this was a "BBOY" of the year not who created a judging system.. have some respect i agree 100% with the result congrats roxrite you held it down this year.. a true inspiration
Idk, I think dyzee should be top 3 at least. Dude came up with a new judging system with a non-biased judging philosophy. Sorry if i don't have the money to fly down 2 florida and vote.
WTF Dyzee been doin this year? I know Roxrite been judging and winning like everything with straight up flawless bboying all around the world. Jeeze, quit hating cuz the best man definitely won.
Congratulations to Roxrite! Glad to see this him, Thesis, Kid David, Dyzee, and Focus getting recognition for their accomplishments. I hope they start doing bboy lifetime achievement awards along with bboy of the year in the coming years.
I'm happy for Roxrite, but I'm sad for Dyzee, the man just "retired" by his definitions. I can't see him being noted for this award again because of that and he for sure deserved it.
To EVERYONE: Guys this is not really a topic of debate, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LOOK AT THE RESUMES.....You can see ALL RESUMES from each guy for the 2010 calender year. Base your facts from that. When one wins another loses. Its ovious not everyone will be happy.
@slik1991 Horrible idea. Maybe they could have voting at multiple Outbreak qualification jams worldwide, but it should stay at jams. Too many internet bboys out there able to skew the vote. The only way to stop that is have voting the only place eboys arent.
so what qualifies a bboy to be the bboy of the year? for paying dues in this year of 2010? or for building up an honorable rank and reputation from paying dues in the past years for the year of 2010?
cause i thought it was a bboy to pay dues in the year 2010, cause if so, then i thought thesis would take it, cause he's been payin dues this whole year of 2010. the whole bboy world has been payin attention to how he's been battling, going at jams, doing what he's doing. u kno? it would make sense.
@mistermeka but if its for building up an honorable rank and reputation from paying dues in the past years for the year of 2010, then what about Poe One, Abstrak, Storm, Kamel, or El Nino?
But I'm just saying. If this event is meant to recognize a Judge's accomplishments and contributions to Bboy culture shouldn’t his students have the right to vote for him?
Dyzee has ran how many workshops? Journeyed across how many countries to spread Bboying? He deserves so much more than 20 odd votes.
I don't even think SuperNatZ which is definitely Canada’s most active international crew attended the event.
@AstrayChronicle not everyone finds Dyzee's 2010, nor did he battle half as much as the other 4 guys he was up against. there's a big group of people that completely disagree with his judging system and dislike his style too.
regardless, it's not like Roxrite isn't fit for the award. where Dyzee may have lacked in some categories, Roxrite and Thesis contributed more and vice versa. at the end of the day, you should've saved up and flown out to support Dyzee if you feel so strongly about it.
@AstrayChronicle Homie, if you wanna talk about "long list of accomplishments, workshops, beliefs and judging history", then this junk shoulda went to Ness. Peace.
@AstrayChronicle im just glad the top five bboys included amazing bboys. 20 votes to dyzee isnt a true representation. like mexone said, this isnt official nothing is official in the bboy world because everyone is or should be unique and bring something new all the time.
@AstrayChronicle His resume was impressive but, I have to side with Focus over both. He judged just as much events as Dyzee, taught more workshops, rocked the circles mad hard and organized some events. In terms of Roxrite v Dyzee both put skills to test about the same amount (including cypher battles), & Roxrite taught more workshops. Dyzee has a long list of accomplishments but, this was only for 2010. It it was a lifetime achievement award it would've gone to Ness, Poe One, K Mel.
@AstrayChronicle If it was a lifetime achievement award of the final 5 I would've still sided with Focus. The guy does so much and I don't think he gets enough recognition. Dyzee doesn't either but at least he got a lot of online votes. in the second online element round.
@AstrayChronicle For sure I thought it was a good idea until the final voting was at Outbreak. This is a poor way to label bboy of the year. Shit doesn't make any sense. It's an American bboy thing. Focus and Dyzee had a huge disadvantage but the people who deserved it the most were Dyzee Focus and Roxrite cause they put in hella work into the scene and they weren't all about winning jams they were about bboy. But I think Dyzee shoulda won too.
@AstrayChronicle Over 10,000 have views in 2 weeks and you only got 38 "likes" on your comment. Rox Rite had 49 votes at a jam of only 1,000 people in 1 day. Also, if you notice, MANY of the 77 comments agree with RoxRite winning the award. With that being said, ROX RITE(like all other finalist) deserved the award and the bboy community chose him as the 1st ever winner.
Not everyone checks the comments let alone click like to the comments. People have also disliked my comment many times so really that number doesn't represent all the agreements. It was just my take on this event.
Besides this video only has 78 likes and for my comment to have half of that has to say something.
For Dyzee to have half the overall votes before outbreak has to say something.
That being said I just don't believe 1,000 people represents the Bboy community.

It's all good Rox is LEGEND I've never once seen that man crash and Thesis is probably the best pound for pound bboy right now along with David. This was the exact line up I predicted and couldn't be more happy to see the results.

Im trying to make an award like that for a future event
wiguwak 1 year ago
Due to the location of the event, American Bboys will have an advantage.
We all know Dyzee had the most votes before going into this physical ballad voting.
He wasn't even near top three here. Actually second last.
No offense to Roxrite but Dyzee deserved to win.
For those who know Dyzee's long list of accomplishments, workshops, beliefs and judging history you know what I mean.
Sadly the voters were only Bboys who had the time and money to be at this event.
Hope its diffrent next year.
