stay in jail for a further while. Excellent news to start the new year with. Happy new year to every body.
On Rev Hovind's web site, which is still available on the Wayback Machine, Hovind bragged about evading paying taxes for 25 years. The government gave him FIFTEEN YEARS to pay what he owed. The government was finally forced to put him in prison for the crime he committed in just a single year.

And Hovind claims he's morally superior.....

I cannot imagine what he would base his appeal upon.

Hovind is an cretin. But when he gets out, he'll be famous and will return more powerful than we can possibly imagine.
