There is nothing superb in this solo: just simple plain arpeggios taken out of Rachmaninoff and simplified so he can play them, and lots of diminished chords and arpeggios to pretend he is Liszt, except, again he shortcuts to child level of ability notes. A pompous show-off who would have wanted to have genuine piano charisma and does not and finds comfort in pretending he does to an audience of ignorants.

I'm not making him out to be something that he is not, nor is he to be honest. He just plays in a band and people (be it lots of people) like that. He makes money. Now if people are affected by any music, be it technical or simple and to the point, that is up to them...and if they enjoy it...it's all good.

I would have thought that it is the achievement of composition, not the attempt, that normally demonstrates talent.

I used to play piano for years, I got quite good but I never really enjoyed it much so I quit. Then I started to listen to muse and matt's amazing piano playing inspired me to start again. Now I play whenever I can, just for fun. Thank you soooo much, Matt!
i usually don't like to come here and watch matt play piano because it only makes my own piano skills seem terrible compared to him....but it's fun to watch him bang away at it! i am going to keep practicing in the hope that someday i'll be able to play liek him!! :D

Its a cool and easy way to impress people with. But it will rice the expectations to the audience so its a bad combination if you dont have alot of songs that actually sounds and looks as hard or harder.

Really? I recall hearing in an interview that it was this old man who said there was some sort of 'muse' over the boring town of 'Devon' because the kids/teenagers were creative forming bands and, and they brought so much culture to Devon...or something.
